Had the Rustler burger and let me say the patty was extremely dry and over cooked. Never tasted leather before but I imagine it would taste something like this. Our table had three different burgers and they my were all way over cooked the same way. The portobello mushroom burger and fish and chips were edible.

Great food, well worth the short drive from the Ruby’s monopoly of mediocrity. Awesome fresh bread and local brews on tap. The chicken taco plate was as good as it gets. The real gem of the night was our server Victoria, she made us feel like guests at HER house. Great meal and good times!

This restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel so we decided to give it a shot. We were seated right away and the server came over with bread, butter and water. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered wine. The drinks came out right away. My husband and I ordered the steak, potato and side salad. The salad was excellent with a great tasting dressing. The steaks were cooked like a steakhouse here at home and had a good flavor. Our kids ordered a hamburger and Pasta. Both said they were good tasting. Our server brought refills of both water and soda. Our food came out to us at a reasonable time. We lost our server for a bit, not sure where he went but got worried when we had long finished eating and we were the last people in the place, which was weird because there were several people when we walked in. Other servers were clearly cleaning up the place to go home so we almost asked one of them if our server had gone home. He finally came over and asked about dessert, we said no just the check. He came over promptly with the check. All in all a good place to eat in a small little town. Food is not overly priced with good menu choices. I’d eat here again and recommend this place to other people.

Make sure if you’re in bryce you eat in tropic. This place is great with good choices and the burgers are terrific. Stay away from the horrible tourist traps in bryce city that Ruby runs.

We decided to have a nice big hot breakfast before full day of hiking. We were all a bit disappointed. We felt it was a bit overpriced for average fare, but there isn’t much available in town if you want a hot breakfast. The bacon was rubbery, scrambled eggs over cooked and biscuits were disappointing. All four of us ordered something different, but there was nothing very special about any of our breakfasts. It was adequate and the coffee was OK, but overall on the pricey side for what we got.

This was literally the only restaurant open after our evening hike, and actually it was technically past closing when we showed up, but the staff were nice enough to seat us anyway. We both ordered Texmex dishes(quesadilla and tacos) and were pleasantly surprised. The chicken was flavored well. I wouldn’t bother with the side salad again, but in a pinch this place was totally fine.

We ate here(signs say both Clarke’s and Rustler’s, which is confusing!) while spending the night locally after exploring Bryce Canyon. My trout with sweet potato fries was good. My husband ordered chicken breasts and was served some kind of smashed chicken that seemed to me to be tenderloins pounded flat. It was very dry and tough, and it had the blandest flavor. He had a stomach ache(and more) all night, starting a few hours after eating there. The service was extremely slow, though there were 2 servers and exactly 3 other(small) tables of people in the restaurant. Given the lack of options in the area, I would recommend either bringing your own food to the area or not staying long enough to need to eat a meal. Oh, or get food at the General Store in Bryce Canyon! We easily found enough decent food for lunch there. Perhaps try the Bryce Canyon Lodge restaurant too? Just avoid Clarke’s/Rustler’s!

Nice little restaurant with some solid menu choices. We enjoyed a nice dinner here. We were seated promptly, brought bread and water by the host and then no server appeared. We started laughing about being invisible. Finally a hostess noticed that we hadn’t been tended to and sent our server over. She apologized and was as nice as could be. I ordered the flat iron steak medium rare with baked potato and a side salad. The salad was fresh and crisp. The steak was cooked perfectly but was not a tender cut as described in the menu, but as this was not a steak house I wasn’t expecting much either, I was not disappointed. The baked potato was served with a plastic ramekin with frozen butter on the bottom and a dollop of sour cream on the top. Sadly by the time you get the butter to melt on the steaming hot potato, the potato is cold from the frozen butter. My friend had the salmon and enjoyed it without the mango salsa. Very few restaurant options in Tropic and will probably search out something different for our second night.

Ate here on our way out of UT, headed back to AZ. When we walked in, there was a sign that instructed us to seat ourselves. That worried me a bit with regard to the service, but we grabbed a couple of menus anyway & took a seat. We were immediately tended to by a young man named Luke. Guessing high school age. Very polite & friendly. We placed our order with him(the sub sandwich w/turkey & roast beef with a side of sweet potato fries and 2 Cokes… mmm) and he’s back with our drinks in a jiffy. I ask for the Wi-Fi password & he writes it down for me. Our food arrives after about 10 minutes and it was great! The sub roll was toasted and the ingredients really came together nicely… the 2 lunch meats, lettuce, banana peppers, oil & vinegar. Delicious. The fries were a bit over cooked, but still edible. We didn’t leave a crumb on the plates. Our quick experience at Clarke’s Restaurant(Rustler’s Restaurant?) was an excellent one. Great food, great service. Keep that up and I’ll definitely stop by next time I’m in town!

As the other reviewers, we were visiting the local parks and found ourselves with few options in the area to eat. All three of us ordered a burger for lunch, but different ones. We were all blown away by how excellent our food was. Hands down it was the best food we ate during our whole trip and I’m still thinking fondly of that burger a week later. I also had the sweet potato fries, which is always a risky order when half of the places make them limp and sad. But their sweet potato fries were perfect. Highly recommend.

I went to dinner last night and had the grilled salmon. There was no taste and the mango salsa was flavorless. Although my husband’s pork ribs were excellent and so was the pasta with shrimp. The waitress Carla was very informative and friendly. I thought the prices were a little high. The food was cheaper at Zion national Park and Bryce Canyon national Park.

Great service. Nice atmosphere. The neighborhood only had two restaurants so we decided we wanted something besides pizza. Ordered the onion petal that wasn’t that good but the wild mushroom pasta was surprisingly better than expected.

We were looking for a good meal at a good price. Clarke’s delivered I had the Trout, my wife the portobello burger, my daughter the burger and my son the NY strip I tried them all and each one was great. Skip the tourist traps by rubies inn. Clark’s is the best deal. Both great food and great service.

Just passing through. Hungry and stopped for a late lunch at the first place we came to. Struck gold! Food was excellent! 2 burgers + 2 kids meals. HAPPY family. The place was clean and nicely decorated too… and connected to a convenience store so easy to grab anything you need before getting back on the road.

Can’t provide anything useful because I didn’t eat at this place. What I can offer is the following. The aroma walking into the place was delicious. The menu is simple American food. Hamburgers was the big item.

I had it on good advice that this was a great place to find a decent meal. And they were right. This cute little rustic diner delivered some excellent croissant breakfast sandwiches before we headed north to Capitol Reef. They are located on Highway 12, a most beautiful and desireable way to go, as long as weather permits. Croissant Breakfast Sandwich: The egg was not scrambled(they didn’t ask) but instead, fried until the yolk was hard. The cheese was probably American cheese or a very mild cheddar. There was a slice of tomato and the croissant was spread with mayo, but there was a nice generous slice of excellent tasting ham that made me happy many times over. The croissant was flaky and fresh, definitely a good one. And it was big. The exterior looked like something out of an 1890’s Western cowboy movie, the interior resembled a very cheerfully decorated European Chalet, with warm cedar covered walls and open beam ceilings. Not sure if this is the norm, but we found ourselves surrounded by all French and German speaking tourists who appeared to have vouchers for their breakfast, probably part of their tour package. And it appeared that many of the actual restaurant personnel were also European. That part of it struck me as not quite as warm and friendly or attentive as some of our other restaurant stops had been, however it was not a deal breaker. My only negative observation was that the servers seemed aloof and did not help each other out. If someone wished a coffee or water refill, or anything else, it *had* to be done by their own server. They would be flatly turned down if they mistakenly asked the wrong person. Rather disappointing if your server disappeared for long periods of time, which they did. Keeping that in mind, make sure all your needs are expressly stated before your server disappears. Otherwise, enjoy a decent breakfast meal.

Stayed here for a couple days and ate at this place on 3 different occasions. The service is severely sub par and the food even more so. The first night we had dinner. A new York strip and fresh steamed veggies sounds good right? I thought so too until it came. The steak was maybe half an inch thick and quite dry, and the fresh steamed veggies were probably boiled and left to sit in the water after. They were so limp and water logged I got more water when I bit into them than I did out of my glass of water on the table. That was only dinner. Oh and don’t expect seasoning on anything. If you stay at the hotel next to the restaurant your free breakfast is a ticket you take to the restaurant. The breakfast was better than dinner, but only by a fraction. Plus, it’s kind of hard to mess up bacon and eggs. The service was unbelievable to watch. I would say the majority of customers are probably foreign tourists that do not have English as a first language. The staff seemed like it was the biggest inconvenience that you came in to eat, might check on you during the meal and were far more likely to outright ignore you. I watched an Asian lady trying to get an extra set of silverware get walked by and blatantly ignored at least half a dozen times. Only reason it’s not one star, the coffee actually wasn’t the most terrible thing.

«Reserve the right for 18% gratuity, because of our fresh produce and ingredients.» I had half BBQ chicken breast with side of seasoned French fries, and complementary canned beans. The chicken breast was very very dry, and as such hard to swallow without lots of water. The extremities were tender and easily pulled off. The skin was not crispy or layered in sauce. But the BBQ sauce was nothing special, for a homemade sauce one could really mistake it for the mass production brand. Although whether this is a detraction is up to your preference. Beans were the tasteless and slightly more tender than an over boiled carrot. Fries were good: Crunchy and chewy, salty and spiced, served warm. No complains here. Portion wise it was filling. The service was okay, and the decorum matches the touristy circumstance of Bryce. This is your typical touristy Ritzy food, trying too hard to be homey, instead of actually being homey southern comfort food. You are better off buying dinner from the grocery store next door.

The best restaurant near Bryce canyon national park. We were in that area for 2 days and we came here for lunch and dinner the first day and lunch on the second. The options are limited. The breakfast end time is pretty strict. We reached just when the breakfast was ending and we were told that the kitchen was already done with breakfast and was prepping for lunch only. The salads are awesome. The fish and pastas are delicious — never expected such quality from a remote place like this. The sandwiches were decent. The only dish I didn’t like here was the veggie burger.

Again, very few places open during the winter season. I had the Blueberry Waffle combo, they charge extra for combos, so my eggs, bacon and waffles came out to close to $ 13, didn’t even get any toast or hash browns. The waffle was equivalent to what you would make at a continental breakfast at your hotel. But I have to say, the fresh blueberries on top were the best darn blueberries I’ve ever had! They were huge and juicy, they tasted like they were just picked. They offer free Wi-Fi.
