This was a very important play to make sure it is always remembered and NEVER repeated.

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Troy, NY
Oh how I want to give this 4 stars. 4 stars for the performance of Les Miserable and being in Troy and being relatively comfortable 2 stars for the technical short comings. There is no more New York State Theater Institute due to the typical Albany scandal crud. However, there is a very excellent theater institute using the NYSTI space through Russell Sage College. The performers are excellent, the musicians were great. The seating was relatively comfortable. The theater itself is typical 1970’s apocalypse style theaters with few upgrades since then. Maybe I went on a bad night, but either only 2 of the 20+ performers properly had their head mic on, or the entire PA systems needs and overhaul. I’m also sure there was a reason for this, but it seemed as though there was no sound shell on the stage and a lot of the voices got stuck in the wings and rafters without ever making it out to the audience.(And a nitpick note: the spotlight operator should be canned or given a can of WD-40…it was the choppiest tracking of a performer I have ever seen). One thing TIS did for is performance of Les Mis, was a sing-a-long for $ 5. This was brilliant and fun and something I would love to participate in again and again and again. While they have a presence on social media, they really need to attend to that more and promote the minor events(such as the sing-a-long) as I know at least a dozen people who were bummed to not be able to make it due to short notice. Bravo. Look forward to seeing more productions(and hopefully encountering better technical quality).
