Some of the best damn chicken I ever had! I don’t know what their secret is but I promise you it is soooo freaking delicious! Wide variety of veggies and meats on buffet. Peach cobbler is also yummy. Excellent service and food!

Really nice, big, old house. By the looks, thought the food selection would be great. It’s basically a Piccadilly food line set up or you can be seated and served, but the choices are limited.

Southern cooking. Friendly staff. Eaten there twice. Once family style in evening and lunch buffet. Both excellent. Fried chicken special and roast and gravy over rice. Cabbage slaw excellent.

Delicious home cooking with all the fixins… Staff is always super sweet. Go for dinner and get the family style where they bring massive amounts of food to your table or go through the buffet line like K&W cafeteria and pay for what you want. If you go during lunch, they have a lunch buffet for 8 $. I love their fried chicken. I’ve been craving it since I went and have already been 3 times in 2 weeks. Go check them out if you haven’t already. If your appreciate good southern cooking, you’ll be in love…

Ok, some of the best fried chicken you are ever going to eat! And at lunch it’s all you can eat for 8 bucks#!?$! Beat that! Dinner is family style, with dishes brought to the table.

Good place to go after a soccer game with the kids cause wait times are short, cafeteria style. Veggies are bland, from a can keep that in mind. The times to go are when they have fried chicken or ribs. It’s al la carte so if you have small picky eaters this will be perfect. I love the house it’s in and it’s clean.

The Talley House has been apart of my life for 25+ years and I couldn’t imagine visiting Troutman/Statesville without it… My grandmother, Shirley Shaver has lived in this area her entire life. As good grand daughters do they make time to visit. We always come here for lunch after church. It’s just what we’ve always done and I don’t plan on ever changing it. The love that it is located in a family owned house. Makes you feel as your eating @ someone’s house rather than a restaurant. Two story, quaint house, with a large front porch for doing some serious rocking! Inside you self serve with a cafeteria style routine. Once you have your tray full, you pay @ the end of the line and seat yourself. The food is always southern, tasty. In my opinion I call it «soul food» because it always makes you feel good. If you’re in the area give Julia’s Talley House a try…

The food is excellent especially the pan fried chicken, not greasy at all. The veggies are all home made and taste like your grandma used to make. The staff is friendly and very helpful, we will definitely go back. It is a great family value for what you get and we like the option of the Cafeteria line and the family style servings.

The entire family and I showed up about 30 minutes to closing on a saturday night and they were happy to see us. Greeted us at the door and explained the Dining Options. There was a buffet or «family style.» We chose family style and they offer two main courses(meats) and four sides. We chose Hamburger Steak and the Fried Chicken. The Chicken was AMAZING!!! hands down some of the best bird I have ever had. Blew Mother and Sons’(Paula Dean’s restaurant) out of the water. The dishes are all you can eat and are refilled promptly. Dessert was included and turned out to be Banana Pudding which is always good. If you are looking for a great dinner for a large party, try the family style; it was awesome. Can’t comment on the Buffett but I believe they had the same food.

Grandma’s home cookin’. Small«so-so» cafeteria style buffet. Cash only!

Staff is friendly and the facility is family friendly, but it’s cafeteria style and there isn’t much variety. The food is ‘so-so’. There is nothing remotely healthy. No credit cards.

Hmm… I’ve been here twice now. This place is supposed to be something along the lines of southern«mom’s home cookin» but it really falls short even of that. I was born in the south and I’ve lived here my whole life but my mother cooks much better than this. The corn and greens are obviously from a can, the meats are rather dry and I once had a piece of cake that had sat out on the bar so long it dried out an got hard on one side. Even mom knows that if you leave a piece of cake out it should at least be covered by plastic wrap. And I know everybody hates when food sitting on a bar forms that filmy layer on it. Staff is overall nice and attentive. The old house is also pretty cool and adds that old country feel, especially when the floor boards creek. But these aren’t points that will keep me coming back.

Nice if you enjoy southern homestyle cookin. Super fried chicken and the best sweet potato and apple mix I have ever tasted. They went through a couple of years where their quality was a little low, but now it is better than ever. During the week, an all you can eat buffet is standard. On the weekends, meals are served family style.

I went here for the first time I always see alot of cars. This is Southern food family style that has been here for many years. There are a couple of things that I noticed. The food was ok but… the chicken had a burnt taste I asked what it was cooked in they said canola oil maybe they needed to change the oil the chicken was moist that is a plus. The sides need help to me the corn was good Mac N cheese was baby food mush and so where green beans(Most people have teeth now days) the greens where bitter grand ma used a little sugar or maybe some seasoning for this problem. The price is cheap around 7 includes drink and tax thats maybe why all the people. The place could be cleaned up I picked up a tray and it had some sort of food on it thats nasty! That tells me they just wipe them off instead of dish washer nasty … I will go back maybe it was a bad day if its not better I will not be back!
