Sylvan Glen Golf Course

I had a golf outing here and had never played at this course before. Having read the previous reviews I was hoping that this was at least a half way decent course.
This is actually a pretty decent course. I have been to better and much worse. I liked how lush and mature the greens and fairways are kept. It’s not a real challenging course but pretty fair to beginners and mid talent golfers. There are narrow fairways and wide fairways, short holes and long holes. A couple extra challenging par 3’s to play. The food we had at the turn from Camp Ticonderoga restaurant was great.
I’d play at this course anytime but must practice on hitting my ball to the right when driving down a couple holes close the road.

Great little course. A couple holes have some road noise, but it’s well maintained. It’s not tremendously challenging but the tips play decently long. Overall a nice track. Camp Ticonderoga is also a legit restaurant.

I love this golf course. Staffs are so friendly and kind. I will definitely play here again.

Pro shop is terrible. Very rude and unorganized.

Nice quiet place to fish in the small lake next the golf course. BBQ grills and picnic tables available Trails in the back of the lake.

I’m amazed at the two other reviews. This course has turned into a dump. I sub on a league here once a month or so, and the greens are absolutely TERRIBLE (find me a course with worse greens, I dare ya), and they do very LITTLE maintenance to the course.
In fact, they change the hole locations so infrequently that they then installed these ridiculous cup liners which go all the way to the surface of the grass. Sometimes they even stick above the surface!
About the only tree trimming the course gets is when an insect decides to kill off a few trees, or lightning takes one down. And it is ALWAYS wet here.
The only thing the course has going for it is Camp Ti with a nice outdoor deck. If it weren’t for the fact that I like to hang with my buds for a cheap sub fee, no way would I come here.
Billy Casper Golf took over this course maybe 3 years ago and hasn’t done a thing with it.

Ive been coming here for a couple years now, about once a week. I’ve been meaning to write a review, and finally am. Its a really nice suburban course for the price you pay. I’ve played oakland hills and pine knob, and it doesn’t compare, but its still a nice quiet corse.
First thing, the management here is not friendly at all. The tee time manager knows me by name, and is still not nice to me, and really rude. The woman that works in the pro shop is really snotty, and makes you want to just leave the place.
After paying to play, the course is really nice, and they have crews maintaining it all day. The greens are really fast, and the roughs are deep, but the fairways are perfect. Its 15 – 17 walking nine holes, which i usually do. Its very reasonable.
Overall, i probably would recommend it for the value, but of your looking for a much nicer course for just a couple bucks more, head over to sanctuary lakes on south blv. They have the nicest corse, and SUPER friendly staff!
