This is a big deal festival in a cute little town. it’s super crowded and the lines are crazy long but it’s fun. Lots of crafts and food booths. The strawberry doughnuts seem to be the big hit but I prefer the choc covered strawberries hands down. The cute fountain in the center of town. they put something In it to make the water pink. They take it serious and its a cute town that gives off a Mayberry vibe with little shops and artistic touches. but it’s more than just that festival. Troy is a sweet town and worth exploring

Thought this well rated festival would be similar to the Sauerkraut fest only with strawberries, so made the Sunday funday drive up. The festival is in the cute town of Troy. Many of the beautiful old houses had strawberry decorations up, and there were strawberries painted on the side walks. The town fountain was dyed pink! We opted to take the free shuttle parking which worked out good. While there were a few great local organizations with their strawberry creations, it seemed the majority of the food was commercial. I did have the best strawberry lemonade I’ve ever had at the Rotary tent, which had super friendly workers! We also got a great strawberry milkshake from the Kiwanis and strawberry popcorn from a local animal rescue. Things also seen that theyd run out of: strawberry cannoli, strawberry chimichanga, strawberry donuts, and the line for deep fried strawberries was too long. There were also some craft vendors, a car show, live music, and a kids zone. All in all somewhat of a disappointment. Prolly not worth the drive next yr but fun to say we tried it.

Overall, a pleasant experience on a Sunday afternoon. The reviews of the vendors are varied, however. I ordered a strawberry cheesecake from one vendor and it was still frozen but thawing. It tasted pretty much like any frozen cheesecake you would buy at the grocery store, but topped with fairly okay strawberries. Another vender, this one being the Senior Citizen’s Club, at the end of the strip, had a much better strawberry shortcake. The cake I chose was commercially made, although they did have options for what looked like homemade angel-food cake, shortbread, and yellow cake. The whipped cream was store-bought, but the strawberries on top(which were plentiful) were fresh and very tasty. Old Hickory BBQ had a truck vendor there too, and the barbeque sandwich was great. The pork was cooked very well and was delicious, and the sauce went with it excellently. There were a lot of cool vendors selling novelty items as well. It was fun to just walk and look around. Definitely worth a trip the first weekend of June.

Maybe this festival has been better in the past. It was nothing special this year. I considered buying an ice cream sundae from a stall that displayed a sign suggesting that it had won a culinary award. The vanilla ice cream came straight from Meijer. Nuff said…

Always hot, always crowded. I hate to go but the kids want to for some reason. I do not get the hub bub about the doughnuts. The are just glazed doughnuts.

If you have a little free time the first weekend in June check out the Troy Strawberry Festival. The food, people and setting are just FUN! You can check out old cars, crafts and even the local businesses. Don’t miss the strawberry lemonade and the cheesecake sold by the local Catholic school. YUMMY!

Just moved to the area and went to the strawberry festival and had a great time. The changed the water fountain to red and decorated the town beautifully. Very much enjoyed it.

Always the first weekend in June. Everything strawberries, and more. Bed races, competition events, 3 stages with performances all day long. tons of craft and food booths. Car show and more. Around 250,000 people attend each year. But I head out of town =-)
