Public Storage

Dealing with this Public Storage location has been nothing short of a nightmare. Everything from the loosely worded fine print down to the slumlord type customer services has made my skin crawl and my blood boil.
Beware of false advertising and bring a tape measure! The 5′ x 10′ locker I originally rented ended up being only 5′ x 9′ 3″. Subsequently, the sofa I intended on storing was 9′ 5″ long and too big to fit in the unit. After bringing this to managements attention, they rudely remarked that it was my fault for not reading the fine print. The contract reads «approximate size only». I then asked if I could move up to the bigger 10′ x 10′ unit that was on special. They replied by saying I could move up, but I would have to pay an additional administration fee of $ 15. They also remarked that I would not be able to get the new customer special price because I was already an existing customer. I had the unit for less than 24 hours and never even moved my things into it. How on earth could they consider me an existing customer?! I contacted upper management about the situation and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Needless to say, I have since moved on to another storage facility. I will never return to public storage.
