When I see a restaurant that claims to be a Southern Cooking restaurant I expect SOME fried food but not fried everything… and I also expect fresh country vegetables not canned or Frozen as was evident here. Although, it was apparently seafood buffet night, the reviews led me to believe that there would be some healthy choices available… not so. The seafood tasted better than it looked and was fresh(I think). The place was clean enough and the staff pleasant enough, however it was quite expensive for the quality of the food and the desserts were almost unrecognizable. All in all, for a quick meal on a road trip, I guess it’s okay but I would not recommend it nor would I go back for seconds.

I saw the reviews on this restaurant while driving south from Nashville. It was Friday night and, at Sisters, that means it’s seafood buffet night. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet which always makes me feel uncomfortable because I feel, as a relatively small eater, that I am there to subsidize the gluttons. So, to the food. It’s almost all deep fried. The deep fried fish and chicken(seafood, right?) was nice. The onion rings.meh.the deep fried oysters and clams were nice, the french fries were not so good. There was salad and it was tired and tasteless, and lacked variety. The restaurant does not serve alcohol but does make good iced tea. Desert was included in the price and consisted of the worst looking banana pudding I have seen in a long time. The bread pudding, similarly, looked awful. The peach cobbler also didn’t inspire me. For two fairly small portions, and two glasses of iced tea, we forked over $ 45 + tip. It was poor value for money. However the venue was nice and the servers were pleasant. All in all this is a place which would well suit someone who is very hungry and who loves deep fried food. It is what, in Australia, we would call a ‘chew-n-spew’…Here, I guess you call it a ‘greasy spoon’. It is not a place I would recommend. However, given the many good reviews, perhaps I just hit it on an off day… maybe.

What a nice surprise! Great meat &3, clean and vegetarian friendly. Got vegetable plates with delicious butter beans, amazing candied yams, and bottomless glasses of iced tea. Chicken salad sandwich also got rave reviews. Don’t leave without banana pudding or peach cobbler!

This is probably the best Southern restaurant in the United States, and thus, the best Southern restaurant on Earth. On Earth. I really mean that. I have never encountered such a high quality Southern buffet as they put out on Sunday.

I’ve been here on numerous occasions from banquets to Sunday dinner. The customer service is always the same no matter how busy they are! Excellent. The only negative thing I have to say is that their peach cobbler is far from good. Sorry.

So apparently two ladies own this together and they are sisters. You can tell they have been here a while and have expanded their little location a few times. The food was good at lunch. The place was clean and our server was very nice. I would come here even if it was in a larger town with more option. s

The ladies at the Alabama Welcome Center suggested this restaurant. Considering it is 90 miles from the welcome center, we figured it MUST be great. Oh how right they were. We happened to go on a Thursday during their lunch buffet. Everything was incredibly delicious as well as fresh. Wonderful hot desserts like peach cobbler and banana pudding(which they are known for and with good rest, it was divine). Tea & coffee are included in the price of $ 10! $ 10??? Are you kidding me? Nope $ 10! Get their sweet tea, it is also incredible, just like everything else! So glad we spoke to those nice Welcome Center ladies :)

It Was like a family Thanksgiving or Christmas meal with about as much food as you could imagine. Seasoned like we southerners like and you get plenty of it when doing the buffe. But! Take what you want but eat what you take! Will be going back anytime we’re in town.

If you love country cooking — this is your place. I’m not a fan of everything fried but the food was pretty good. Nice lunch specials, quick & friendly service, and some really good iced tea.

Very good lunch meal at $ 7.99. Good service and really buy with locals at lunch time. There is a buffet on Friday.

Stopped by on the way through on a recommendation by my brother in law. Damn glad we did. One of the best country buffets I have ever had. Lots of meats and sides. Large dining area so you should not have to wait long is any. Lots of patrons mean that the fresh hot food keeps coming out to the buffet. Definetly give this place a shot.

1st time in Alabama! Wonderful taste of the South. We arrived at 1pm on a Sunday. After church obviously. Service, friendliness, and of course the food made The Sisters a perfect find.

I do not understand the fascination that locals in Troy have with this place. The food is «okay.» If you want something with a «southern feel,» eat at Hook’s BBQ. You’ll get your food quicker, they’ll be more of it, it’ll be the same cost, and it’ll leave you more full.

Had buffet lunch Sunday. The best tasting chicken I ever had. All the vegtables are so tasty. Good southern cooking. Don’t pass Sisters up.

(1) This place is worth a stop if you’re on a drive and want good southern cooking.(2) The address listed by Unilocal is WRONG. Traveling Companion and I spent 10 minutes more or less yelling at each other because GPS kept leading us to a wooded lot. The REALADDRESS is 13153 U.S. Highway 231, about a mile or two south of where GPS tracks Unilocal listed address. . I’d give this 2.5 stars if Unilocal allowed half-stars. We went expecting a country buffet, but we went on a Monday and buffets it turned out are only on certain days. It’s mostly open for lunches, but also some nights. If you’re on a drive, I suggest calling in advance to learn hours, what’s available. The number listed on Sisters business card is 334566‑0064. We both had pork chop with pepper gravy. TC, a real foody, thought it was great. I found the thick crust and goopy gravy just so so. I think the price was $ 7.99(not listed on the menu). I think the problem is not with the restaurant, but the fact that maybe I’m not that big a fan of Southern fried cooking. Still, I’d say this is worth a try as a bit of local Americana, a change from the fast-food and cookie-cutter chains. NOTE: This was second time on a month-long driving trip that Unilocal address for a restaurant was wrong. I suggest double-checking addresses with your smartphone if you’re on a trip.

Great country cooking with daily specials. Love the meatloaf here and portion sizes are sure to fill the hungry beast in you! Plenty of sweet tea to cool you off on these hot summer days. See their website for listings of the daily lunch choices. Did I mention the creamed corn is amazing?!

The daily special looked good but my husband and I ordered the shrimp. We were both very disappointed and left hungry. The mashed potatoes were instant and nothing tasted homemade. We didn’t get a salad or rolls. The staff was friendly and the place was cute, but we probably won’t go back.

This place is a buffet with southern food. Salad bar is a little lacking, and they do a poor job of cutting up the salad fixings at times, but the Banana pudding makes up for it. BP is Best you’ll ever have. Do not get it to go as THEY make your plate for you. Stay and eat and get your monies worth.
