Delicious. Reasonable. GREAT coffee! Came in for breakfast at the recommendation of our hotel, and so glad we did. Friendly people, perfect little spot. The gift shop(gallery) is very reasonably priced too. Well worth a visit!

Great tasting food but the décor and facilities are lack luster, and the servings were kinda puny, especially for the price. The service was pretty spotty as well.

We had a wonderful time at this little gem in Trinidad. We came in for breakfast, and it was pretty busy for a weekday morning. I had their house coffee, and it was pretty good. As a group of 3 we shared a cinnamon roll, French toast, and the spud. The spud was pretty cool, it had a kitchen sink vibe to it. We took a peak at the dinner menu and decided that we are coming back for dinner tonight. I will probably write another review later on tonight after dinner. As for the service it was okay. I like that the waitresses aren’t pushy and seem very kind/genuine. I highly suggest this place. Next time I will try the 9-grain pancakes for breakfast. Can’t wait to try the seafood for dinner!

We took my whole family to lunch(party of 8), they were her visiting… I couldn’t have been more embarrassed and disappointed by the service. The waitress was so unfriendly, made a mistake on the bill, and was rude to my parents when they asked about it. Then my father was buying bracelets in the gift shop for all the girls and again the rude cashier argued with him when she didn’t charge him enough! He was trying to give this local business more money and got such attitude in return. A tourist from Redding at the counter was trying to get chowder to go struck up a conversation with my folks about the horribly rude service. The food was good but not worth putting up with being treated poorly.

We stopped here by chance as we were coming into town based on a Unilocal review! Best decision! The fish, shrimp, and chips are outstanding and the clam chowder is amazing! The double decker BLT was pretty tasty too! Because another Unilocal reviewer said the Blackberry Cobbler is to die for, we just had to try it! It did NOT disappoint!

We have eaten dinner here twice and been very happy to find such a solid choice in this small village. Ambiance is diner/family restaurant with a few artsy touches(and a few drafts). Food is what one always hopes for, but seldom gets, in a diner. Mostly standard dishes very competently prepared and presented with good quality ingredients and a few intriguing specials. Companion, who orders ciopinno whenever offered, was very complementary about this version. FIsh and chips showed a deft hand at the fryer; coleslaw, our neverending research category, slightly better than average. Pleasant staff. Unilocal listing currently shows only open for dinner certain days but I think current signs have extended hours.

We had breakfast here — and it was really good. Hubby had the two egg breakfast — he did ask for no butter since he is lactose intolerant however they did butter his toast. Our server was apologetic for the mix up and got him another order of toast right away.) She even made sure his eggs and hash browns weren’t cooked in butter.) I had scrambled eggs and the short stack — pancakes are huge and were fluffy and delicious! Would love to come back!

Do not drive past this place without stopping if you love GREAT clam chowder. Creamy and thick because it is packed with clams. A cup, a bread bowl, or the Super Bowl which comes with garlic-cheese toast-just like it is suppose to be served. Best I had in all California. The crab melt was served with big lumps of fresh crab on sourdough bread. Others I ate lunch with ordered the fish and chips and said the cod was cooked deliciously. Another had the Calamari and fries saying it was perfectly cooked not rubbery or limp. The batter was light and crisp. We were too full for the blackberry cobbler and ice cream, but plan to go back for a late night snack one night soon before we leave. Great service, excellent wine list, ambiance was bright and cheerful. Music was early pop and perfect for name the tune and artist dinner conversations taking everyone back to earlier days Not a place to be missed! Seriously.

While traveling from Southern California to the area around Eureka for some sightseeing, I had the pleasure of eating at Trinidad Eatery. I can’t remember too many details of my visit, as it’s almost been a year, but let me share what I do remember. The ambience of the place was definitely nice. The place was nice and quiet too. I remember ordering clam chowder and fish and chips. The clam chowder was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the garlic bread that accompanied it was excellent. The fish and chips were delicious as well, but honestly, compared to the clam chowder(which is the best dish at the place, according to a colleague of mine), the fish and chips aren’t as good; the cole slaw was tasty, but it was a little bland in my opinion. Overall, though, the food was excellent, and I couldn’t have asked for better. I hate to be that guy, by the way, but when I went there, I was served by a very attractive waitress. That might be a plus, too.

We tated our first ousters her of al times. This was good food. We love the combination of seafood and beers on draft. We did a flight of different beers and loved their stout beer. Combination of oysters from spice to fruity is pritty cuwl!

The hubby and I popped in for Easter dinner on our way to Eureka from seeing Crater Lake. We shared the crab cakes(average and barely luke warm), and both ordered the clam chowder(good but again, barely warm) and the Cajun Shrimp fettuccine(good flavored sauce, shrimp were tender but hardly seasoned, pasta had good consistency). We both agreed that this restaurant is overpriced.

Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine’s Day dinner. My husband had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection. I had the clam linguine, so fresh and the sauce was so good. The food had pretty presentation as well as taste. Great service too! Such a sweet town, Trinidad is a treasure!

Pretty good eatery. Went with my sister on a Sunday. We waited only a few minutes for a table. I ordered the fish and chips, she ordered the steamed clams. Her clams were really tasty. The fish and chips were ffffrrrresh. Large portions of fish. Would come and try another meal

I have been meaning to review this restaurant since we were there this summer, but now that I’m vacationing in Ventura and had what used to be my favorite clam chowder, I discover The Eatery chowder is SO much better. My fiancé and I thought so at the time(in fact, we went out to eat there twice in the time we were in Trinidad because it was so good!), and eating other chowder that we USED to think was fabulous, just reinforced it! I’m sorry I cannot yet review their other dishes. I can’t seem to talk myself into ordering anything but the chowder in the bread bowl! Maybe when we come back this coming spring? No promises, though. Chowder is too good!

It pains me to write this, as I had high hopes for this place. I was frustrated because service wasn’t very good. I was served soup without napkins. Then I had to ask for oyster crackers(which I noticed others got with their chowder but I didn’t). Then when my main dish came, I had to ask for fresh napkins and utensils because I had no fork or knife. I even had to ask for a refill for my drink. I asked for fish and chips, but didn’t want the french fries, though I wanted the cole slaw. I asked if I substitute something else instead, which seemed to fluster the waitress. So I asked if I could get a small cup of the clam chowder instead. When she balked, I said, «I’d be happy to pay for it» figuring I wouldn’t get charged for the fries anyway. The chowder was quite good. There was no discount given for no fries, apparently. When the fish arrived, there were 3 lovely generous pieces, though a little bland. But the plate was missing cole slaw(which I think other fish and chips plates seemed to get). So I asked the server about that. «Oh, I forgot.» I sighed. Then I thought, where’s the malt vinegar? Who serves fish and chips without malt vinegar? So then I had to flag her down again and ask for that too. Overall, I felt like I had to practically beg for what seemed like very simple basic service that should’ve been a no-brainer for a meal that, with tip, was close to $ 30. Perhaps it was an off day, perhaps there was a new server.

Cobbler, cobbler, cobbler, cobbler. That’s all I can say. Because every time I drive through Trinidad, I must stop and eat here. Cobbler, cobbler, cobbler, cobbler. The service is always good, too. The food is great. I love the mellow atmosphere and the mix of locals and tourists. But yeah, it’s all about the cobbler here. Don’t miss it.

Had the pleasure of going here while staying at Trinidad B&B for a few nights. As Trinidad Bay Eatery(TBE) was right around the corner, my dad and I decided to walk over for an early dinner one afternoon. Food: We split the Parmesan Calamari as an appetizer, I thought it was great, the aioli dipping sauce its served with was the perfect compliment to the warm and tender Calamari. Since I tried the clam chowder at Seascape I wanted to try it at TBE for comparison purposes. I found the chowder to be slightly thicker, and slightly more flavorful here at TBE. I had the crab cake as my entrée. There wasn’t anything particularly wrong with the crab cakes, probably just wasn’t the best choice on my part. As someone who visits Baltimore frequently, the Dungeness crab meat @ TBE doesn’t compare to jumbo, lump crab meat. Service: Thought the service was awesome! We had the sweetest, friendliest waitress we could have asked for. She got our orders correct, and everything was brought out in a timely fashion. She was also really patient, and jovial as my pops tried to make up his mind regarding desert. Parking: As stated earlier, we walked there, but there did seem to be some parking off to the right as you’re entering. Overall: I really dug the small/beach town vibe this place gave off, it seemed authentic. TBE certainly does not have the view of Seascape, but the food is just as good if not better(sorry Seascape!). At TBE you get a great combination of affordability, ambiance, and food.

I got the fish and chips and they were absolutely delicious. My coworker got the seafood platter but the best part wasn’t the food. Our server Amber A was absolutely awesome! She was super cheery and happy as if she enjoyed her job so much! She gave great service and you should be lucky to get her as your server. She could put a smile on a grumpy cat! thank you Amber A for providing such awesome service! Keep smiling like I’m sure you’ll always do!!! Oh and i think the dessert place is part of the restaurant. Holy crap get the orange creamsicle fudge! I got a pound of it on thursday and just finished it this morning! You get a $ 1 off for eating at the restaurant.

Definitely one of my better eating experiences in the Eureka/Arcata/Trinidad area. One block away from the water located, smallish yet quaint ambiance. Started things off with some(local?) oysters at $ 2.50 a piece — they tasty. The«champagne battered» fish & chips were real tasty as well. Not some cheapo, over-battered fried fish. The GF’s red curry scallops was good as well. Service was pretty good overall, which really separated this place from all the rest. Definitely a place to go when stopping through this area.

Trinidad is a beautiful city! Gorgeous views. Slim pickings in dinner but the Eatery is good. It’s a gift shop with fudge & espresso stand connected to the café/diner. Small set up. We got oysters to start. Our server oddly could not confirm their origin., local Trinidad bay, Humboldt bay? Probably. $ 2.50 each; pretty tasty. Red curry scallops with rice & zucchini. So good! Big meaty scallops with a spicy kick of curry. Very good, spendy but delicious. After we walked down to the lighthouse: a must see. Beautiful bay & you can see the fishermen at work!

From the outside, I wasn’t expecting much here, but very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. We both had specials, I had a porterhouse steak with new potatoes and veg, she had herbed chicken with pilaf rice and veg. Veg included Brussels sprouts and okra, which were very good. My steak was very tender and huge. Only critique would be that there was too much oils and fats involved, which made an already rich dinner overly rich, and hid some of the basic flavors of the primary ingredients. All the ingredients were top quality. Interesting to see a good representation of local wines.
