This place is rad. The dude that works there with the beard and long hair is so chill. He really helped me out. Recommend this spot for grabbing the gear you need.

Customer service here is a 5 out of 5. Not only do these people know a ton about snowboarding gear they are all super passionate about the sport and really just want to see that you get out on the slopes and that you are happy! Mike the guy who helped me is like ! I came in here because my boot binding was broken and I was looking to buy a new pair of boots since I’ve had mine for a while and I figured well if its broke time to get a new one. Mike came up to me and asked me what I needed and I told him(with my broken boots still on my feet) that I was looking to buy a new pair cuz when I got out to the resort and strapped on my boots for the day they were not tightening(oh boa’s…) When I explained what was wrong with the boots that I was currently wearing he was like I can fix that for you! And before I knew it he was working on my boots and setting me up with a loaner pair of boots so I could still make the most of my day. Mike is like a magic maker because he got my boots fixed and got me up on the mountain stat! Thanks for everything man I really appriciate it. And for sure next time I need anything I’m going out to butterbox because the customer service is top notch!

My husband had a broken strap after three different shop at the resort. They were the only one that could fix it. Great customer service would definitely purchase snowboard items here.

Dan is the man! I broke a strap on my Rome binding(never buying from that company again) and had to ride all the way down the mountain with one foot strapped in. After looking at my options(rent a board for $$ or buy a brand new burton binding for $$$$) I walked into the shop. As soon as I got in there I got help from the great staff and Dan hooked it up with a repair that allowed me to ride the rest of the day .I was in and out. Thanks for the great service.

These guys are awesome! They couldn’t repair my boot so they gave me rentals to use for the day. Their customer service is amazing! They want to make sure that you have a good time at Northstar!

The best board shop I’ve ever been to. The staff here are some of the most experienced and helpful people I’ve worked with. I can’t believe this level of service is slope side at Northstar. They offer you their undivided attention while helping you get setup. Simply put, Butterbox provides pro level service for any level rider.

Customer service today was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to help us out. My sons snowboard boots needed a modification of the BOA system. I checked at a couple of places at the village with no success. 2 places wouldn’t give me the time of day, and one place explained the modification I wanted to make was not possible. I walked into Butterbox and not only did the rep know what I was trying to do, he actually had the special tool needed for the job. He spent his time showing me how to dis-assemble the mechanism and hen worked with me to put it together with the cable laced differently. Absolute top notch customer service for someone that hadn’t purchased the product from their store. While this stop didn’t turn into a money maker for the shop I assure you it will be our stop on our future stays. Many thanks

I forgot to pack my face mask. It was, of course, on a windy day. Before I even hit the hill I saw the Butterbox shop sign while walking to the gondola. I went in and found a great selection. Prices were standard. They were not too elevated — nothing above what I would expect to be playing at a resort for last minute articles of clothing. What I did find surprising was how amazing the sale prices were. I found a jacket at half of the retail cost. I wasn’t too well educated about the brands entry into snowboard apparel. I asked one question about the brand and the staff walked me through that question and a detailed description of each and every feature of the jacket. They also gave me brand history so I could have more confidence in the brand that I was purchasing. The staff was so kind and helpful. They laughed and chatted with us but maintained a great level of professionalism and courtesy. I would no longer only consider this store for last minute needs but for general snowboard gear shopping as well as apparel.

I had one of the best retail customer service experiences of my life at the Butterbox. My wife’s snowboarding boots weren’t fitting her as well as she liked so we stopped in to ask about reshaping the linings.(For the record, these were nice 32s purchased at Tahoe Dave’s a couple of years ago.) Frank O, the general manager helped us for almost an hour and a half, showing her new boot options and working on reshaping the linings of her old boots. He never rushed us and never pressured us. At the end of the visit we decided that the old boots with the reshaped linings fit best and at Frank’a recommendation walked out without making a purchase. I’m very impressed with Frank’s attention to detail, knowledge of the sport, and customer service chops. This was definitely not the experience I was expecting at a resort gear shop(I confess I had low expectations walking in) and I’m definitely going back.

The plastic part that keeps the inner laces tight broke on my girlfriend’s snowboard boot. We walked into Butter Box hoping that they’d sell us a replacement. Instead, the dude found one in the back and installed it on the boot, for free, no questions asked. Fantastic service, and we didn’t even buy anything. Super nice, I’ll be back.

Ok gear at hiked-up prices and shitty service. I came in looking for some sunglasses. After a quick jaunt around the store to see what they had, I went up to the counter to ask for someone to unlock the cases of sunglasses. There was a small group of girls off to the side gossiping(loudly) about random stuff. When I finally got the attention of a salesperson, she calls to the group, «Hey Gabby,(or whatever the girls’ name was) can you show this lady some sunglasses?» Turns out that one of the gossipers was an employee, who had been diligently ignoring me. Nice. She asks me which cabinet I wanted to look at, I point and she says, «go ahead and help yourself.» Hmm, funny, because there’s a sign that explicitly states ‘please ask an associate for assistance.‘ Well, I didn’t find anything that I liked at a price I could afford, so I left without thanking them for their ‘help.’ With the quality of service, though, I probably would not have bought from them if I’d found something I’d wanted.
