This place is the typical downriver diner style eating. Paper napkins, plastic tablecloths, chatty waitresses, regular repeat customers. Food is always good, fast service, good prices. They have a full bar and craft beers but not a bar atmosphere at all.

I went for lunch with my boyfriend and we split the Orange roughy with fries and scalloped apples. I got a water and he got a lemonade. The food was absolutely delicious and the lemonade was very good, better than most. We sat outside and the service was pretty good as well. The prices were good the servers were friendly and good at their job, I would recommend this place to anyone.

The food is pretty good. The problem that i have is every time i place a carryout order they charge me a different price for the exact same food that i order. There groupon deals are confusing and tricky, read the fine print. They don’t put the customer first. Even though the food is tasty we stopped eating there because how they treat the customer with the i don’t care how we treat the customer.

Great eats and they always have specials. You must try there CARROTCAKE or any of there deserts, you will not be disappointed. They do have alcohol for those who like a drink with dinner. I believe they are known for there Lobster Mac and cheese which is also amazing. Not my favorite décor that’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

INSULTING. Oven roasted chicken as stated on the menu should have nicely browned skin. Well what I got was chicken with rubbery white skin with a blotch of paprika in one spot. It was clearly boiled chicken they were using in their chicken paprikas taken out of the liquid it was sitting in and blotched with paprika. When i got the dish and questioned the server about it she was like a deer caught in the headlights and left my table without saying anything. She was polite enough to come back and ask how it was. I explained that this certainly was not oven roasted chicken. I declined another meal because I didn’t want to get duped again. When she brought my tab over to me she said that the manager told her it was oven roasted. Nope. Not only do I eat, but I cook a lot and am in the food business and know the difference. Like I said. INSULTING. Watch out for whatever else they try and cheat you on.

I have passed this place on Fort street a hundred times and never stopped. This time I did and discovered a hidden gem. Had Crab cakes and cabbage and bacon soup and it was the bomb. We will be going back often, the menu is diverse and they have daily specials, they also serve alcohol and the deserts look out of this world. If you have never tried this place, you should.

Great little local gem. One of Mom’s favorites. A little bit of everything for everyone and all done well. I especially like the soup and sandwich lunches they have and Mom always swears by the chicken stir fry. Specials, desserts, beer/wine, and I think they even cater. It’s hard to go wrong here. And if Mom likes it then what’s not to like, right?

The food was great and the service good. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the price being a bit high for a diner.

Bought a Groupon for this place. The food and service was exceptional! Chicken Pot Pie is delicious! Cherry salad was good and the ice tea is fresh brewed. Totally awesome! We’ll definitely be back! Already purchased two more Groupons for this place. Highly recommend

I had stopped coming here a few years ago because a of inconsistencies in the food. This is my second time back and it’s been delicious. Tonight we had the Pot Roast special and topped it off with a slice of cheesecake and my husband had their lemon berry mascarpone cake. Definitely worth the revisit !

This has become our weekend morning go to place. The prices are right, the portion sizes are huge, and the employees make it a very enjoyable experience.

I’m somewhat torn between 3 and 4 stars… Ehhh will go with 3 more like 3 and a half but not an option anywho. I’ve had a groupon for this place for like over two months. It expires at end of the month. So today I finally talked my significant other to dine here with me today, he was not to eager to give T. V’s a visit since his work had ordered carry out before there and to say the least he wasn’t impresed. On our way there, I asked what he had ordered before? A burger he said it was overcooked and dry. My reply get something else then. The menu is big checked it out online. I had heard from Unilocal the lobster bisque rocks and I love lobster bisque. Upon arrival place was pretty empty only a few tables. We were greeted and seated promptly by our server. Our server was excellent, I asked her about the lobster bisque, she said it was good but very filling and a cup is actually a bowl. I was torn they also had chicken chili, but I went with the bisque since that was my main reason for visiting. The bisque was very good, very and I mean very rich and was served with some delicious french bread. I also ordered the greek chicken pita which was decent but I ended up boxing it up cause the soup was sooo filling. To my exasperation my better half ordered wait for it. A burger which again was overcooked and dry. Awe crumba, I know, I know I don’t get it either! T.V’s is a cute little diner. Service good, food decent, soup great, however I will say a bit overpriced for a diner, although they do have a full bar. I saw a few things on menu I’d like to try. More then likely I would go back.

I have always had a good meal any time I’ve eaten there. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. The mood and overall décor and ambiance is upbeat. In short all good. Except-except-the beer selection is disappointing. The do not serve even one IPA. I hope the owners update their beer list soon. Other than that I highly recommend TV Diner.

Great Prices, Great atmosphere, Great menu, Great Food!!! Stopped in here for Sunday breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised. Usually I spend my Sunday’s downtown Detroit exploring different gastro-like food brunch spots so the run of the mill coney island breakfast specials just don’t do it for me. Inside it is very«50’s style diner». You do get a feel of it being a bit dingy– old but overall the floors, tables and silverware are clean and the staff were all friendly. You could tell a lot of regulars dined here. There was no wait, but they had a steady flow of people throughout my dining experience. Service was quick and on-point. Our food didn’t take long at all. The prices are all very reasonable and they serve alcoholic drinks!!! Yes, they have bloody mary’s for only $ 4.50 and mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice. Their bloody mary’s were excellent. You could tell they use tomato juice and some fixings instead of a bottled mix. For around $ 8 I ordered the BT Benedict(Bacon Tomato Benedict). It came with a side of cheesy grits of house potatoes. Most places I’ve been the order just comes with the Benedict and it is priced around $ 9, $ 10. I liked they had a variety of benedicts to order. The grilled tomato and crispy bacon paired awesomely with the hollandaise sauce and poached egg. My friend had the classic Benedict and the piece of Canadian ham on the English muffin was thick and very generous. Both potions were very generous. I couldn’t even finish my helping. I only glanced at the lunch and dinner menu, but I’m sure the food is just as tasty! If you’re looking for a laid back reasonably priced place to dine with family or close friends I would recommend this place in a heart beat!

Love their soups, especially the lobster bisque. The burgers are great, and the blue plate specials are always a good value. For breakfast, they have a few varieties of eggs Benedict, and they are all amazing(the hollandaise sauce is homemade). They also make some great homemade desserts, but some are not homemade, so always ask which ones are.

I don’t know how I heard about this place, but I had it bookmarked for a while, and finally got a chance to stop in yesterday and check it out. Some of it was good, some of it was not, but overall, not a terrible experience. For starters, the place is uniquely decorated. Black and white checkered table clothes, along with an outstanding menu with tons of stuff to choose from! The date and I had a hard time deciding what to get, but we finally settled on our dishes. I went with the half sandwich and soup, and the date got chili and a burger. I was surprised at how big the bowl of lobster bisque was! It was tasty, but maybe a bit heavy on the cream, but still good none the less. The date’s chili was good, and so was his burger and fries. The server was pleasant, but seemed a bit nervous at times. As a side note, I will say, I did walk in and notice that a cheesecake was sitting on the counter unattended on a plate that looked like someone had served it up and forgot to put it away. It was still there when we left. Also, the sandwich I had was okay. Not the greatest, but not the worst either. I thought it was to come with lettuce tomato and all the fixings, but it was just pastrami with cheese on toasted white bread. I didn’t think about it until after I left. The bisque was so filling, and we both were so hungry that I don’t think either one of us noticed. Overall, this place is okay, and I’m willing to give it a shot a few more times. The menu is large enough that there’s plenty of other stuff to choose from, and I’m willing to come back in the future when I’m on this side of town. Prices are more then fair, and they usually have groupon vouchers if your interested.

When I first tried TV’s it was for breakfast a few years ago. The menu offerings were better than your typical coney place and the coffee made it worthwhile. Nothing worse than ‘dirty water’ that is supposed to pass for coffee. But the last visit really turned me off. This place is D-I-R-T-Y! I had to ask for clean silverware 3 times! The general ambiance is grubby at best and that leaves me wondering what the kitchen is like. If you can’t keep your service pieces clean, are you practicing good sanitation elsewhere? It’s really too bad… They had a good breakfast menu.

Well I hate to write derogatory reviews but when needed I feel obligated to do so. Wife, Mother, and I went to TV’s Deli & Diner for dinner since we were in the area. Pulling up you could tell it was a family owned diner(which I like) but was fairly run down on the outside. Do I think looks make the quality of food? Not at all but cleanliness help my first impression and this was not. Upon entering, the staff was very nice but the impression continued. Stuff cluttered around the front desk, tables wiped off but not clean, and the menus were covered in filth! It’s not hard… Menus need to be cleaned people! Sitting at the counter was a young kid, probably in his 30s that was mumbling to himself and to others. He was def on some type of drug. He was sweating and started yelling profanity and the cooks and to the air. Eventually someone came over and asked him to be quiet but he should have been asked to leave a long time ago. Still looking forward to the food we ordered and we were not impressed. 2 of us ordered the«famous» lobster bisque and we were disappointed on how salty it was. Believe me; I like salt as much as the next person but this was unbearable. We didn’t eat either of them. Wife ordered the mushroom swiss burger and was not impressed. It wasn’t terrible but was not impressed. Mother ordered the fish. She did like the fish and said that she would order it again but probably by carry out only. I ordered the turkey Rueben and it was made with sliced turkey lunchmeat. A family style dinner and you don’t have any real turkey? Frencj fries were good but when aren’t they!!! With all that said I understand is a small dinner that keeps prices down by serving a particular type of food. I know this type of restaurant has it place but it’s not for me. The price is fair and the food is… ehh… maybe fair. My suggestion would be clean the place(top to bottom and often) and really specialize on a few dishes. I also suggest everyone try TV’s for yourself because this review is my opinion and yours may be different.
