I have enjoyed some of the menu at Carols, but it can be very hit or miss. Today I ordered the shrimp and crab Louie, the Philly wrap, and the beef nachos. The Philly wrap was fine. The beef nachos were soggy and not at all appetising. There was not a lot of cheese and they just didn’t taste good. The menu did not say that the nachos have jalapeños. The Louie used imitation crab, and was seasoned so sweetly as to remind me of applesauce. It was not at all a good sandwich. I have ordered delivery from Carols on several occasions. I have had the same delivery driver every time. This time, my boyfriend had to physically show him on the ticket where the delivery instructions are. I am in school dorms, and they don’t have their own addresses. However, I always leave very specific instructions for the drivers because I know it can be confusing. Every time I have ordered, the delivery driver has not read the instructions, and has screamed at me both over the phone and in person about how it’s rude and a waste of his time. I am only leaving two stars because the food on previous occasions was better.

Just a run of the mill pizza joint with average food. And the people who you have to deal with are short and abrasive. It was like I was inconveniencing them on a whole new level to me. It’s all good, as there are many pizza places around my area that serve average food where the people are more patient and much nicer. I gave them one star for the specialty pies they make(Would give zero if I could otherwise). The ones I have ordered in the past have been good. But based on how I was treated multiple times when picking up food, I’m going to pass from now on. My advice is find a place that appreciates paying customers no matter what time of day it is. *Note* I reworded this review and resubmitted it after my first review was removed for content that didn’t review the restaurant properly. Hopefully, this one will be inside the lines.

Great food, great service, slow kitchen… Always have to wait extended periods of time to get what we order…

I jipped them a star on account a we did take out so I cannot speak for service, atmosphere or cleanliness. What I can tell you is that this place is the home of the best calzone I have ever eaten! Creamy flavorlicious ricotta, thin tasty crust(which I’ve never happened across with a calzone!) And mozz that was so freaking fresh it had a slight squeak which indicates it was likely made in house and same day! The only complaint I have is that the sauce was definitely a meat sauce rather than marinara, which really sucks when it sneaks up on a vegetarian. The price wasn’t bad considering I was almost completely satisfied. Damn that sauce.

Breakfast sandwiches are the best I’ve had. I always get delivery and they’re good on being on time. Love Carol’s place!

Great little place for breakfasts and lunch. 5 dollar Friday? How could we get so lucky? I got a breakfast sandwich with ham, egg and cheese. Great bread, toasted just right. Gooey cheese melting out the side of a perfectly cooked egg with a nice cut of ham. Yummy! My boyfriend got an omelet-said two eggs but looked like 4. Very big. Perfectly cooked. Thumbs up! We did pizza take out for dinner-the same day! Since the boyfriend is a native to Troy he already new, but the pizza was very good. I got an anti-pasta salad as well and it was packed with meats and cheese. Very good, very filling. Unilocalers need to go here. Carol’s don’t change a thing!

I’m a regular at Carol’s for breakfast. My girlfriends and I go frequently.(In my mind it’s our Upstate version of Sex and the City meeting for breakfast and catching up with each other… ok a stretch of the imagination? Yes… LOL) The food is delicious. Some times are busier than others, in particular $ 5 Friday’s. Friendly Waitstaff, we love Casey and Melissa, they are great and one of my friends is high maintenance(I mean sky high… unnecessarily high) when it comes to food. I’ve told her she needs to eat at home with all of those specifications with her order. I’m the opposite… or so I think! Ha! I hear they have good pizza. I’m stuck on the breakfast. I wouldn’t come here without your patience. It’s not an in and out place unless you order their takeout. I enjoy spending time with my friends and chatting so this works for us. It’s a smaller establishment with a very town-like vibe. It’s a little off the beaten path. Their specials are delicious so check the board. They also serve gluten-free bread, which a plus for me. I’m not gluten-free but I avoid it if possible. Try their potatoes, they are seasoned well with a little kick, I am salivating just thinking about them.

We first sampled Carol’s at a fundraising event. It was good enough to make us order from them. Carol’s is a thick crust, which is a nice alternative. It’s almost more bread like. They have a nice sauce. I like the varieties. Only downside to Carol’s is the parking if you pick up. We’ll be back.

My colleagues and I order from the breakfast menu quite frequently. Their delivery service is always great, especially when interfacing with Grub Hub to place our orders. After getting delivery a dozen or so times, I decided to take my significant other to Carol’s Place for lunch. We were blown away by how packed the place was. I knew their food was good, but the atmosphere was incredible and welcoming. What we ended up enduring was awful. It took me 30 minutes after ordering our meal to realize that we were not alone in having an empty table. Looking around the place, I could tell that everyone was fixed on the wait staff trying to figure out where their food was. We were all waiting for our food orders to come out, at which point I realized that I would have to go beyond my normally allotted 60 minute lunch break before we’d be served. Within moments it became clear that the wait staff couldn’t keep their calm. I overheard them discussing the issues they encountered in their kitchen; apparently they were short staffed. It made me uncomfortable to see a waitress place blame so easily, instead of being able to at least be accountable for what was happening. Finally food started to come out. It was exciting to watch the wait staff confront their patrons based on what they ordered. One lady sitting next to me was given fruit salad, but said that she had ordered home fries instead. Naturally the waitress pulled out her pad to prove to the customer that she had written down fruit salad instead of home fries. I think she realized how foolish she looked and moments later she took the plate back to the kitchen, only to bring it back out with a side of fruit salad still intact. We wanted to leave, but instead opted to endure more punishment. When our food finally arrived, it was clear that we were in the same standing as the regular customers that were sitting next to us. We had ordered a turkey club, which had three slices of toast without any sign of mayo. I made the mistake of taking a bite into the sandwich without first inspecting it. The roof of my mouth was torn up by the dry slices of toast and again I was forced to wait until a remedy were to arrive in the form of multiple packets of mayo. Our waitress gave us our bill and apologized by taking $ 5 off. However, this was not enough incentive for a return visit. That being said, I have ordered breakfast delivery several times since our awful experience. As for my lady, I doubt she’ll ever want to do business with Carol’s Place again. Before leaving, the lady, who was erroneously given fruit salad repeatedly, leaned over and told us that Carol’s Place wasn’t always so bad. The breakfast pizza is delicious and the regulars are very committed to Carol’s Place. I hope you have a better experience than we had.

My husband and I checked this place out of weekend for brunch. Carol’s has a very cozy vibe and friendly service. The dining room is decorated with knick knacks and has lots of bookshelves. It’s cute and quirky. I ordered an omelette with toast and homefries. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict. My breakfast was pretty standard, and Carol’s did a good job. Eggs were cooked to my liking and overall everything was tasty. Nothing mind blowing, but it was satisfying. My husband enjoyed his Eggs Benedict. He was a big fan of the english muffins they used, and the waitress was kind enough to go hunt down the brand info for him. Overall, Carol’s seems like a solid place for a casual meal and I’m definitely interested in trying some of their lunch items.

I called and order pizza to be delivered, and one would think with all the calls a pizzeria gets that the person answering would be a pro on the phone. Not the woman I spoke to. She was rude and had an attitude when I asked if they had any specials on pizza. I didn’t realize I was inconveniencing her by asking her a simple question. Anyway… I waited for the pizza to come, I called at 5:51 and the pizza didn’t arrive until 7:25…and mind you its a Tuesday night, and all I ordered was a medium pizza and 10 wings, nothing that would justify such a wait. Oh and I live barely a HALFMILEAWAY. The pizza wasn’t bad at all, but the service definitely out weighed the taste of the food. Skip this place there’s lots of other pizza places in town. Side note: there was only pepperoni on half the pizza. Weird.

I would have liked to try this place this morning because I heard the food was good. I first called to place a breakfast order and was put on hold for over ten minutes. I decided they must be busy and I will go place an order and take it home. I got to the restaurant and probably could’ve went to the front counter and order breakfast from the bar but there was such a line I decided to wait until someone came and talked to the people waiting to be seated. After 15 minutes I decided to leave because not one person came to address the line waiting to eat. I have yet to try Carol’s and plan to never do so. FYI — I have never wrote a review about a restaurant before and created an account on here just write this post.

The breakfast here is amazing. When I go in on Sundays I love the different specials that they have on different french toasts, waffles, etc. I have never been disappointed. It’s family ran which is appreciated. Love it! Parking could improve for seniors in the area, as there isn’t much close/handicapped parking.

I go here a lot for Breakfast and Lunch. We also buy our pizza and subs here. Always been great, and the prices can’t be beat. Staff is super friendly too. It’s truly a shame to see people, for whatever reason, using Unilocal to make bizarre personal attacks on people here. This is no place for crass and weird personal attacks. Which, actually, says more about the attacker BTW. And«John C.», if you knew anything about Carols you’d know it was actually Anita who got the«restaurant» part of the business going(in 2008). Anyway, checkout the menu on their web site and visit Carol’s Place to try it for yourself. You’ll probably become a regular for Breakfast, Lunch and Pizza too :) They do great Catering too :)

This was our first time at Carol’s Place. It was great!!! We had no idea what we were in for and definitely over-ordered. The«tall» order of four pancakes is seriously like the size of an entire cake. But it was awesome. Ditto the French toast, sourdough toast, bacon and the coffee was great too. Loved it. Service was quick, food came out fast too. Mmmmm can’t wait to go back

My mom came to visit me and we got a small pie/chicken parm hero/garlic bread w/pepperoni. It was really delicious. You could tell they use quality ingredients. I moved here fromLongIsland 6 months ago and have been looking for a good pizza place and have found it in Carol’s Place. It was also cheap(less than 17 w/tax)

It may sound ridiculous to give a place 4 stars when all you have had is the antipasto and sweet potato fries, but both were super good. The antipasto was a good balance of veggies and meats. I hate it when I get one that is essentially a cold-cuts platter or when there are only 2 shreds of meat. Balance is key. And the veggies are fresh. And the large is only $ 6.50(its $ 12.50 at Red Front for the same size and the balance is way off at Red Front). The order of sweet potato fries is scooped into a brown paper bag and it is a ton of fries for $ 3.50.(Hell, you upgrade to sweet potato fries at a sit-down and its a $ 2 up charge for a handful… this was nearly 2 whole sweet potatoes). The woman who delivers to my Eastside neighborhood is really sweet.

Local! A pizza place next to a breakfast place — both with same namesake. Breakfast place is a great place for a weekend breakfast. We were greeted with portions of a berry cake before we sat down. Very friendly service.
