When it comes to art galleries, it is futile for me to resist. I must at least peek into the windows but usually I go in and pretend my wallet is a lot fatter than it really is. So much to adore here, from pottery to paintings. I love the airiness of the space itself. Very bright. Which really helped to showcase a lot of the art, which ranged from whimsical to wacky to wonderful. I wish there were a few less digits in some of the art, but that’s my issue, not theirs. Thanks for the pure pleasure of just enjoying the art.

ITSHOULDBE A CRIMETOWALKBYANARTGALLERYWITHOUTSTOPPING We noticed this gallery on our way to breakfast, but didn’t stop in until after we had some food in our stomachs. We probably would have stayed for some wine in the back if we weren’t all driving home in a little bit. Large, bright paintings of many different styles surrounded us when we walked in. I don’t remember being greeted at all, but perhaps we didn’t fit the look of typical art purchasers. I admired many pieces and really let my eye take their time viewing my favorites. The upstairs was medium sized — it’s not what I would describe a big gallery. There were two staircases heading downstairs. We weren’t sure if there was more art or if it was for employees only, so we didn’t venture off the top floor. The wine was inexpensive — saw prices for bottles or by-the-glass and both were very reasonable. My favorite pieces of art were these almost simple drawings of farm animals. Bold, thick lines and bright colors. With the face of the animal staring back at you. Very fun! There was also one of the fire falls at Yosemite that we all liked.

This is the best art gallery on the West Coast. Amazing selection, great prices, and the owner, David, is very easy to work with. I LOVEIT. I’ll be back again — and I’ll order via their website, too. I am a HUGE Michael Parkes collector, and this gallery carries his work as well as the work of many other artists I collect.

While strolling through downtown Truckee, I walked right past Art Obsession. Had my friend not disappeared into the store, I probably would have completely missed out on this great gem of an art gallery. The gallery space is gigantic, filled with small paintings and big paintings, local art and international art. Everything you could possibly imagine. I got lost here, browsing and enjoying the paintings and sculptures of various artists. I would love to one day have enough money to purchase pieces of art. For now, I will(unfortunately) only be able to look.
