This place was attended for the donuts. Each donut was $ 1. I tried 3 different ones that consisted of jelly filled, lemon filled and a cream filled donut stick. All of the donuts were filled appropriately. My favorite was the lemon. I was not a fan of the cream one too much. I am not sure what kind of cream was used, but it was not sweet enough. The jelly I believe was raspberry. Will I go back? Sure.

I have not had bakery goods this delish since I was a child when we had 3 bakeries within walking distance of my house. Now every thing is from the food store and taste like paper. Awesome find I am sorry I did not go there sooner. A true institution that needs to be preserved. I would rate all that i have tried so far a true 10+

If you are into old world bakery pastries like you used to munch when grannie took you shopping, then Eet Gud Bakery is the place that will fill your nostalgic sweet tooth. Large format Danish, donuts, cakes, cookies and loaves of Euro-style breads overflow the display cases and back shelves. The copious icing on the top only hints at the abundance of cream filling within. Like Glazed Donuts? Look no further. Cream-filled sticks? Glazed Sour Cream rounders? This is your Shangri-La! All this caloric glory provided courtesy of the women behind the counter who have been packing bags and boxes of these incredible delights for the past 40+ years. Once you bite into their cruller or cherry-cheese Danish there is no going back. The addiction is instantaneous and dream-evoking. Go after a particular bad day when you need a sugar fix. This place will do ya!

Ok place. Everyone is very friendly, but in my experience, the donuts, pastries, cookies and croissants were just average.

My friend has always hyped up the donuts from here so I was really excited to try them. The interior of the bakery is very… neglected? It seemed like only ½ the building was in use. The display case is super old school and there are tons of pastries, cookies, and other baked goods. Non of the items have a label so if you don’t know what something is, you gotta ask. I came here for the donuts, specifically the long crème filled. I got an assortment of 4, and it was all under $ 5 which is not too bad. The long crème one was definitely the best out of all of them. The cream was light and sweet which paired well with the yeast dough. The glazed and boston crème were okay, and I wasn’t a big fan of the apple fritter, it just seemed lacking in flavor and a little dry. Overall, the donuts were average. If I came back, I’d pick up different pastries out of the display case. And get more crème filled donuts.

The ladies running this old-school bakery are the sweetest, the people alone are reason enough to support this local bakery. The bakery has lots of options from donuts to cookies to pastries to cold items like cannolis, all displayed behind classic glass cases. Also, the prices are extraordinarily reasonable and on the very inexpensive side. I had one of the long cream donuts plus three small cannolis, even though I wanted to purchase and eat all of the items in the bakery. The cream donut was absolutely perfect. The cream was delicious and soft, but not heavy at all. The donut itself was very yummy, not greasy but just the best consistency for a donut. The cannolis were equally as delicious. Just enough crunch to the cannoli shell and the cream and chocolates on the inside were a great complement. Loved this bakery so much, I may become a weekly regular!

This 87 year old gem is within walking distance of my house. I hesitate to mention that I have come here for half of its existence. I agree with all the praise for their sweets. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how good their various rye breads are too. And their rolls are an institution in this area. Sadly, the building they are housed in is up for sale. When it sells they will be gone too. To me, that is no gud.

I ordered 3 of the cream donuts(As the previous reviews suggest!) and I was extremely satisfied and killed them devoured them instantly. Stop by here and try them yourself. The homemade donuts had a perfect consistency and sweetness level. Next time in the area, I’m ordering a dozen…

Ok, this bakery is old school and I mean OLD school. The baked goods have no tags and most no prices, so you need to get familiar with what things are or just be adventurous and start pointing at stuff like I did and buy it! Trust me you won’t be sorry. The cream doughnut is amazing, super light and smooth. I’ve never had a doughnut like this. The sour cream doughnut was slamming too. You can actually taste the tartness of the sour cream. And guess what? They cost $ 1!!! Cheap AND good? Must have died and went to heaven

Sometimes the quality of the service is more valuable than the food itself. I strictly tried the donuts here and I must say they are just above average, not that it’s a bad thing. The Crème donut is is rich but I wish it was sweeter. The filled donuts have a great donut to filling ratio, filled I’d say about 40−60% filling. The donuts alone are a good classic type of recipe that has stood the test of time, but don’t overdo any type of consistency. THEBEST part was the service here. Everyone was very nice and helpful and had a smile on their face. Not only were they patient while I selected donuts they also were nice enough to give me suggestions. Not to mention the donuts were less than a $ 1 each.($ 10.99 /dozen) A place that has been in business for what looks like decades must be doing something right.

Sour Cream Doughnut was delicious — apple fritter was mediocre. Great, kitschy bakery! 3.5÷5.0

As you walk into Eet Gud, you are greeted by a friendly lady who you instantly want to adopt as your own grandmother. The counter ladies have also probably been working here forever and are sweet as pie. Sadly it looks like the bakery which was once a hot commodity, is now not serving as many customers. There are still a few great choices, but when encountered with tons of empty shelves it leaves you wanting more. I got a Boston crème, a stick donut, a glazed, an apple cider, a cinnamon bun and a pumpkin… no I did not eat all of them myself. I did however cut them all into 4’s and taste them ALL… for the sake of this review only of course. Like Amalia said, I think the crème filled donut was OVERKILL, wayyy too much. The pumpkin was my least favorite, it wasn’t pumpkin-y enough. I was surprised at how much I liked the Boston crème, mostly because the filling wasn’t overwhelming and the regular glazed which of course never gets old anywhere. The others were just good, and exactly what I expected. The size of the donuts are pretty large, and great price(just bring cash if you are spending under $ 10). I will return, for some of a slice of cake, which looked great and the breads smelled delicious too. Plus I can’t get enough of the grannies behind the counter and the«everything is made from scratch» sign. Places like these, that seemed to be stuck in a time long ago have such a sweet allure. So yes, come here to support a great local bakery instead of a dunkin donuts, so these grannies can keep their bakery thriving.

i was moving this weekend, and stopped into eet gud because of the good Unilocal reviews. i’ve passed the place a handful of times but never considered going in. verdict: donuts so sweet that my teeth hurt! hello sugar rush. i picked up a few to share, and had a bite of the cream stick donut, the custard-filled donut, and a mini cannoli. i’m not the biggest fan of cream, but the cream stick donut was pretty good– super sweet frosting-like cream inside, and the donut was a nice texture. definitely a lot of cream filling, they don’t skimp! the custard-filled donut was probably my fave(i think i went in for a second bite)… the custard had a lovely silky texture, well balanced sweetness, and there was A LOT in the donut. eet gud has definitely perfected the dough-to-filling ratio. yum. the cannoli was a disappointment– they sell them already filled, so the shell was a bit soggy from the filling. despite this, it was pretty yummy– would be better if they filled them once ordered, though. overall, a good local spot for donuts. friendly staff. definitely trumps dunkin donuts. …time to go the gym.

The long crème filled doughnut… words can’t really describe how good this is, but I’ll do my best to give an accurate description. With your first bite you break through the ever so slightly crispy exterior into the light but well textured interior. Sweet crème that dances precariously on the edge of cloying oozes over your tongue. From there, nearly every bite is filled with crème. I went back inside and bought a dozen. I couldn’t let this discovery go unheralded. Even at 99c each/$ 5.50 half doz/10.99 doz they are worth every penny. I had a coffee as well; it wasn’t very good but it’s not a coffee shop so no deductions. Tl;dr — the donuts are godlike.

After chasing birds around for a couple hours this spring morning I stopped here for a donut to set myself up for a mid-day nap. The cream donut is truly fantastic. The dough part is a little stretchy and soft and not too sweet, and the cream filling is superb: slightly heavier than stiff whipped cream, slightly lighter than cake frosting, sweet, white, and airy. I bought one and ate it in the parking lot, then went right back in for another one to put in the freezer in case of a cream donut emergency. The Boston cream was good, too, but I threw out the unfrosted cake donut because it smelled and tasted like movie popcorn butter. They must use butter-flavored shortening or something: the epitome of nast. Big selection of cakes, cookies, and other pastries, but if you’re into white cream donuts, you need no other reason to go here. So go here.

Quest for the Holy Doughnut aka Doughnut Quest: Part I Great 1950’s bakery which happens to have doughnuts. Yeah! I’m on a quest for custard filled maple long johns, and while they don’t have them, they DO have incredible doughnuts. $.89/each; we bought a custard filled, glazed, and cinnamon. These are not the super light and airy version, nor the cake version. They’re kind of a denser version of the light and airy variety, with lots of real sugar and a good ¼C of custard – I’m not joking. It was oozing out and so good. After returning to the car we realised that we needed milk, so back inside for a container of milk, $.89. I won’t joke – my teeth were chattering from the sugar, but I was happy. I didn’t need to try the other 2, but did anyway, for science! A great find, and they’re open both early and late every day except Monday: Tuesday-Saturday 6AM-8PM Sunday 6AM-6PM. Nice people, and while you’re in the parking lot stuffing your face, will notice a revolving stream of pastry lovers heading in slightly grumpy and walking out with a childish smirk. If a couple has returned to their car, the one in the passenger seat will be snacking on one of the pastries prior to putting their seatbelt on. Will definitely return.
