This place had a nifty vibe, with a pool table, plenty of seating, and a bar area. Every seems to be having a good time and there were kids and dogs within the brewery — a chill and relaxing atmosphere for everyone. While the environment was pleasant, I didn’t like most of their beers. We did two samplers, which had eight 3oz miniature cups filled with beer each, totaling it up to 16 cups. They only had 15 beers at the moment, so we doubled up on the stout, since we usually love stouts. There were two that we kind of liked, most were mediocre, and five that we disliked. This is, of course, depends on personal preference, but this is our experience. I would encourage others to come to try their beer and create their own opinions.

Went in with some Truckee locals them not knowing the rules, that you they don’t fill other people’s growlers. We had felt disappointed and as soon as the lady had said that we all walked out. She lost our business! Some odd days later we went too, the one in Tahoe City and they filled anybody’s growler that you can bring in.

Cool little place. Love the couches with the fireplace and pool table. Had a huge selection of beer. Only complaint is I think 6 bucks for a beer is a little ridiculous. Other that thumbs up.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon. They’re dog friendly, have a bunch of swag to buy, a couple of board games, and a pool table inside. It’s a smaller place but there were only a couple others in there so that wasn’t a problem. They have a diverse selection of beers, a lot of saisons and farmhouse ales on tap. They don’t make you buy their growler for growler fills which is nice but they also sell a glass one for $ 5. Their bottle selection is pretty good as well. We were pretty hungry after a hike and were hoping we could get a bite to eat but they only had a couple refrigerated snacks(cheese, meats, etc). Also wireless would help as we had no reception while inside the building but as soon as we stepped out, it was fine(could just be Google Fi). Overall, would definitely come back.

Awesome little spot in the middle of nowhere, with an impressive set of barrel aged beers. Overall very tasty to shockingly good. Some bottles and growlers to go as well. The growlers are stunning. Absolutely worth checking out, and don’t let the area or the exterior keep you away. Favorites included the barrel aged saisons and their Imperial IPA.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever stopped in Truckee before. The times I’ve been out this direction, I’m always just passing through on the freeway. But on a recent 4-day weekend trip to South Lake Tahoe, I drove the long way around on the way up to make a quick stop at Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co. Yup, I tacked on almost an extra 50 miles solely to check this place out & try a few of their beers. Because, I Unilocal California Beer!(check out my list to understand the breadth & magnitude of my obsession) As is typical for craft breweries, Tahoe Mountain is in an out-of-the-way industrial building. Walking in on a Thursday evening, I practically had the place to myself. The tasting room is a small, cozy space decorated like a log cabin complete with fireplace. For a while, I was the only patron & got personalized service from the lovely lady working the bar. I even got a short tour of this tiny brewery’s impressive barrelhouse. Back in the tasting room, it was time to get down to the serious business of drinking beer. I got a tasting flight of 82oz. pours for $ 16, which is pricy for tasters. The beers I tasted ran a wide gamut from Saison to Belgian to IPA to Sour to Barrel Aged. While their Saison/Belgian/IPA offerings were all good, their Sour & Barrel Aged stuff is what Tahoe Mountain does best. After finishing up my flight & having an informative conversation with 1 of the brewers who happened to be walking through the tasting room, it was time to get on down to South Lake. On the way out, I picked up 4 bottles of Barrel Aged beers, which were pricy too. But pricy isn’t unusual for Barrel Aged beers. Fantastic service, lots of taps in the tasting room with lots of different beer styles & an unexpectedly large barrel program all made this a great visit & well worth going out of the way for. Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co. may be a tiny craft brewery, but they are definitely punching above their weight.

Not a local, from So. Cal. Came by and picked up all their bottles(except the girly pilsners). Went back home to my beer club, beer geeks, and had a tasting. Fun tasting, solid beer. Thanks Tahoe for bottling, so tired of not being able to share beers from other places(breweries). The Viejo Rojo was the hit, should have bought more… they would age well… Personally enjoyed the tasting more that the Fifty Fifty, overpriced«rare» eclipse crap I brought back…

Love the ambience here: chill tasting room surrounded by barrels, where the focus is on the beer. The beer styles tend to focus on wilds/saisons but you can find a full array from IPA to porter/stouts. Although they only serve pub snacks at the bar, they often have a food truck with solid offerings. It can get a bit crowded but everyone I run into here, from locals to tourists, are all pretty friendly. The staff is excellent, knowledgeable(gave me great advice and thoughts on servings), and incredibly patient; they are excited about the company and their products… but who wouldn’t be at a brewery? Very friendly and welcoming, even if it gets a little crowded. Definitely recommend stopping here for a growler, beers to go, or just a quick taste with some friends.

This place is just a tasting room FYI. We really enjoyed ourselves. We got a full flight of everything and tried em all out. Some good ones, some mediocre ones, some ok ones, none that were life changing, but overall, it was good. We were there at a non-busy time so we had it all to ourselves.

Fantastic beer, awesome atmosphere and excellent service. Kristina was our bartender and she had some of the friendliest service I’ve seen. I’ll be back whenever I’m around Tahoe!

We love going to Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co. when we’re in Tahoe City, so much so that when we stayed at a friends cabin up here we wanted to leave them a few bottles as a thank you. We were sad to find out the restaurant didn’t sell their brew there anymore due to alcohol beverage control laws, but curious to see what the tasting room in Truckee was like. When you pull up you wonder if you’re i the right place. Yes, you are, just keep going. It’s super industrial but the tasting room is tucked back in the left side of the cul-de-sac. We walked in about an hour before closing on a Sunday night. There was a rowdy group of kids, having a good time and left soon to head out to catch a flight from SF. As soon as they left the bartender and his(patron) girlfriend started talking about them. We ordered a flight and the bartender did a good job of making recommendations, but they continued to gossip amongst themselves the rest of the time we were there, including about other out of town guests they’ve had. WELL. Fucking techies, right? At least your beer is good. Love, Bay Area Techies

Wow. We went in after a long bike ride to have beers and dinner and the service was terrible. We ordered a starter pizza and it was so bad we decided to not stay for dinner. I would also add that the beer selection was not all that great.

2nd time visiting the tasting room and I love this place! Creative and delicious brews await you and the smiles behind the bar are beautiful too. We came on a good day and got to meet Eugene, one of the brewers, who welcomed us and showed us around the brewery. Scott poured a tasty and fun selection of Sours, Saisons, Porters and Berliners. Kumquats, peaches and apricots were a few of adjuncts to be found in their beers. If you are a beer geek like me, you are gonna love this place too!

This isn’t the restaurant, just the tasting room. So, don’t expect much in the way of food selection. A very large variety of brews at a hefty price. But you have to remember, it is the Truckee/Tahoe area. If you are looking at ordering any kegs from this place, I would look elsewhere– i.e. Great Basin Brewing Company down in Reno. GB is worth the drive and they treat their customers very well. This place does not. They really have to work on customer service. I hate places where there is a lot of pretentiousness. It’s definitely there when you step into the place. This place feels they can get away with charging $ 140 for a 5 gallon. However, if you are willing to fork over part of your paycheck, be ready to pay for the keg deposit up front(most breweries don’t charge you unless you don’t return, this one does). And be sure to get a receipt when you return the shell, otherwise they might just keep your money. Avoid brewer Eli at all cost. He is the pompous head brewer who doesn’t know anything about customer service. If you stay away from him, your visit to the tasting room might just be pleasant. Just be prepared to spend a few bucks.

Just outside the brewery facilities are 15 taps containing many of Tahoe Brewing Co’s beer. THey also have some limited edition stuff in bottles. Tried the Nitro Vanilla Porter and the DOuble Oatmeal Stout. Sampled a couple of the sour inspired beers to boot. The girl working was super friendly chatted us up and also made some great recommendations. They certainly know and love their beer. Cant believe how many selections they have and they’re willing to let you sample a wide variety and do half pours also. It’s in an out of the way place so you dont get a lot of traffic, especially on a Sunday afternoon.
