The Home Depot

I am disgusted with this store after this latest problem. A month ago, I had a carpet installed by them and when I purchased it, they said it would be installed within 7 business days. Well I finally get a call back from them after 6 business days and they say the installation would be the following week, even though it needed to be done within the 7 days because we were moving and the room would be filled with furniture if it was over 7 days. Well I didn’t learn my lesson and I ordered lumber to be delivered to my house. I told them I had a project starting on Saturday and they told me it could be delivered on Friday. So I call Friday to find out when it would be delivered and lo and behold they tell me there is no delivery date picked for the delivery!!! What a shock!!! Now I have to put off my project because of their inept staff. I will never spend another penny at this store or any other Home Depot. Lowe’s has my business from now on!

Yeah, my last 2 home depot Trumbull experiences left me cold. Two days ago, I purchased a florescent light bulb to replace the under the cabinet one that burned out. Bought it, pulled it out of the package, there’s something rattling around inside. Put it in the fixture. Nothing. Defective. Then I go back, get another one. Get home. Same thing. Go back again. Tried to get someone to help me find one that wasn’t defective. No such luck. I stood there for 20 minutes waiting and waiting, even thought the store had very few shoppers. I got my money back from the clerk who had no idea how to solve the problem or get me help, and I left. Pissed.
4 weeks ago, I rented a carpet cleaner from the same store. The sales clerk was downright rude to me. An older gentleman who lectured me that if I didn’t use their shampoo at 12 $ a bottle, then he wouldn’t rent the machine to me. I had cleaning fluid left over from the last time. I finally had to get tough with him, but should I have to???

This place has hits and misses. You need to ask the advisor you are working with just what their background is. Some are just salespersons who just know how to write up a sale ticket; others know the product (s). We had ordered a washer and dryer for delivery, install, and haul away for out CT home. The dryer came with a hard tube connector for the dryer rather than a flexible metal hose. My wife offered to drive to the Home Depot to get the hose but we were told the appliances could only be installed with what was on truck. So, delivery refused and no appliances for us. Bummer. More recently we purchased three comfort height toilets but our plumber found after initial installation that one had a cracked bowl and leaked. This time everyone was perfect in service. Wife brought item back, service got it out of car, receipt was there on their computer, credit issued, replacement bought (a slightly more expensive model as one we had purchased was no longer in stock as we had purchased the three they had), the purchase was taken out and checked and then it was placed in our car. Plumber installed and no problems.

Had to return a brand new lawn mower that I just bought the previous day. Ron & Paul were very curious & friendly. They even put the new one together for me. They made a frustrating situation less frustrating! Ron & Paul had great customer relation skills!

Employees very friendly and helpful! Large Store, always has what i want.

This store was so good when it first opened. Now it’s a collection of people who get paid to tell you to go f yourself. Seriously, the incompetence and indifference here is so staggering that I go out of my way to drive 20 minutes each way to Lowe’s in Derby, rather than go to this Home Depot which is two miles away from my house.
In the past weeks I have been unable to purchase or get information on the following common hardware store items:
Wallpaper smoother (No one uses wallpaper, the staff told me)
Cement molds (what’s a mold, the staff asked, incredulously, before comparing their cell phones)
Trowels (use a putty knife, suggested the staff)
Amazingly, I went to Lowe’s and they answered my questions, looked up items at other stores and loaded my car without me so much as asking.
