Was a regular here when I lived in Springville, but now I only stop by when I am in the area which isn’t nearly enough! I absolutely love their apple turnovers. They have a wide variety of produce, jams, jellies, salsa, baked goods, and their plants are top notch. If you are headed north on I-59 or Hwy 11 you should stop by!

The prices are average, the experience is superb! Local nurseries and vendors of fresh produce have been dissappearing from our local country side for years. As a matter of fact, many of the ones left buy their product from walmart because its cheaper(just kidding). I’m all about cheaper vegetables for families who are on a tight budget, but the trip out here is good for the soul. Walk around, get some exercise and fresh air. Check out the plants, produce, baked goods, and ice cream. This is a wonderful place to take kids. Its educational, its fun, its delicious. You may live in the city and have absolutely no time for a garden, but you and your kids deserve that chance to see what a local market looks like. I’m not sure where they source everything, but they definitely grow much of the flowers and plants inside the green houses. You may pay a little extra, but its worth the trip. When you are finished, get some ice cream and sit out on the rocking chairs. You may catch a cool breeze.

LOVE this place!!! I am sooo happy to have found a place around here that carries Amish Wedding products! Can’t live without their pickled eggs(unlike any you’ve ever had before) and pickled peaches! They carry these amongst many other canned/pickled items. They also have local Alabama honey for a very good price! That’s not easy to come by. It’s great to find a place that carries fresh local produce too. Their selection of cookies, pies, brownies etc. is darn near irresistible. Everything looks so yummy! Lastly, and the reason for my visit(first of many I’m sure) is their nursery. I didn’t count, but they probably have 5 or 6 huge greenhouses filled with large, healthy and vibrant plants. Indoor, outdoor, landscaping plants or herbs and vegetables. Whatever you’re looking for, they’ll probably have the best looking ones you’ll find anywhere! I’ve been shopping for some hanging plants to adorn my front porch and have checked out the ones at Lowes, Home Depot and Marvins. Those places have nothing on Williams!!! These plants put the competitors to shame. Heads up though, this is NOTINTRUSSVILLE. In fact, it’s well on the other side of Argo! Driving Gadsden Hwy(11) all the way there takes a long time. You would be wise to take I-59 to exit 148.

This local find has a pretty good selection of in-season produce, which appears to be all local. Williams also sales local honey. This is good for allergies, as the bees make the stuff from local plants — build up your immunity. Do grab a couple home-made fried pies because they are divine. And I recommend going now… they have those tartly crisp Arkansas Black apples in. We made a mean apple bread out of them! If you’re looking for seasonal flowers, they have a bunch of mums. There’s a selection of canned jellies and pickled goods as well. Williams is not that far off of the Argo exit(59 N). It’s well worth the trip if you are in the greater Birmingham area. Just be cautious on the two-lane road their parking lot dips out into. Also, these folks are almost annoyingly friendly and talkative. For an icy Brit-at-heart like me, that’s not my cup of tea. But if you’re proud of being Southern, you’ll fit right in.
