Smiley’s Tattoo

Smiley is doing a full ¾ sleeve for me. First, his shop is the cleanest shop I’ve ever been in. I’ve walked into various shops just to look around in San Francisco, Sacramento, LA area and Smiley’s is the cleanest and most well kept shop that I’ve seen. When it comes to his work, it’s incredible. My sleeve is black and grey and the detail is unreal. The lines are perfect. Literally. I don’t know how he keeps his lines so smooth. His shading is equally impressive. Also, he has a very light hand so it’s easy to sit for longer sessions. The longest session I sat for was 8hrs not including a 30min break for a snack and another 15min to use the restroom and stretch my legs. I get complements regularly. I get the most complements at the gym and in line at chipotle haha. I seriously started carrying around his business cards because so many people would ask me where I got the work done. Whether you’re a local or from out of town, Smiley will take care of you! Just make sure you schedule an appointment. Words getting out and he’s usually booked out weeks and months from when you call/​email (unless you get lucky). It’s worth any wait though. You live with your tattoo forever, so do yourself a favor and get it done by Smiley!

Smiley is a Artist, he takes your ideas and unique quirks and turns it into a special thing for you. When you meet him you feel like he has been your friend forever. The shop is clean, clean ! The atmosphere is welcoming and focused on the customer. I am going back next week for my next piece of art to wear forever, this will be my second tattoo with Smiley. Smileys Tattoo shop is unlike any shop I’ve ever been to. As you walk into the shop it is impeccably cleaned and the atmosphere is inviting and soothing with soft music in the background. Both myself and my wife have had work done by Smiley and his work definitely warrants the great raves. He is meticulous and it shows, his lines are clean and straight and the colors are awesome. His black and gray work is off the hook as well. If your looking for a professional tattooer in a clean laid back atmosphere Smileys is the place. No one else will apply ink to us again, we will gladly make the three hour trip to Smileys.

This is the cleanest tattoo place we’ve ever been too! Smiley is awesome! Very friendly and did a great job for us. If I ever get another tattoo I would make the drive from Sacramento to have him do it.

My best friend and I, who are from Chicago, were in the area for Spring Break and decided to go to Smiley’s to finally get both get our astrology constellation tattoos because of all the great reviews on here.
I will say the place was spotless and JP was super chill but, unfortunately, my tattoo was poorly done and faded away very shortly after. I have tattoos so it is not like I wasn’t taking care of it. As you can see from the photo I added, the stars are all nearly faded off and the lines are all different thicknesses– you can’t even tell what it is… People come up trying to rub it off thinking its accidental pen or straight up make fun of it which makes me embarrassed and sad, and I spend most of my time trying to hide it instead of showing it off… I wish I never got it and because I live in Chicago going back to California to have him to fix it isn’t a real option… Now I have to go to an artist who is charging me MORE than what I even paid for the tattoo in the first place. It’s really a shame :’(

Smiley did an AMAZING cover up for me today, and I could not be happier! He was so nice, so clean, and definitely did not cut any corners. I am amazed with the detail he did and the time he spent working on it! He was patient with me, did a custom drawing, and now I have a piece that is much better than any tattoo shops in Reno! It is worth the drive to go to him, and I will be returning very soon for more! This shop is a gem!

I’ve been tattooed in several shops around the world, not to mention I’ve been getting tattooed for over twenty years and Smiley’s is hands down the best shop ever! The cleanliness is out of this world, chairs, guns, and overall tattoo equipment is some of the best I’ve seen. Smiley himself is not only a great Tattoo Artist but a great guy. He makes you feel right at home. My overall experience was top notch. This is that shop that you leave not only with an amazing new tattoo that you love but you also feel honored to have. Smileys Tattoo is the best place to get work done! Smiley is extremely friendly and makes you feel comfortable. He is professional and does great work. His shop is by far the cleanest I have ever seen… I started going to him this summer 2013 and am continuing to go to him. I recommend him for those who want quality work and a pleasant experience.

Nice shop ok work and bad attitude had a piece redone n touched up artist couldn’t finish that day then came back n was haged out for using the bathroom then when finished rushed through it sloppy color then got overcharged from what was told to finish it will not repeat
