A pretty good Mexican joint in Trinidad. +Their carne asada quesadilla is amazing! +Love their steak, chorizo, egg & cheese breakfast burrito. +A nice alternative to Taco Bell for sure. :) –Seating is very limited. Don’t go if you’re a large group. –No wi-fi. –They’re tacos come out soggy. Whatever stuff they put in them has some liquid, making their tacos drippy. You’ll have a pool of it on your plate. I hate that.

Pre made guacamole and sopes. Only 2 small shrimp in my shrimp taco, which was made with miracle whip instead of mayo. Gross.

Did I come on an off day? First the gentleman at the counter is nice and patient while you order the food. The prices are pretty cheap. My order came out fairly quickly, I ordered the carnitas burrito with guacamole, smothered in green chili. The carnitas was in huge chunks with a lot of fat and not very tender. The burrito may have been rolled in 2 tortillas because 1 worth 500 calories isn’t enough? The double rolling means just a tougher consistency while trying to get up in it. The green chili was decent, but I couldn’t eat my burrito. Luckily I ordered sopapillas, so that was my dinner.

Judging by the outside you wouldn’t think that they make great Mexican food. Whether it taquitos with cheese and guacamole for the kids or sopes and burritos they did an amazing job. Defiantly a place to stop while traveling through.

A great little place in Trinidad. I found Habaneros on Unilocal while looking for a place to have lunch on our way to Santa Fe, N.M. I had the days special which was carnitas tacos. Absolutely delish! The menu is very extensive for such a small place and the food was quality. I only wish I lived closer so I could try many of the other items on the menu that were calling my name.

Used Unilocal to find an alternative to the chain-restaurant fast food choices in Trinidad while on a road trip. Quick service, wide variety in the menu and good prices. The super nachos were very good(and large enough for my husband and I to share). Also tried the shrimp tacos, if I would have known the shrimp was fried and not grilled I would have ordered something different. The homemade salas were very good.

Just sitting here waiting for the train. Saw this place and gave it a try. Ordered a carnitas taco and a fish taco which came with rice and beans. They were great ! Just some good down home Mexican food. Don’t miss this place.

The breakfast burritos are unbelievable! They have chorizo(my favorite), bacon and ham. The make green sauce that adds a great taste or a red hot sauce if you’re up for it. The owners and workers provide great and quick service. It’s a great place for breakfast. If you head for lunch, which is equally good, be prepared for a crowded sitting area.

We stopped here on a whim and were very happy that we did! The place has authentic Mexican food, legit tacos. Its the type of place that you order, self seat, eat and then clean up your self. The quality of the food was very fresh aswell. Great place, ill be sure to go back!

Pleasantly good. As the other reviews stated, it is quite small, more of a place to order and go, even tho there are a couple of tables and chairs. The food is made to order, tastes fresh. There is a small salsa selection of a tomatillo green sauce, red sauce, pico, and some pickled peppers. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered except the green chile and the ground beef taco. The ground beef taco shell appears and tastes like it is out of box, the meat is tasteless and watering, so much so it sogs the shell. Now the shredded beef taco is amazing, the meat has great flavor and shell is freshly cooked to a nice crispy texture. The green chile was bland. The breakfast burritos have been very good. Service is friendly, the place is clean and it is one of the few places in the area that is worth returning to for faily decent food.

Passing through Trinidad and stopped in for a quick bite. Green chili is good. Enjoyed the smothered burritos and crispy beef tacos. Very good, big menu, reasonable prices, big portions.

Great Mexican food. Service was great. Prices are affordable which is perfect for the college students across the street. We had lunch and ordered the carne asada, shrimp tacos and burrito. We got our food within five minutes and paid $ 18 including drinks. They make their own tasty pico de gallo, tomatillo and habenero sauce. Don’t let the exterior of the building scare you. It’s a hole in the wall place. They only have four tables. I would recommend this place over the fast food chains across the tracks.

This is the type of Mexican restaurant I have been looking for ever since i was stationed in San Diego, while in the navy. You know the type of places that you are scared to go to, because they are just a little building, with an order window, and maybe a couple of tables outside. But your friend’s brother’s room mate says they have the Best Carne Asada, so you swallow your fear, and hope they speak enough English so you can order your food. So long story short, this is the place where you go for amazing Carne Asada, Yes the place is small, yes there aren’t a lot of seats. Yes you get your food fairly quickly, and yes everybody is very friendly. But consider this review coming from the room mate of your friends brother. If you have ever been to one of those sketchy Mexican hole in the wall restaurants in southern California, and have been searching for that amazing experience again, this is where you want to go. I have found a new favorite Mexican food restaurant, and can’t wait for lunch time to go back.

Decent food for an affordable price. I hope they switch over from canned guac to fresh made. Pulling up the place was sketch, but we we’re feeling lucky. The parking lot is tiny. Inside was small(seats 12 – 16). The cashier was pleasant. We got our food quickly. Place was a standard Mexican joint. If you don’t want fast food, then this is your place.
