Uncle Sam’s Good Natural Products

This is a store that has many homeopathic products and some organic foods. Decent selection tough.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. The bulk section is small, but has everything that I am looking for, namely nutritional yeast and quinoa, which means that so long as I can get to Uncle Sam’s once every 6 weeks or so, I don’t really need to go to Albany anymore to get my supply.
I’m not a supplement kinda gal, but they had a lot of extracts and pills if you’re into that type of thing. Prices were comparable to bigger health food stores/​HWFC. They don’t really have any fresh produce, but that’s okay because if you hit it on a Saturday you can just go to the Farmers’ Market.
$ 10 minimum to use credit cards.
All in all: good.

I LOVE this store!
This store has a lot to offer for being small in size. They have a wide range of protein bars, low-​carb diet bars, fiber bars, etc. Then they have aisles of vitamins, supplements, and remedies. They also have a bunch of liquid extracts of herbs in front of the aisle. They have some bulk items in the back and then a freezer/​fridge with the normals of store (usually gluten free or organic items) including breads, yogurts, drinks, and anything frozen you can think of. They also have a organic pet sectioon which I like (except my cats don’t seem to). They have a cosmetic area with organic lotions, body washes, shampoos, hair dye, etc. They also carry organic cleaners and they have some fresh fruit/​veggies in the front.
Now, it is not as big as the Honest Weight Food Coop BUT the knowledge of the owner (and passion) he has for health is what makes me love this store. He will give me free samples when I check out and whenever I ask him something, he goes out of his way for me and will ask very health related questions. I would always check with you doctor if thse supplements would work for you but damn, he seems to know his stuff and go out of his way for the customer.
And as far as price goes, they have pretty decent prices. I actually got some granola bars there, half the price of price chopper. They will also order anything you ask for.
I also don’t know why people reviewed and called this place a «hidden gem» but only gave it 3 stars. Doesn’t make sense. But don’t be expecting Honest Weight Coop type space but they have a lot to offer.

I like this store for their collection of organic cosmetics.

This place sells a lot of homeopathic quackery, but has an awesome cheese selection, as well as several hard to find products, like weird candies. The proprietor is a good guy, and its conveniently located.

I’ve probably walked by this place about a thousand times and only thought to drop in and check it out this past weekend. A lot of shelf space seems to be devoted to herbal remedy and homeopathy type stuff, or at least that’s what stuck out when I first entered the store. Lots of «healthy» convenience foods, or at least as healthy as you can get, juices and sodas, snacks, frozen goods, and a bulk section. This place is definitely a hidden gem. It might feel weird walking in here for the first time, but I recommend checking it out.

The prices are higher than other places but that is made up for by the nice and very knowledgeable owner and huge selection.
