Food $ 6.92 lunch special. Normally $ 6.59 fingers meal includes slaw but doesn’t include a drink. It’s not really much of a savings. Drink is $ 1.89 for large so go for lunch special it if you need a drink and hate slaw? It’s similar to Zaxby’s but not as greasy. The color is not as dark yellow as Zaxby’s. Honestly I like the grease. Even the sauce is similar too. The only difference is that the special did not come with celery and ranch. The bread, fries and, chicken fingers all tasted about the same. Décor Huge and plain. Kind of dirty bathroom. Service No issues. Would I come here again? Nah.

Eh. This place is equivalent to a Zaxby’s for us, but a tad healthier and less greasy. It’s sort of on the bland side tbh. The chicken pita was simply a chicken wrap. The wrap was a tortilla versus pita bread. And the chicken strip inside it was bland. The dipping sauce gave it some flavor, but that was about it. The bf’s choice of the chicken strips weren’t any better. The 5 pieces of chicken were meagerly small. The fries were average. The only good things were the Texas toast and sweet tea. Even after mixing the unsweet with sweet tea together, the result was still surprisingly tasty and sweet. The lunch deal wasn’t really anything wowing(the 5 piece chicken strips above). It was like $ 0.92 off the regular menu price. Well, that was what the bf observed. Lol. Parking was plentiful as Gutherie’s was at the corner end of the strip with a drive thru option.

If it is chicken you want then that is about all they have. I would love to see a few other options. We have one vegetarian in our family and a side salad and fries is not really a meal. Good chicken fingers and guthries sauce. The boneless wings are also pretty tasty. I would really recommend eating this at the restaurant. The breading and fries get very soggy quickly.

Love their chicken and chicken salad. I go here mostly for their Ice. If you are addicted to ice like me, they have the perfect ice. However, the Guthrie’s sauce does not even come close to Thatcher ’ s sauce. I always wish I could go get Thatchers sauce to eat with my Guthrie’s chicken. That would be perfect!

It’s like they kidnapped your grandma who made everything from scratch and now force her to crank out these amazingly fresh and perfectly fried chicken fingers. I’m saddened that I don’t live anywhere near a Guthries. I’ll have to look into relocating here to Trenton.

Some of the best chicken fingers I’ve ever had. Fantastic! No need to go into Chattanooga for excellent chicken… they have it in Trenton.

Looking for a good place to eat while fueling up in Trenton, we chose Guthries because of good reviews and a desire for fried chicken. The restaurant was much larger than I expected and very clean. The menu was a little confusing, but we figured out what to order. I should mention that the only fired chicken they have are chicken fingers and wing, no breasts or thighs, so that was disappointing. The service was friendly and fairly fast, the chicken fingers were quite good, but we only got a few and the fries were just ok. My husband had the chicken finger sandwich, which was a little more substantial. The Guthries sauce is some sort of mayonnaise based sauce, we were not overly impressed with it, so we asked for some wing sauce, which was much better. Overall, the food was good, so it’s worth a visit. This is really a 3.5 star restaurant, in my opinion.

Guthrie’s — Golden fried chicken finger goodness. Located right off the I-59 exit down a bit on the right. Plenty of parking for this place in the strip mall it was in. Arrival: ~ 2:00PM My wife and I arrived after lunch as we had just crossed into the Eastern Time Zone and lost an hour on the clock. This inside dinning room was large and could probably sit 50 to 75 diners. It was spacious as well. We ordered at the register and our meal was called to retrieve to our table. The staff here was pleasant, polite, and concerned with our dinning experience. My wife and I ordered the Lunch special which could be any of several meal combinations. We got the 5 fingers, fries and a drink combo. I’d eaten at Guthrie’s often in the late 80’s while in college. I’ve since eaten at other chicken finger establishments that have presented similar fare. All the other places are good and I frequent them. None have the same sauce as Guthrie’s and I was eager to taste it yet again after so long. I was not disappointed. The fingers were well fried and had plenty of fried crust to compliment the chicken and sauce. The fries were appropriately fried and seasoned with salt. The combo was about seven dollars and the amount of food for lunch was good for the price. My wife and I had sweet tea to drink and it was just a bit t0o sweet. We cut it down with the unsweetened tea and it was fine. Overall we liked this place and I’d eat here for lunch a few times a month if one was nearby. We’d recommend it if you are a weary road traveler in this part of the country and want a good meal.

Wanted a non-chain place to eat after hiking Cloudland Canyon, so we selected Guthrie’s since we had never heard of it. Imagine my surprise when the owner told me he owned 3 franchises and there were over 40 in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and S. Carolina. The food was great, and yes, the sauce is better than Zaxby’s. The owner told us the story, and the former chef who went to Zaxby’s did not get the recipe right. Whenever you get the opportunity, stop by this little known gem. The chicken wings were glorious, and the fingers were also better than Zaxby’s. Can’t miss with this place!

I really believe Guthrie’s puts out a much better product than the more common competitors, especially Zaxby’s. The chicken is so much better and the sauce tastes fresh, not packaged. Sure, there are less items on the menu but that let’s them focus on what’s important. If you want GREAT chicken fingers, this is your place.

For a casual option, this was a great find. Chicken as good or better than Zaxbys. Our kids lived the slushy ice! The service was quick and friendly.

This place was great! The owner was very nice and greeted everyone with a smile. He made time to go around the restaurant and ask every patron if they were having a great day. Their sauce was way better than Zaxby’s and the chicken tenders were just right. Best chicken finger joint around. I will be sure this place is on my must stop by list when in the Chattanooga area.
