Don’t have enough good things to say about Wind in the Pines and Dietmar and Marion! They are fantastic hosts, the b&b is absolutely adorable, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the surroundings are gorgeous. My husband and I stayed three nights there for a friends wedding(the bride and groom and another of our couple friends stayed in the other two rooms) and couldn’t find the hosts more accommodating. We had planned to have the ceremony outside under their adorable pergola, but the first snow of the year came on the day of the wedding so we ended up staying in the common room for the ceremony. Breakfasts each morning were delicious! Marion left nothing to be desired, there was plenty of fresh hot coffee and orange juice, and we all left feeling fit to burst! If it weren’t so far away(an 18hr drive for us!) we’d probably be back!

I wish Unilocal offered a rating of 7STARS! Chuck and Cindee would earn that rating. You have never seen a cleaner place than this. Plus the location, tucked in the pine trees is quiet and beautiful. Nice place to do some meditating. We were here on Bayshore Marathon weekend 2011. You can’t believe the special spread they made for us AFTER the marathon, about 1:00. Normally only a breakfast, but on this special day, not only did they put out all the foods we needed to fill our tanks before the marathon, but afterwards they prepared a meal for a king. French toast topped with Craime Freshe. Thick slices of bacon. Fruit! The only place I will stay in Traverse City is here!
