City Lights Electrician

Mr. Luca is great! This is the first time I’ve ever posted on Unilocal and it’s only for him. Helpful, explained things well, reasonably priced, and just did a fantastic job. Highly recommended!

Mr. Luca came to my house to fix a breaker. He fixed the problem and was so knowledgeable and open about what he was doing and why, that I asked him to look at three other challenges I had with my older home. He is polite, fair, and competitively priced. I recommend his work and counsel on all things electrical to anyone in the DC Metro and and Northern Virginia area. That would include breakers, generators, and updating wiring to meet safety requirements.
I will continue to call in and recommend Mr. Luca.

Mr. Luka installed our outdoor lights, our indoor outdoor lights, 4 fans as well as some general electric work. He was thorough, courteous and very good electrician. I would recommend him wholeheartedly as he is now «my only electrician,» as I will not call anyone else but him.

Viorel Luca with City Lights is an amazing electrician. He is based out of Virginia, but also does work in surrounding areas and I believe he does both small and big jobs.
We hired him to rewire our two story row-​house in DC after our last electrician demanded more money than we had agreed to pay him and then walked off the job. Our project is fairly complicated with both high and low voltage (internet, cable, cctv), and lots of appliances and power outlets and light fixtures all over. Luca gave us a reasonable quote and all his references were positive. He started work right away, was on time and on the job when he said he was going to be, and, most importantly did an amazing job on the wiring. He accommodated changes that we wanted to make for a fair additional price and fixed the problems created by the last electrician. He also suggested ways to improve our project, such as adding an additional light in an area that he thought was underlighted (which it was). He even redid when he was not satisfied with how he or his helper has done them in the first instance, without us having to promt him to redo the things (some of which we didn’t even notice). We passed our rough-​in inspection easily, with D.C.‘s building inspector saying several times that the work was «very pretty,» which I thought was hilarious. I did agree though, because Luca ran the wires in straight lines and attached them securely to our studs using clips so that we wouldn’t accidentally drill into them. It has been a pleasure working with Luca. He is a reliable and thorough contractor and his prices are reasonable. He is easy to work with and is not defensive when you point out a thing or two he may have missed. And he did an extremely good job!
I recommended him to a couple of friends who had small electrical projects, and one of them hired him. From what I hear, he figured out the problem very quickly and easily, and also suggested that they not do what they wanted to do (upgrading their circuit breaker) because it was unnecessary and would be fairly costly. The point is, he didn’t try to sell them unnecessary work.
I strongly recommend him!!! You will be very happy.
