I can’t even with this place. I went after seeing picture of what looked like some authentic Mexican food. My husband and I walked into the party area, and wondered why they didn’t put a sign outside to direct you to the right area. After being seated, we where quickly handed menus and brought chips and salsa. Let me tell you, the waitress was very nice, attentive and not overbearing, the 2nd star is thanks to her. But, the fact that the place was dimly lit, and they had one of those creepy horror films that are translated in Spanish was just not fun! I’m sorry but you don’t want to walk into a family restaurant, and see someone’s scalp being detached from the rest of their body. Not to mention a girl sitting in the booth behind us that kept making weird screechy noises, then proceeded to make googley eyes at my husband and making sexual gestures towards him. I’m not the jealous type, plus he’s the one that felt so uncomfortable, he didn’t want me to leave him alone. We ordered a platter with chicken, steak and a marinated pork, and we where disappointed at how dry everything was, and how there was no flavor. They had a sign with different credit cards that usually signifies that they’re accepted, only to be approached by the waitress at the end, telling us they where cash only. I swear I had a nightmare of that place, never returning again…

food was very good and plenty, the staff was awesome. This a good family owned restaurant with authentic Mexican food. I would go back again if I’m ever in town.

This is a very good restaurant. After trying out a few new latino restaurants in the neighborhood and having not so inspiring experiences, this place satisfied my appetite. We sat in a booth in the bar area because banquet hall was too big with just three of us!!! As we sat, we were greeted with freshly made salsa chips with some salsa. The chips were great, but salsa was average. After eating Tierra Maya’s hot sauce, nothing comes close to the addictive super duper spicy sauce. Anyways, I ordered enchiladas de mole, and it was very very good. The thick tamale sauce is much better than the other two places! My daughter gobbled up chicken tacos, and my wife enjoyed her enchiladas de verde. I wanted to try their desert but was too full. Definitely try it next time. Highly recommended!

I am constantly in the search for real, authentic Mexican food, like the kind I ate in Mexico. It’s nearly impossible to find here, at least in this area of the country. Well, I have to say this place came pretty darn close if not made it in my book. Everything was so delicious! I always order enchiladas de mole and these did not disappoint. Sweet with a little kick, just the way I like them. And don’t even get me started on the tinga de pollo. I am not even exaggerating when I say it’s the best thing I’ve tasted in a long time. The service was top notch. Extremely friendly people that work there. And they speak English and Spanish which is a rarity here in Trenton, where you pretty much have to know Spanish to order food at any Hispanic restaurant. The décor is a little surprising in the beginning, because it’s all decked out for a party(all the time) but you can dress casually, in sweatpants, whatever… no need to dress up. I highly recommend this place.

Have been dinning here at least 3 times a week since discovering this fantastic Mexican Restaurant. Alicia is the jack of all trades and has mastered everything that makes a great place to eat. Have had over half the menu so far and not a single complaint yet. And am finding it extremely hard to pick a favorite.

First bite at Casa Lupita was a little unusual. I walked in for a late lunch and the large banquet/dining area looked like it was between weddings — all white tablecloths with pink bows and ribbons everywhere. But, to one side near the kitchen a few tables had been left aside for the day/evening crowd to use. The only other person in the house at 2 was Alicia, the chef, server, manager, and Jacquelina of all trades. She was Aces. She took my order for Sopes de Pollo with Black Beans and Rice on the side, and disappeared into the kitchen to make my lunch. It was only when I heard the rumbling in the kitchen and she finally emerged with a tray loaded down with my almuertzo and placed it before me that I realized what was going on. She played all the parts of this theatrical production. Everything was very good. The thick corn tortilla used as the base for the Sopes was freshly baked and was strong enough to hold the open face of the Chicken, Beans, Lettuce, Tomato and Grated Cheese that was piled onto each of the three 5 inch diameter disks. The Mexican spices announced themselves in their splendid red and green, and two small dishes of Salsa waited patiently to be thrown into the flames. So good. The Black Beans and Golden Rice were ample, satisfying and filling. My Mandarin Jarritos reminded my why it was my favorite carbonated drink — the fruit flavors always come through in a way that the Americano alternatives just do not. While I consumed this excellent repast, Alicia sat at the next table and chatted with me about the shop and her life since coming here from Cuidad Mexico more than 20 years ago. She was bright, charming, and had a confident air that was compelling. I thought she was the owner of this hall, but alas, only a very motivated employee. Impressive, nonetheless. Casa Lupita is 4 Stars with a bullet. It may be the best of the Casas Mexicanas I have sampled to date. It will be hard to keep me away.

Great Mexican food in a sea of Guatemalan restaurants. Alicia is the owner and chef, and her work is top drawer. I keep going back to the enchiladas, but the three times I’ve been here, my companions have ordered everything from liver and onions to seafood soup, and there has never been a complaint. The sauces are lively but not too hot(unless requested). The mole sauce is perfect – but be sure to save room for dessert! And BYOB. This place is incredible. As this is a new venue in Chambersburg, you could be the first to turn your friends on to some of the best and most authentic Mexican in central New Jersey. Great food at excellent prices. Give it a try!
