The Glenshire General Store has saved me from driving 15 minutes to Safeway for butter or eggs or something simple. A bit on the expensive side but totally worth it for small items. The staff is very nice and welcoming.

Since the new owners have taken over, it’s a great store! It’s so friendly and inviting. The product selection and the prices are doable. It’s become the place to see your neighbors and but great beer

We have had a vacation home in glenshire for nearly 30 years… About a quarter decade before Unilocal was even an a rough idea across a now very wealthy person’s mind!
The General Store and i have been through alot together! It’s not just a grocery store but old friend in my life!
Thanks General Store! You will never know how you mean to me and my family!

This place has everything I need when I forget something at the store or if I’m not willing to deal with the crazy mid summer store
They have new owners a they seem super nice
My kids love to come here and pick up candy or ice cream

Been shopping at the «little store» for 26 years, They have saved my bacon hundreds of times! Friendly staff and good hours. They are always happy to field a phone call to check on a item. Beer selection is very good. Convenience and happy staff.

Tina was the owner since «forever». She worked hard & her prices were fine. The convenience for not having to drive to town was worth a bit more money. Now the store has a new owner. I went to buy a large bottle of soda, costs $ 1.25−1.50 max at large chain. It was $ 3.70…i left it there, that was ridiculous.

Love coming a cross places like this that take you back in time. From the moment you walk in you notice how old the store is. From the wood floors and the open coolers with drinks and food in them. The fresh fruit in baskets, and the deli counter… just all in all it took me back to my small town where I grew up.
Tip, they don’t give out bags. SO bring your own…

I have found that this store is a great convenience to us that live 7 miles from the the local Safeway, 15 mile round trip. I truly appreciate having the item I forgot to pick up on the way home. The Deli has great sandwiches and I love the cappuccino. Thanks for being here.

I love this store! They have a good selection of food, great local coffee, and the food they do carry is good quality. Yes it is a little more than you’ll find at Safeway but if you look at the $$ you save in gas driving 15 miles to town & back it’s a no-​brainier. This is a great store for a local trip. Support your local stores people!

The store is ok if you really need something, but if you are looking for shopping it is way too expensive! Very pricey, but they typically have what you are looking for if you are wiling pay the price.

Just drove down to the Gen to get a pack of smokes and a gallon of milk. When checking out I was told my total was $ 17.73. Wow! I know that the Gen is not the lowest price place to shop but that was a bit much. When I asked the young (under 18) cashier to check the total I received a blank stare, and a sharp tongue. He finally looked at the receipt and corrected the bill. If I had not been on my game I think he would have taken me for $ 5. Not cool. I have always loved the Gen, but now have mixed feelings.

i love this store. the drive into truckee takes two song lengths each way, and another song to get to the markets in town. the general store has a selection way better than a corner store, including organic produce and lots of home-​made ready to eat stuff. 10% discounts on cases of anything, nice locals who are nice to visitors. the banana bread is to die for!
