Al Quick Stop is a convenience store/deli on South Broad Street in Trenton, NJ. It serves the same customers as the competing 7−11s and Wawas, but in a somewhat more rundown space. They offer the same sandwiches, drinks and snacks found in the others, but at a slightly lower price. The owner, Al, works the counter and offers warm greeting to everyone walking in the door. He can also be found behind the deli counter slicing meat and cheese and throwing something together for a customer. It also does a brisk lottery business. My coffee was fresh and hot. The large cost a buck fifty. Al’s smile was free.
