This place is fine for prom and small event rentals but not for weddings. Small selection with more than it’s worth pricing even for rentals. The manager did not listen when my fiancé and I repeatedly told him what colors and styles we did not like. Constantly interrupting us and would not give us a minute to think or look for ourselves. We reserved some suits but most likely will not be using them.

Not a Happy Groom. Will not obviously recommend to anyone and will go out of my way to tell my horrible experience. 1st my experience was poor not because of staff but because of the owner/manager and how they are running this business. So let me tell you about being unexpectedly charged and extra $ 150 four days before my wedding. I got a «deal» rent 5 suits get a 6th suit free, which was cool because I was paying for mine and all the groomsmen’s suits. They took the cost of the 6th suit and subtracted it from the remaining 5 suits which was fine because I was paying for all the suits anyways. Well unfortunately one of my groomsmen dropped out of the wedding so I called Mr. Formal weeks in advance notifying that I won’t need that extra suit. They said that was fine and I went ahead and paid my balance of the remaining suits thinking everything was settled. The week before my weeding, I came in for the final fitting and I overheard the sales associate say something to my fiancé about still owing $ 150(why are you talking to my fiancé when I’m getting dressed? she has nothing to do with this.). Well come to find out what Mr. Formal wanted to charge me $ 150 because I am not eligible for the rent 5 get 1 free«deal» so the cost of the remaining suits increase. So I’m getting less suits but paying more?!! Why wasn’t I told this before paying my balance? I went around-and-around with the sales associate(whom I will keep nameless) for literally 30min. Here I am getting married in 4 days needing a suit and they are surprising me with this fee because I had a Groomsman drop out! Wow great service and on top of this the sales associate really didn’t want to help, seemed to have 1 track mind and it wasn’t customer service(you know the type easier to say no then think outside the box and a touch of power tripping). Mr. Formal was Basically keeping my suit hostage until I paid the fee. I’ll give the sales associate the benefit of the doubt and assume she was just following orders. She finally calls the«owner» and still Mr. Formal will not give me a break I have to pay $ 150!!! So what do I do? Well give me the stupid 6th suit that I don’t need because then my bill will be readjusted to before right? Makes sense, rent 5 get 6th free in this case is cheaper than renting 5. Well LOL this associated didn’t even want to do this, she said she didn’t want to waste the guys time at the factory sending out another suit if it’s not needed lol can you believe that? I had her do it anyways but had to pay a «rush» fee because I’m so close to the wedding. OMG I wish I would have never told Mr. Formal that I didn’t need a 6th suit(I thought I was doing them a favor). So I ended up paying the BS rush fee just to get my suit that evening and move on with my life. Listen if you want a cheep Chinese suit for Prom this is the place but I would recommend MEN’S WAREHOUSE at Bridgeport for any groom. The price is comparable and it might save you a huge headache. Moral of the story: GOTOMENSWAREHOUSE or anywhere but Mr. formal I hope they go out of business!

So far, so good. We went in to get my stepson a tux for prom and we were there only 15 minutes before closing time. I apologized, but they brushed it off as liking to get customers anytime. They started off by measuring him and then trying on a test outfit to ensure that nothing was overlooked. Then they had us pick out the items that we wanted. They would probably have taken even more time if we were picky. We weren’t, so the picking out bit only took a few minutes. The only problem was the price. We did have a coupon for $ 50.00 off, but it still came to well over $ 100.00. Maybe it is just me, but I don’t see how borrowing something can cost that much. Maybe that is the going rate, I haven’t done this before. That is why I don’t ding them one star. The friendly air won me over. We will probably go back next year for the same purpose. I just won’t like the price any better at that point.
