Attention all video producing, directing and/or editing gurus and wannabees: The Community Media Network is a nonprofit organization that provides video production training to residents of Oakland County. I’m currently taking the 10 week production certification course and its one of the best continuing education decisions I’ve ever made. The teachers are very experienced, friendly and laid back and the course itself is very hands-on, which is great for people who don’t like book work. CMN’s studio is equipped with lights, cameras, furniture/props, seating for a studio audience and even a green room. CMN also makes its traveling camera and van available to members. The membership and training courses are under $ 100 for residents of: Auburn Hills | Berkley | Clawson | Ferndale | Huntington Woods | Oakland Township Pleasant Ridge | Rochester | Rochester Hills | Royal Oak | Troy But residents from other cities are also welcome. Once members complete the 10-week training there is an opportunity for the shows produced and written to be aired on the WOW Cable station. Check out their website at
