Kiehl’s Since 1851

I am reviewing the service at the Somerset Kiehl’s, not the products. I hear amazing things about the products… the associate on the other hand left nothing to be desired. My friend and I were welcomed, reluctantly, by an over-​the-​hill hag. She was in her 60s and, while she looked decent for her age, wasn’t a stranger to juvaderm and restylane. Not a problem. It was her attitude and her lies that made her seem even more fake. She barely looked at me (my guess is because my credit cards are not maxed like the average patron. As a result, I don’t falsely look like I am dripping in money). I asked if the products were tested on animals. She said, «no» and looked at me dead in the eye. THAT IS A BOLD-​FACED LIE. After that, she continued to be even more standoffish and wasn’t a help to my friend who was looking for something for redness and dry skin. I am sorry she has to re-​enter the work force because of divorce or what not. But just because she WORKS at a high-​end mall doesn’t mean she should act a snob and judge those who would be able to buy the products within her store.

I love Keihl’s and have been using their skin care for years. Specifically the avocado eye cream, my holy grail of eye creams… and I’ve been through quite a few. So when Keihl’s opened up at Somerset, this skin-​care junkie was one happy gal. Finally, I can peruse the whole line, and trying the testers, without feeling hassled or hurried at the counters in Nordstrom or itty bitty boutiques.
I will say that the design of the store is absolutely beautiful, its spacious and bright. And of course, it has the signature motorcycle in the window. It may be weird, but all Kiehl’s stores have a motorcycle. Staff here is really cool and very helpful. One girl, who has helped me a couple of times, was super knowledgeable and very gracious even when I had to make an exchange. And they will hook you up with samples! Don’t be afraid to ask for one, only problem is that it may get you hooked on a great (and probably pricey) product… I, and my wallet, can speak from experience!
