Imo’s, as most people in St. Louis know, is a chain the originated in St. Louis and it serves St. Louis-style pizza. St. Louis-style pizza, as most people in St. Louis know, is about the thickness of a cracker and has some really buck-wild cheese they slap on top of it. St. Louis pizza, as most people in St. Louis DON’T know, serve a really funky pizza. Boy, I make that sound good, don’t I? First thing’s first, St. Louis pizza is good. Good. Done. Glad you’re convinced. Second, Imo’s, in my opinion, makes some of the best St. Louis pizza I’ve ever had. The sauce was crazy good and the cheese has a very distinct taste that you can only find in the St. Louis area — but, as a warning, it’s somewhat of an acquired taste(it’s called«provel» — provolone, swiss, and white cheddar). I got my third of the large pizza, which seems to be enough to feed about 3 adults, with pineapple and I think that really kicked it up a notch. I don’t think St. Louis pizza is for everyone, but if you want a good exemplar, check out Imo’s.
