Accurate Auto

Got a letter in the mail about coming in for a free oil and filter change, so I took them up on it. It was a quick and easy process. They were very friendly, both on the phone and in person. As a bonus, they replaced my wipers free-​of-​charge.

The only real stars that are earned are for the pleasantries of Mark the owner. He is a really nice guy on the phone, but when I needed my headlights fixed, they said that I had shorted out a relay, and then the repairs were going to cost an astronomical amount. I got a breakdown of the parts cost and the labor cost and called one other shop. They were able to quote me a repair that was 30% less. I won’t be contacting Accurate Auto again for any kind of repair.

Twice they made mistakes* when repairing our clutch, requiring us to come back in twice more to get it fixed. They do get some stars for being apologetic, loaner car, and refunding money (for the core) they could’ve easily kept. I got lots of coupons after my first visit, but never heard a word of a discount on my next service for time lost and inconvenience (re-​arranged our schedule).
I’m not just on a witch-​hunt. I’m bummed that I don’t know where I’ll take my car next time. I think these guys honestly want to do a good job, but I just felt like I was putting my family at risk when screws fell out on the freeway, or there were oversights that a simple test drive would’ve easily caught. What if this had been work on my wheels spinning down the road at 65mph? My family needs an accurate auto shop working for us, not a second and third attempt at the same repair. Hopefully this was just a string of bad luck, and further honest reviews will have them shining. (I think I’m the first reviewer.)
*There were 3 different post-​repair call-​backs. One was that the new clutch was defective and had to be re-​done.
