Nordvind Resort

Great place to stay. Wonderful location. Great staff. One of our best vacations ever!!!

Other reviews are dead on. Not a 5 star resort. Small town feel, needs updating in bathroom and countertop of the full size kitchen. Better than a 5 star view. Quiet beach that is not very populated. Nice pool and hot tub. Feels like you and 2 others are sharing the entire resort. Highly recommend if you want small easy going vacation.

Not sure what everyone else is talking about. This has been by far the WORST resort, (if you can call it that) that I’ve ever been to. We arrived the first day and had to clean the bathrooms, kitchen drawers and wash our own sheets. It’s was DISGUSTING. Mold in the shower/​tubs, the shower curtains were slimy and orange/​brownish goo on them, mind you they are suppose to be white, the towels were gray and stained and are supposed to be white and the kitchen pot holders & Doyles were dirty, and not dirty like stained and washed like dirty with food and who knows what the prior guests did with it, really? I’m gonna have this near something I plan to eat?
The mattress covers were stained with what appeared to be bloody, period stains and several piss stains from whoever wet the bed before we stayed there. The walls were dirty with tons of fingerprints, including the entry door, it was scary to just touch the doorknob. I’ve NEVER felt so uncomfortable at stay away from home.
The fact that it’s dated is the least of the problems, the laundry room is exposed to the parking lot so you see the employees washing the laundry on parking lot floor, the lobby… well not even a lobby, it’s an office, is filled with clutter, it was horrible. I don’t pay resort top dollar money to go to a dump, for that I go to a motel. If I go to a resort, I expect resort quality service and the fact that this place is soooo dirty surprises me that they’re still open. If you want to go to a home away from home, this isn’t it, unless you’re okay living in filth.

Lauren was 100% correct. We, also, have been coming to Nordvind for years. We look forward to the kind, accommodating staff. Yes, maybe updates would be nice, but I do not come here for a 5 star hotel … I come here for the privacy, location and relaxation. The pool is ALWAYS sparkling clean, as is the jacuzzi, and we are right on the beach. We always have a great view off the large balcony of the beach, which is equally semi private as its not busy. Usually just a few people fishing.
Bottom line, if you are looking for a great get away, be it with your significant other or family, Nordvind is just fine. Give them a call and see if they have any availability when you are planning a trip. If they can squeeze you in, they will. I literally made three trips here last year and stayed here every time! I even sent my son and wife here for a vacation. They loved it. Who can beat walking over the bridge to the little shops? There are a few bars, gators and another small one in the shops area, to have a late night drink and talk outside. The sunset is romantic and if you walk out to the beach at night, there will probably not be anyone out there. If they update, the price would just go up. I don’t stay for the room anyway.

I’ve been coming to the Nordvind resort for 10 years, my parents for 20. It is a great condo to rent if you want to have a relaxing vacation!
Pros: Huge rooms, bedroom, fold out sleeper sofa, full kitchen with table. Every room could sleep 4 with the sleeper sofa, good place to stay for a couple or a family. Long balcony with amazing views of the beach/​ocean. Quiet place, there are usually only a handful of people around the pool if that, you always feel like you have the place to your self. Right on the beach and prime location, it’s a 5 minute walk over the bridge to Gators or to St. Johns Pass. Great for adults and kids. We usually go grocery shopping, pack the fridge and make breakfast and a few lunches at the hotel and go out to dinner at all the great local restaurants.
Room has TV/​bluray player and hotel has washer/​dryer for use. People who run the hotel are very nice and will help you if you need anything. Prices are great for a week stay plus they have free WiFi. Ample parking. Big pool and hot tub.
Cons: Outdated. Room could use new bed and just some general kitchen/​bathroom updating. No restaurant. Cleaning service comes at end of stay, which means you will probably have to wash your towels at least once during the week.
If you want a fancy hotel, this isnt it. If you want a relaxing vacation (1 week or for a few months!) this is the place to stay. Room prices are inexpensive and hotel is quiet. Great location right on the beach close to ton of dining options.
