I’m giving them three stars because the staff are just plain rude. I asked a question and the girl said very rudely and rolling her eyes, «I don’t know.» Like hello, you are dealing with people and thats part of your job. She could of at least said it politely. The fast-food is good though!

my second time at a popeyes, pretty disappointed. the food was bad and the staff was rude. the first cashier i dealt with actually rolled her eyes at me and had a major attitude problem, almost just left but another cashier saw and told the other girl to walk away and finished taking the order. not sure if the girl was having a bad day or what, but she was plain rude for no reason. the mac and cheese was like mush, the chicken tenders were rock hard. the only redeeming part of the meal was the coleslaw and the plentiful free sauces which they get 1 extra star for.

I like everything about this Popeye’s except for the parking lot. The lot on the east side of the restaurant is steep, and you sometimes have to exercise a lot of patience trying to make a left turn onto NY7 west. Everything else is fine. The dining area and rest rooms are well maintained and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. I got my order quickly and it was steaming hot — exactly the way I want it at a Popeye’s.

Considering this is fast food, Popeye’s has figured out a whole bunch of goodness. My favorite menu entrée is the spicy chicken that has a lightly spiced crunchy coating that is extremely satisfying to sink my teeth into. It protects consistently moist meat that ACTUALLYTASTESLIKECHICKEN. The combination is an addictive home run. My favorite side is red beans and rice. It’s a little bit gentrified for the masses, but offers creamy texture and a zesty balance of spicy and herby. This side with the chicken, and all washed-down with sweet tea and I go to a happy place. I’m convinced the biscuit that comes with every meal is made with crack. If I get a craving for it I must have it. MUST. If you find a franchise location that honors the intent of the brand with excellent food, and fast, friendly service you can have a very satisfying meal at Popeye’s. My experience with this Troy location has always been good. Very glad to know its there when I need a fix.

In the 12 years I have lived in Troy, I’ve gone once. It was disgusting and I would never eat there again.

Today while traveling through Troy we decided to drop in at this Popeyes location. When we pulled in it was the dinner rush and the restaurant was packed. Even though it was packed, the employees got people in and out quickly. The great thing about this restaurant is that the food is incredible. The food here is always fresh because it is so busy and my favorite item is their biscuits. They are always so buttery and tasty. The servings are huge and again the quality is great. The only downside to this location is that the parking lot is a mess and getting out of the parking lot is ridiculous. Besides that, this is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner.

I love their spicy fried chicken. They also have a new dipping sauce called hot and sweet or something like that. I love that dipping sauce. The strips weren’t that great though, very bland.

Popeyes is my favorite fast food restaurant. This particular location is probably my favorite overall. The service is attentive and the food is always fresh.

Much better than KFC. Its not even close. I’m not a huge fan of any of the sides but the fried chicken is Turbo! Stick with the mild chicken even if you like spicy food. If anything, throw some hotsauce on it at home. Your body will not recognize the spicy chicken as food, and you will pay for it in the morning.

This place sucks. Plain and simple. They are not here for the customer. They are here for themselves. I just went there at 9:45 on a wednesday and sat in the drive thru behind someone else for waaaay too long. When I finally get to the microphone, they tell me they have no tenders because it’s late. WELL, COOKSOME F’ing TENDERSTHENYOUDUMBARSES!!! Bahhh, I drove away with nothing and I was f’ing hungry! EDIT: 3÷10÷13 I had to raise my rating from 1 to 2 stars. Why? The last time I went there they really went above and beyond with my chicken tenders. I love their tenders. They are big and juicy. KFC tenders are always small and dry. Anyway… I got the 12 tender special and they gave me almost 2 lbs of piping hot, fresh tenders. I wieghed the box when I got home. There must have been 20 or more pieces in the box. If they don’t cheese me on the tenders, I’m a lifetime customer.

Stopped in at 1:00 pm. Had the Bonafide chicken with green beans. The chicken was as good as usual and the green beans were exactly like you would expect if you had them before. But, they served me one tasty hot biscuit. Yum. The young lady at the counter was very friendly. Nice to see. The floor was very dirty. Second dirtest floor I saw on my cross country drive. Keep it clean folks and the rating will be much higher!

Good spice and crunch to the chicken and folks, THIS is how side items are done! I have to admit that I actually crave the red beans and rice! Dirty rice too. Solid

I can see why tricitians have a Jones for this place, after putting up with the decline of KFC for years. The taste would be doing a jig in your mouth. But since fried chicken is not something I make myself, it’s something I always seek out. First, I felt like Lot’s wife, merely looking at the dinner, I’d turn into a pillar of salt. After the first bite I knew it. Then the biscuit hockey puck effect, in size and flatness. Especially after having the fluffiest melt in your mouth biscuits at Cracker Barrel. I have a feeling this is the place that would fulfill my crunchy fried chicken needs, and would be the religious experience I’m looking for.

I am quite amazed I am rating this place 4 stars. Popeyes has been on my girlfriends to-do list for years. We stopped by this past weekend for a quick bite. Outside the place looks like a dump. Inside, it’s like any other fast-food type place. I assumed it would be like KFC, but it had a distinct Southern flare. I only had a chicken wrap. It was a good sized chicken breast with red beans and rice. It was actually one of the best wraps I’ve ever had from a fast-food place. My gf had more food, some chicken, biscuits, and gravy. The biscuit was pretty tasty. Much better than the ones from Red Lobster which have been heralded by so many people. I tried her chicken breast, which was decent. She said her piece of dark meat was great. Overall, this Popeyes should not be overlooked if you are in the mood for some Southern Influenced food while driving through the main artery of Troy.

When I’m in Troy, I stop at Popeyes for the spicy Chicken Deluxe sandwich, which is cooked and made to order. The Fish Basket(with cajun fries & biscuit), Country Fried Steak(with gravy, mashed potatoes & biscuit), and the Jambalaya are also my favorites. For sides, I like the cajun fries, cajun rice, red beans & rice, and mashed potatoes with gravy. One of my coworkers back in NH is a fan of the Popeye’s fried chicken and makes it a point to stop at this Popeye’s whenever he’s passing through Troy,
