A-Ok about sums it up. It’s close and convenient. Food is fairly standard pub style, but hits the spot — I’ve eaten here a few times. Service is friendly, accommodating, efficient. It’s handy to have the attached liquor store, too. Prices at Sticky Wicket aren’t as good as you’d find at a bigger booze store, and they don’t have a huge selection, but this place is certainly respectable in both regards, and not to drone on about the convenience factor, but that aspect is great. Some last minute guests were coming over and I wanted to be able to offer them beer and wine. The prices for the economy wines(Yellow Tail, for instance) are a bit higher at SW than at Joe Canals, Wegmans, or Trader Joe’s, but some of the traditionally slightly more expensive wines are less here than they are at those stores. I didn’t buy any vodka — which is behind the register — but those prices are quite reasonable, too, compared to the above mentioned shops. On a whim, we stopped by on a Saturday night, and the entertainment was surprisingly good — not that I expected it to be bad. It was an 80s cover band, and they did what they do very well. Our waitress was busy, but never too busy to check on us, and make sure we were doing ok. There are pool tables for those inclined to play. The Sticky Wicket won’t knock your socks off, but it’s a respectable neighborhood hang.

Well what can I say about my first time at the«sticky» A dive bar on a large scale with live music every weekend. A separate dining area to actually have a sit down dinner and a small stage for live entertainment. A huge bar that takes up an entire room with a small packaged goods section for alcohol on the go. It was an interesting crowd, diverse one at that. Lol. The bartenders were quick with a joke or a refill whichever you choose. Basic beer in bottles and tap. They run happy Monday thru friday. My little party sat at the bar so we could be a part of bartender conversation and just to be plain ol nosey. Lol. I ordered a bar pie with shrooms and onion, I must admit it was an okay bar pie. We ordered nachos and potato skins which were okay not awesome but it is what it is. Definitely would’ve like to have stuck around for the band, I was told they’re really good. Maybe next time. definitely worth going back for music, wasn’t that crowded fora saturday night surprisingly but probably bc of Easter weekend. Bartenders were great and had us laughing and making it a great time for all of us. can’t wait to go back. Bar food prices weren’t that cheap, I suppose happy hour would help. next time…

It’s a good hangout for after work with my coworkers. The monthly drink specials are very good and the price are not too bad at all.

Aside from the dude hanging up without an answer when I called to see if The Sticky Wicket was open for lunch, the joint itself isn’t a bad place for a dive bar with adequate kitchen. Located in a desolate part of Trenton that at one time attempted to be a modern commercial area, it now is one of the few remaining tenants in Independence Square. The space is large, with an attached liquor store and a large rectangular bar with room to sit and have a meal. The atmosphere is dark and wood paneled, giving the feeling that there are things in the corners you might not want to know about. With a few hunting trophies on the walls, TSW could be a Western dive bar, as it has the feel of a large cabin. I ordered a medium patty melt burger, fries and a cold Angry Orchard Apple Cider. The prices were pretty good, with the food under $ 8., and the coldie at $ 5.50. Good, friendly staff, and many regulars who seemed to know each other and kept the repartee moving along. My patty melt was half medium as requested, but the other half was well done, no doubt from pushing it to the side of the grill to give it lower heat, but failing to turn it to keep the cooking balanced. Although the menu claims the patties were never frozen, I have doubts about that given the crumbly nature of the finished puck. It was an okay sandwich, but could have been much more given the copious fried onions, and melty cheese. I liked that it was on marble rye. It is nice to know that Sticky Wicket is open and keeping busy. It is a cool place to hang out over lunch. If they served up a better burger I would become a fan.

What can I say, I like dive bars. They have good specials and I love their bar pie. One as an appetizer is really enough for a meal. Sometimes the food is hit or miss. Great fries. Tasteless meatloaf. Great chicken pot pie. Wings with BBQ sauce, just awful. The best turkey burger I’ve ever eaten. Great hotdogs if your heart can stand the grease. You get the picture. Don’t sit at the side tables, you’ll be serving yourself. The previous owner would serve free popcorn. That’s out. If they know you, you can run a tab. If not, they may want to hold a credit card or ask you to pay as you go. Good drink and food specials every day. Couple of happy hours per day. The booze is cheap and probably a little watered down, but the pours are generous. After a few, one of the bartenders will probably freehand pour you a little something extra. Tip them well and they will remember your name and what you like. The mall it’s located in is pretty abandoned. Stores come and go, but the Sticky Wicket keeps going. Has a regular older bar crowd. Some of them probably belong in rehab. The bar has music at night but we usually go in the early evening and are out before the real alcholics hit the joint. Never seen any problems, although if you are not familar with the area, it may seem a little too sketchy, but, really, it’s pretty safe. They also have video poker, some pool tables, and trivia. I wouldn’t go anywhere near the salad bar. I hear there is one, but I’ve never seen it. Oh, almost forgot, they have a frequent flyer program and will send you a boatload of coupons when you reach 200 points.

Food was not good that type of food could of been prepared at home. Not a place I would buy food at again.

I had been here with co-workers 7 years ago and it was alive then. This place is dead. Dated, dim(damn near in the dark) and has a slight door of oldness to it! It looks clean but truthfully it’s so dark in there you wouldn’t see anything anyway. The service was non existent. The welcome we received should have pushed us back out the door. Our waitress was not very nice and we waited way too long for service on several occasions with it only being a few people sitting at the bar. Our waitress just wasn’t friendly and being that it was one of our birthdays you would have thought she would have been a lot more friendlier. Food was average nothing really special to t a ok about. I have the bar wings and they were good, crisp and flavorful. The sweet potatoe fries were good but they gave me like 8 serious like 8. My boo had the Hamilton Burger and she enjoyed it but it’s became messy by the time she got to the second half. The bill portion is why I give it the one star. When we got the first bill it had none of the deductions for the birthday meal that they claim to give you which we did not receive our free dessert. They push one thing and it’s something totally different if you’re in the area for your birthday and its a Tuesday — you may want to try it other other than that go somewhere else. We will not visit again and Wesley upgrade the entire building and replace the staff that was not very nice at all. I very rarely give review with one stars unless absolutely deserve it

Went here twice when traveling for work. Food is good and very reasonably priced. They also will customize dishes a bit if you need it. My coworker and I both got pasta dishes and we were really happy with it.

First time here. The service is horrible, the waitresses are rude, the steak was dry and no flavor. Do not order any frozen drinks. Not worth it

I only went to the adjoining liquor store, but the whole place including the restaurant was dimly lit. I just got my bottle of Reisling and kept it moving. This area reminds me of Detroit, kinda run down. The remnants of a once occupied shopping complex. A lil depressing.

This place is located in a very depressing part of town. The shopping center was dumpy and needed a major facelift. We came here in the afternoon over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The place was empty so we figured if nothing else, the service should’ve been decent. Boy were we wrong. Our waitress casually strolled over about 15 mins after we were seated and acted like she rather be somewhere else than serve us. We ordered the appetizer sampler, prime rib, strip steak and the brownie ala mode. The sampler included wings which were just typical wings — not bad but we ordered spicy and it came mild(this is a matter of opinion of course)… the onion rings were inedible, they were over fried and burnt in some parts and the mozz sticks which were standard frozen mozz that you get at a fridays or something. The prime rib was ok but extremely fatty and had to cut away about ½ of it as it wasn’t edible. The strip steak was over cooked, I ordered med rare and it came med well. The broccoli came over cooked and the spinach so oily there was a pool of oil when we pushed the spinach to the side. The brownie was more like dense cake and the tiny scoop of icecream was completely melted by the time it got to the table. The service was slow, we sat for 15 mins waiting for a water refill. The server was more interested in gossiping with her coworkers than serving out table. Overall, the experience was not good and will not be returning to this place.

Tequila Tuesdays is totally awesome. I don’t care for the food too much but Wendy’s is across the parking lot which is fantastic in my opinion. I was born and raised in Hamilton and have been coming to this place for years. This is the only bar I frequent where you can get so drunk you can puke and if you are decent after unleashing the fury they will allow you to continue to drink. I have never puked on the bar or anything like that just the trash can and the bathroom, but no one gave me an issue about it… I’m a big tipper so maybe that helped. Any way go on Fridays if you want to rock out to a band and drink your face off. So much good here…

This is a typical chain, family-style restaurant, like TGI Fridays. They have the normal assortment of burgers, chicken dishes, fish, etc. Nothing special. Food is average, ambience is average. It’s good if you don’t want to cook and want to bring the family to a restaurant with good variety on the menu.

I love the Sticky Wicket and I don’t know why. Oh wait yes I do: –This place has amazing specials 2 dollar bottles… all bottle. YESPLEASE –They have a liquor store and take their to go seriously. Where else at least call can you add a 6 pack to your tab –They have happy hour twice a day –I can get tipsy and then go buy something terrible at Tj Maxx/Aj Wright –Everything is fried. EVERYTHING –None of the serves every want to talk to me. They just leave me my trans fat and beer alone. –They have enough TVs that you don’t have to interact with people around you during football The Sticky Wicket is a dive bar that draws you in and keeps you coming back!

Went for a Sunday lunch. EXCELLENT pork ribs(the fall off the bone type). Wings and fries were standard. Nothing special. I loved the fact that they had cranberry juice and the waitresses and other staff seemed very attentive, even if slightly awkward. They also have a fried corn appetizer that’s really good. Try the two for $ 22.22(one appetizer to split, two entrees, and two desserts) for a great date deal.

I hate to say it, but the quality of this place has gone downhill. The last few times we have gone, the food was less than mediocre and the service was just bad. It’s a shame because they used to have some really great things(except the bad Salad bar and weird dressings)…disappointed!!!
