Best ever! Love the use of local produce. Love the atmosphere. Love the people. That gabaghoul sandwich. I mean, come on. So good.

Great place alongside a creek in Trumansburg NY. Had the special soup of the day Spinach, barley yogurt — yum! The pastrami sandwich was too big to finish, made on excellent rye bread topped with red cabbage and pommery style mustard. My husband had chicken salad on panini bread which he couldn’t finish either. The owner was eager to converse with us after we finished. They have Ithaca Ginger Beer and Root beer both are delicious. Reasonable prices.

I stopped here with some friends this past weekend and the food was delicious! I ordered breakfast and it was the best meal I have had out in a long time. I loved how personal the place was. They served grape jelly with the toast and it was amazing. I can’t wait to go back!

Did I go to the wrong place? Based on the other reviews you would expect this place to be empty and overpriced. I found it pretty cheap, with good food and relatively crowded. The baked goods are great. And I dig the menu selection.

I was looking for a great breakfast place and was disappointed. The omelette was overcooked, potatoes(an extra charge of $ 5) were not memorable, the toast and coffee were just OK. The place is very tiny and service was average at best. Based on the reviews I expected to find a busy place… now I know why it wasn’t. The price of $ 16 was outrageous for the quality. Won’t be returning any time soon!

I don’t know why people rate this café well? I’ve been meaning to go for a while now and was definitely lured with a strong locally sourced menu. I arrived looking forward to breakfast b/c the website SAID there was breakfast until noon on Sat… but when we arrived they said breakfast stopped at 11am and there was only lunch. That was disappointing… why would you stop breakfast items before 11am on a Saturday? The woman owner was on her phone when we arrived, settled and ordered and didn’t acknowledge us… only made some comments from her corner of the place still on her phone. We were the only ones in there! My sandwich was good… but for $ 9.00, that is pretty pricy… it would have been nice to have something accompany it… like vegs or a starch or something small. My boyfriend ordered a pastrami with bread that was local but not a great combo as it was pretty thin and not a great choice for a high pastrami sandwich… it fell apart with so many ingredients inside. He ordered the local coffee which he usually loves but today it was bitter, for some reason. They ALSO have no organic or high quality tea. Why would you have expensive, high quality coffee but run of the mill tea, that is very disappointing to me. I will go out of my way to order organic or loose leaf tea. The sandwiches did come right away but we didn’t understand about paying. We were waiting for a check but the owner seemed to have it up at the counter… I assumed we would pay at our seat… I don’t think there was a way to indicate otherwise. People on this site compliment their desserts, but I think I only saw 2, maybe 3 in the case and they did not look appealing to me. I think I’ll go back when brunch is really, for sure, served and try one more time.

Went there a few weekends ago, place is small and the service was good. The food was good and I would recommend anyone to give them a try.

We stopped in on a late Sunday morning for lunch, but it turns out they only do brunch on Sundays. We had heard their sandwiches were really good, but the brunch menu is really tasty too. Only a few things to choose from, but all of them tasty. Between the 4 of us we had verde Gaspacho, a kind of veggy banh mi thing, and a egg blt kind of thing. Everything was really good. The owners were there and super friendly. Not sure how to exactly describe the food except«modern vegetarian inspired». Lots of fresh veggies and nice clean flavors. Probably the healthiest but also tastiest thing we had all week. Also, the place was really cute. It was fairly small, but the little town it’s in is also small, so getting crowded might not be an issue.

GREATPLACE! Just had the best breakfast in quite some time. Quaint place, friendliest people, and excellent food. Only the freshest local ingredients. We’ve needed this kind of place for a long time! I’ll be going back. Highly recommended! Charlie’s corned beef is awesome!

Creekside Café is the newest culinary offering in our little village of Trumansburg, NY. Man, oh man, are we lucky to have a this offering just around the corner. Cathy Koken and Charlie Stadtlander bring their love of local food, the local farmers and producers in the area and translate it into wonderfully inspired, delicious food for breakfast and lunch. Cathy was the previous manager of the amazing Ithaca Farmers’ Market and previously chef and owner of the recognized Dewitt Café in Ithaca. We have had the Taylor ham sandwich(tasty, not skimpy on great bread), and the Breakfast Balmy(a take on Thai Bánh mì resplendent with cilantro, jalapeños, hot eggs, and pickles on a crunchy bun). Coffee is Gimme! and generously offered. Lunch is terrific with my favorite being the salads but followed quickly by their vegan, French Lentil Hummus Tartine. All syrups are made in house for seller with Lavender Syrup, Chocolate Egg Cream. The food is fresh, inspired and delicious. The community spirit of the light filled small space is happy, cozy and friendly welcoming all to come and eat, meet and be transported to sunny lake days. If you are driving through on 96, stop by and pick up a sandwich to go, or a baked good to nibble in the car. If you are visiting Ithaca, this is worth the 15 minute drive(and a trip to Sundrees and Life’s So Sweet candy store as a treat afterwards). Plan this into your wine destinations to fill up, and get goodies to go. For more information: http://Http://www.creeksidetburg.com photo credit: Robyn Wishna and Q. Cassetti.
