The one star goes to the young man who checked us in and Dr. Sahara. But the sales experience? Beware of false advertising, abrasive sales people, lack of transparency and integrity, and POOR customer service. When getting ready to make our purchase, Robert, the gem of a salesman, stated that the 50% off frames offer posted in the store is only good if you buy lenses as well. The sign says in huge letters«50% off frames». That’s it. Nothing else. Oh, but wait. Super small print states, «Some restrictions apply.» Fine. That’s cool. Let’s see what these restrictions are. What’s that? You don’t know what all the restrictions are? Ok, then show me documentation of what these restrictions are. Sorry? You don’t have that either? So let me get this straight. You have a massive sign that says 50% off frames, but your restrictions– that you have no documented proof of– state it is only applicable with purchase of lenses? Let me break it down for you… 1) Why not put«50% off frames with purchase of lenses» on the sign? How difficult is that? Why mislead your customers into believing otherwise? 2) Under the Federal Trade Commission Act: –Advertising must be truthful and non-deceptive; –Advertisers must have evidence to back up their claims; and –Advertisements cannot be unfair Where are your restrictions? Surely you have to have some legit documentation that lists these restrictions. Or by not having this documented, does it give you the freedom to make things up as you go along? 2) Robert, why get so frustrated and angry at a customer questioning your misleading advertisement? And when we ask to speak to your manager and she does meet with us, why continually interrupt our conversation with your abrasive words and actions when she is telling you to calm the eff down? Why do I have to tell you to walk away? Why are you talking sh** about us to your co-workers in front of us? Take a class on Customer Service 101, because you clearly need help. 3) Mr. Dunn, when a disappointed customer takes the time to email you their frustrations and concerns about their visit to your store, how about actually reply to them? Bravo store manager. Bravo. Never again will I enter this store. If you choose to do so, read everything, don’t be afraid to question anything, and to maintain your blood pressure and sanity, stay clear of Robert.

Today was our 1st visit because the wife needed some new reading glasses. The location was spotless with great parking. The staff was extremely helpful — especially employee #68841 who was very helpful in explaining what our insurance covered plus explaining the various brands of frames and lenses. I’m really glad we found this location and helpful staff. We originally signed up with Unilocal while in Hawaii, but we are located in Michigan.

I’ve gone to this branch of Henry Ford Optim Eyes as it is close to work. Quick in and out, no long waits. Reasonable prices, although they do push the pricey options like the thinner lenses, premium tint and anti-glare coating. Guess I’m guillible enough to think they’re worth it. Recommend and will repeat.

Dr. Hamburger performed my LASIK as well as 3 other people in my lab and we’re all doing better than 20⁄20! He is a wonderful doctor. He clearly loves his job and his enthusiasm is so reassuring. I have 20⁄15 vision now: D So to Ted who didn’t think you could«crisp» up vision beyond 20/20…you can! There’s also an adjustment period for your eyes which is why it may have felt blurry. I’m done with glasses, so all those people complaining about the cost of glasses and repair… why don’t you save up your pennies and get LASIK! Complaints — OVER!

I cannot begin to tell you how many times they’ve mistreated us, or given us the wrong prescription. The doctors here are terrible, and tend to ‘over correct’ their lenses. She admitted my current, 8 year old prescription still offered me 20/20, but said she wanted to ‘crisp things up’. How do you crisp things up over 20⁄20? So the net result were grossly overcorrected vision that caused blurry vision at anything but the longest ranges. I’m not a Marine Sniper, I don’t need 20⁄20 at 1 – 2 miles away. I want 20⁄20 for ‘localized’ things. Like the waitress at a restaurant, the menu, or a book across the room. What’s wrong with these people? Worse, when I reported these issues, the idiot sales person tried to tell me it was because I didn’t purchase the anti-glare coating. REALLY! That 19CENT dip they put glasses in, then charge people $ 100 for that does absolutely nothing. We never get it, and I never will, but they tried to tell me the new glasses gave me terrible vision because I didn’t ‘pony up’ for their cheap useless dippping? Good lord. The glasses I ended up getting, which they finally filled with my 8 year old prescription were nothing less than garbage. After 3 weeks they fell apart. They ordered me a new pair, and within another few weeks, those fell apart. They refused to replace them without charging a ‘pro-rated’ fee. Not acceptable. They admitted the frames I purchased were ‘taken off the market due to manufacturing defects’, but refused to honor a full, free replacement? ‘Robert’ that worked there wasn’t very kind, a thug type, and seemed fully intent on trying to sell me more ‘stuff’. I will steer EVERYONE away from this place. Myself, nor my family will ever go here again. It’s a ripoff store, filled with incompetent people, and they need to go out of business to save us all a lot of hassle.

I have been to many, many different eyecare places and this one is high tech compared to all the others. The doctors have the best equipment available and there just aren’t many others that compare to it. There’s always a bit of a wait, but you kind of expect that and don’t mind so much because everyone’s eyes are so important. You want the staff and the doctors to take their time with you and they do. So, grab one of the free books that are in the front by the doors coming in and have a good read while you wait. Sometimes, the wait is about 35 minutes, and other times you get right in. I go here for my doctor, Dr. Hamburger, yes, that’s his real name. He’s an awesome surgeon and I trust him. I don’t buy my glasses here so I can’t review that part of it. The staff is extremely professional and well-trained. If you need a good opthomologist, try Henry Ford Optomize in Troy.

How can I help you? Do you perhaps have some super expensive glasses you could sell me? Why yes yes we do you. And if they break will you even make the slightest effort to repair them for me? Fuck no. Awesome here’s my pile of money.
