I do not understand the negative reviews, we came in around 8 o’clock and the service and staff were great. Everything was delicious. We ordered the Tomahawk ribeye which was simply remarkable. Everything was great, the drinks the side dishes, the food, the service! Best steaks around and well worth the money! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back soon!

Fan-tab-u-lous! Both service and food were great. I had the petite prime rib and shared sides of the scallop potatoes, baked potato and brussel sprouts. I got my prime rib done medium and it was just right.

I must be out of my ever-lovin’ mind. I just spent 94 bucks on a steak. I don’t know if it came from a sacred cow, but no steak is worth that. It was good, not great. Before dinner drink was $ 13, glass of wine $ 17, At least I didn’t give them 10 bucks for some broccoli or a baked.potato.

What a disappointment. My girlfriends parents took us here to celebrate a monumental accomplishment. After reading the multiple exceptional reviews I walked in with high expectations. Where do I start? The service was terrible. Drinks were forgotten, although the water refills were on point. Every single time we asked our server for anything additional it was forgotten or took absolutely way too long to get back to us. The server was terribly annoying and was continually pushing any upscale she could. Now the food. All four of us at the table ordered fillets, two large and two petite. The one petite fillet that was ordered medium well was butterflied without warning and was so over-peppered it was nearly inedible. My large fillet was properly cooked but was also over-seasoned. The other petite fillet was not cooked enough but thankfully was cut and seared on the hot plate to tone down the blood red color in the medium cook. The other large fillet was the one thing that seemed to actually be done right. The taste was good, it was cooked properly. It makes it even worse that four steaks going to the same table all came out differently. Now we move onto the sides. The salad had next to no flavor. The French onion soup was one of the worst I have ever had. On the other side, the shoestring fries were delicious but made a mess because they were served in a napkin cone. The desserts were good, but after a wreck of a meal it did not even come close to making up for it. While we were closing out our bill the manager visited the table next to us to address the fact that they complained about their mac & cheese but failed to turn around and address the main course that we returned. The sides were still charged to the meal that was returned in a la carte fashion which was significantly more that the cost of the sides in the meal package. After this experience I think it is needless to say that I will not be returning.

Very disappointed. We went here to celebrate my birthday on 12⁄5. The front desk, the bartender, and the seating hostess all asked if we were celebrating something. We told all three that yes, we were celebrating my birthday. But when our desserts came out, there was no candle or any acknowledgement of my birthday, and meanwhile several other tables nearby had birthday candles for their desserts. I did not feel special or like anyone really cared that we were there to celebrate. I’m very disappointed and very sorry that I chose Ruth’s Chris for my birthday dinner. Never again. The food was ok, the place was noisy, and the busboy asked me way too many times if I was finished and if he could take my plate. That was annoying — just let me enjoy my meal, don’t try to take it away!

I had a lunch meeting today at Ruth’s Chris. I ordered the surf and turf with a 6 oz. filet done medium and shrimp. It’s been a long time since I have ordered a filet done medium and had it come out cooked medium. I always receive an overcooked piece of meat when placing an order this way. In this case, the chef cooked it perfectly. Bravo! The shrimp was two pieces of shrimp laid on their side, raveled together to make the shape of a circle and prepared in a butter sauce. Delicious! The mashed potatoes were good, but not great. I am not a broccoli fan, but was a huge fan of the broccoli that they prepared. It was all about being cooked properly and not undercooked as it is with most establishments. Lastly, the waiter did a great job of explaining what«cooked medium» means to Ruth’s Chris and confirming that this was o.k. with me. Great experience!

Amazzzzzing steak! Never enjoyed steak so much before trying it here! Love the mashed potato dish along with the steak salad! Very romantic mood in there. Service is mediocre.

I am a steak guy. I have eaten at every steakhouse you can think of in metro-Detroit, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Miami. I am very picky when it comes to judging a steakhouse because to be honest, they are the best and deserve the most love AND criticism. Ruth’s Chris is hands-down the greatest steakhouse I have ever eaten at. The atmosphere, ambiance, service, and selection are all important, but nothing takes precedence over the STEAK. Ruth’s excels in all categories ESPECIALLY the most important one. Their steaks are perfectly seasoned and tender and packed with flavor so you never need to add anything. Also, the steak has been cooked to perfect temperature at my request EVERY single time. This consistency is what keeps me coming back. Not to mention, I have eaten at other locations, even as far as Cancun, Mexico, and the experience was the same. That’s what a steakhouse should be. Everything a steakhouse should be, Ruth’s Chris is. Recommendations: Drinks: ALL. But my favorite is the Blackberry Sidecar. Appetizer: Spicy Lobster. I am not a huge lobster fan, yet this is one of the most delicious dishes I have even allowed near my palette. Entrée: 11 oz. Filet Mignon, cooked medium and ask them to butterfly it. Dessert: Apple Cobbler(not sure of exact title) with vanilla ice cream. I’m usually a chocolate guy, but this is where it’s at. Ask for Alex. He enhances the experience and is just an all-around good person. He was there the 1st time I ate at Ruth’s Chris 9 years ago, and he was there with me today.

An excellent meal at the perfect pace. Arriving just a few minutes before the dining room opened(pro tip: always go early to avoid crowds!) we started at the bar. I had a delightful Blueberry Mojito. Once we were shown to our table, the menus were explained and we were given plenty of time to look things over. Their three-course meal appeared to be the best bargain currently available. I started with a strawberry, spinach, and goat cheese salad, which was good but not out-of-this-world. The entrée was of course the most enjoyable — this is, after all, a steakhouse. My filet was sizzling hot(literally) and drenched in butter and salt. It melted perfectly with each bite. Fair warning though: I’m not kidding about being drenched in butter and salt. My broccoli was cooked but still retained some crunch, which I appreciated. The sides are large enough for 2+ people to split. We also had a loaded baked potato, which was just as buttery as the meat — and just as delicious. For dessert we had a strawberry cheesecake and a strawberry shortcake. Both were good, but not amazing. We were at our table for about 2 ½ hours and never felt rushed. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. Overall everything was quite good.

The food is very good. Steaks were fantastic, sides were good, although I don’t like the pepper flavor in the lobster mac/cheese. The bread pudding tasted more like flan than bread pudding. But overall we were very happy with the meal. The service was good, but very rushed. This is a place that wants to get you in and out in as little time as possible, which isn’t what I want when paying over $ 300 for 2 people. The atmosphere feels more like a banquet hall than an expensive steakhouse. The servers move around very quickly, which makes things efficient, but it also makes the restaurant feel chaotic. Also, lots of large tables with kids. Go for the food, not for the atmosphere. I’d say this is better for a business meal or a meal with family, not a romantic date night. For that try Cameron’s or Hyde Park.

Food was good, that was the ONLY thing I enjoyed about this experience. My wife and I went to Ruth Chris to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Big mistake unless you enjoy being rushed out of a fine dining restaurant in 50 minutes! We had a reservation at 7:15 on a Saturday night, and by 8:05 we were walking out the door. Our server rushed us through ordering and through the entire dinner. We sat down and within a few minutes we were asked if we were ready to order! I looked at our server and bluntly said NO, that we just sat down. We ordered our dinner a few minutes later after being rushed to order again, then within a minute or two our salads arrived, and literally after I put my fork down our entrees arrived. It was obvious that because we didn’t order 100 dollar steaks, drinks or appetizers we were not welcome by this server. All he wanted to do was flip the table again. It is to bad I even left a tip! We couldn’t even enjoy our dinner and enjoy the milestone in our lives. Upon leaving I spoke with a manager, all he said was«well what do you want me to do about it» I looked at him and said, I guess nothing since we are done, and went on to further say there are other ways to try and retain a customer, by inviting us to try their restaurant again. I even told him that we could have gone to the restaurant that is next door to them, ate a lot more food, had a better value for our buck, and had a much more enjoyable night by spending time with each other instead of being rushed our of a fine dining restaurant. What a way to RUIN a milestone, and a fine dining experience. Thanks Ruth Chris. I am speaking only about this location of Ruth Chris, as I have not experienced others. I sure hope the other locations are not run like this one. update…on Saturday July 17th, I sent a lengthy email to Ruth Chris corporate via their website, and now still two business days later no reply. I am actually quite surprised.

Excellent service, staff and food every time. We have not had a bad meal at this location. Exceptional service from Ann Marie and Christine. They are our favorite servers. The filet and lobster tail is my favorite. My husband loves the ribeye. Scalloped potatoes, spinach and chop salad are typical sides for us. New crab stack appetizer is fabulous! Light and refreshing. Happy hour menu is our next stop … To be continued

I’ve been here on many occasions mostly for happy hour which runs Monday through Friday 4 – 630. My favorites from the happy hour(which all cost $ 8) are the prime burger, steak sandwich, seared ahi tuna, and crab blt! Drinks are pretty good too but not as good a deal at 8 bucks also. I have also been here for my birthday and I received excellent service. They took a picture for me and my girlfriend and then gave us a little souvenir Ruth Chris picture thing as well which I thought was cute. One thing I might want to mention is that they don’t allow you to bring your own bottle of wine(not an option they accept a corkage fee at all). Just manager policy I suppose. I had brought my own bottle on my birthday not knowing. They did give me complimentary champagne for the inconvenience which was nice of them. Also, their steaks are usda prime of course. Here’s a pro tip: bone in steaks aren’t tastier(just heavier) so don’t buy one if you don’t have to! However I’d like to mention that they do not dry age their steaks here so if you’re looking for that funky aged taste, you might have better luck elsewhere. Overall they cooked my ribeye beautifully medium rare as requested(you’d be surprised at how many steakhouses can mess this up) and it tasted delicious. Overall I think the service, staff, and quality of the restaurant is exceptional and would be happy to celebrate a special occasion here, or just drop by for their awesome happy hour. Happy eats!

I’ve been coming here for many many years. For any occasion that u can think of, we have celebrated here. My favorite was the pork chops. This is the ONLY place I will eat pork chops. They are to die for! But after recently going here, found out the pork chops are only special ordered now. But the Steak and all the side dishes are AMAZING! I’m getting hungry now just typing this!

I ordered the 16 oz. Ribeye which was juicy and cooked to perfection! Lobster mac-n-cheese was my side dish which was pretty good. Drinks were great as well as the service. Absolutely no room for dessert though. I will definitely be returning!

4 of us went on Valentines Day. We’ve been here before, as well as to Ocean Prime, Mortons, and Capitol Grill. Our previous trip was outstanding. This time around, it was a hair away from being outright horrible. The service was mediocre. Empty water and pop glasses needed to have a waitress flagged down to be refilled. The steak(I had the 12 oz ribeye with 2 lobster tails) was a notch below mediocre, and tasted of burnt black pepper more than of steak. We don’t mind dropping $ 100 per person for a really nice dinner, but it doesn’t appear Ruths Chris can provide a really nice dinner anymore. At the very least, they buckle under the modestly increased crowds of Valentines days. Either way, there are too many good restaurants on Big Beaver to risk coming back here in the future.

Bread: was not served today, not sure why, we noticed it when the steak for here, didn’t ask for it but was just wondering. Appetizer: crab cake, stuffed mushroom and seared ahi — all very nicely prepared and tasty. Caesar Salad: surprisingly disappointing, normally I would expect a good salad from a steak house, but this croûton was soggy and romaine lettuce was not crunchy. Overall not a fresh salad. Petite filet and petite ribeye: delicious, very well prepared! Really enjoyed it. Service: the bus boy was a little rough, knocking the glasses when picking up plates etc., but the waitress was great!

I came for Troy restaurant week, and I’ve never been upsold harder somewhere than at a timeshare seminar. 18 minutes the waitress yammered on about the ‘Ruth’s Classic Dinner’ where you get to mix/match or ‘create your own meal’ if you will. Like a ‘pick three’. She asked us twice what we would like from get started with, and twice my Mother and I said ‘we’ll go ahead and stick with the Restaurant Week menu’. The Fillet was damn good, as it should be for Prime beef. Did not care for the burning hot plate, or sizzling butter to ‘let me know the plate was hot’. It’s not just a personal dislike, it’s a gimmicky novelty way to serve a beautiful slice of meat. Why do I want to not be able to move my plate around, or have to watch my wrirsts while cutting my steak? I can’t imagine how many times people have burned themselves.
