Great for inexpensive, authentic Mexican tacos & sopes. Finally tried this restaurant yesterday and although it took a bit to get our food, it was delicious and fresh. We tried 4 different tacos(chorizo, asada, lengua and chicken) and two sopes(barbacoa and pastor). The tacos came on real corn tortillas and sprinkled with onions and cilantro. All were good though the chicken was a little(tiny bit) dry. Loved the chorizo. They gave us three sauces on the side, all with varying levels of spiciness — a salsa verde, a creamy salsa that the woman called a guacamole and a smoky, red salsa with. None were mild so be aware if you are sensitive to heat. The sopes were also good but we ate those second and were pretty full on the 4 tacos(that 2 of us shared) so I cannot accurately review them. I noticed they have breakfast, which I will be back to try. They do not serve alcohol and I’m not sure if you can byob. If you can that would make the lack of alcohol ok by me. Very casual atmosphere, would be easy with kids.

The most authentic you an get in Tucker! If you are used to eating at cheap, mediocre, Mexican joints then of course you won’t like it! This is homemade made in your Mexican Mama’s Kitchen food! My husband and I ordered the four fried tacos. Mine was stuffed with chicken and his tacos were stuffed with soft beef. They were topped with lettuce, guacamole, fresh sour cream, and beans and rice on the side. We ordered two drinks: fresh mango juice and pineapple. Don’t expect the juice to be super sweet. This is real fruit juice! All in all it’s a great place to eat(don’t be deterred by the décor) and very affordable!

Taco naco is one of Tucker’s Mexican shindigs. It has a mom and pop feel to it. I’ve been here several times but they’ve expanded it in the past year. Very spacious and clean. Because it’s family owned, the waitress was very personable and generous. During my last visit I had 2 chicken sopes which consists of a fried tortilla topped with chicken, sour cream, cheese, avocado slices, and lettuce. It was filling and satisfying. It’s pretty messy to eat so don’t take your first date here. Hehe. My boyfriend had 3 different tacos. Chicken, tongue, and spicy beef, he enjoyed them all. The marinades were on point and very tasty. I also had a horchata but it wasn’t the best I ever had. Our entire meal was only $ 13.00! What a steal! The only thing keeping taco naco from 5 stars is the lack of chips and salsa. That’s would’ve been perfect. Anyhow, Support your local restaurants and not chains!

This is not your typical American style Mexican food. This is the real deal! You can tell that love and artistry go into the making of these dishes. BTW, if you want cheese dip, I don’t think that’s actually a traditional Mexican dish, so you’d be better off at an Americanized chain. This place has good atmosphere, is cozy, and more importantly is great quality for the price!

Been here three times now and feel confident giving it a proper review. It’s really good. Just be aware this is a really small hole in the wall place. Your basic Mexican food shack so don’t go in expecting a full restaurant service. They are not catering to Caucasian-Americans as evidenced by the large specials board written only in Spanish. I’m ok with all that because the food is stellar, in the main. I’ve had three different tortas, all really good especially the barbacoa. Always loaded with meat and difficult to finish in one sitting. Pupusas are also excellent, hard to go wrong with melted cheese in a corn meal pocket. Comes with the traditional kraut and mild red sauce. The tamales were unbelievable, but they don’t have them all the time. Just the right balance of corn masa to fillings for me, which is more meat than filling. They actually have some seasoning in the masa so it’s not super bland. Cooked just right so parts of the masa are firm and chewy while still creamy next to the meat. The pork was good but the chicken was better as long as you can handle spicy. Chicken tacos were the only disappointment I’ve had there so far. Chicken was pretty dry. I like the fact that the same two older women have been back in the kitchen prepping away really food from scratch every time I’ve been in there. Either hand forming tamales or chopping vegetables for their stews. The food is as good as anything else I’ve had in the Atlanta area that does this kind of thing. I can’t give ‘em the full five stars strictly for the limited service and run down building. But I’ll be going back often. And they deliver!

Do not go here if you want good food. When I went, the meat was obviously old(tasted a little rancid), the tortilla was stale, and the rice and beans were hard(uncooked). The worst experience I’ve had in a while.

Poor customer service. Lack of vegetarian options. Weird tasting/bland beans. I would say this place may be linked to that«authentic» label but I just couldn’t get into this place even though I really wanted to. The only thing I liked about this place and I mean the only thing was the green sauce. It was like guacamole and kind of spicy.

I had a poor experience at the restaurant. It was my first time and I won’t be going back. When I walked in, the woman was talking on the phone(she was on the phone the whole time I was there), and she kept the phone at her ear when she asked me a question. I thought she was still on the phone so I didn’t answer. This appeared to annoy her. After delivering our meals, she left my table unattended for almost the whole time I was there. When I asked for more water after having an empty glass for 5 minutes, she brought me one, but not my guest who also had an empty glass. We had to ask for utensils, and when she finally brought the check, she wouldn’t hand me my credit card back until I had signed the receipt. This made me feel like she thought I was a criminal and was going to run out. Frankly, the service was so poor, I almost wish I had! The food was just ok — nothing special. I won’t go back. This is entirely based on my experience with the uninterested employee.

Been here a few times for soft tacos. They have two different sizes to choose from, but I always stick with the smaller one. A close authentic Mexican place to home. Their food and meat here is delicious. I have noticed the tortilla/taco shell sometimes tend to be on the dry side. It isn’t consistent is what I’m saying. Some days, it’s perfect. Other days, too dry where I’ll have to tear parts of my taco. Overall, not a bad place. Delicious tacos!

I still like this place but since the change in staff I haven’t been as happy and instead of a few visits a week I’m down to a visit every couple of weeks. The new waitress is very inattentive which seems like it should actually be hard to pull off in a place with 7 or 8 tables that are almost never fully occupied when I go. She brings the food out so sporadically that there is no telling when your whole order might show up and she barely speaks above a mumble. If you need something forget about waiting for her to come back. you’re better off to just go find her. I am trying to be patient because I like their food but if they don’t do something about the service it will definitely be time to take away more stars. They’ve always been really good to us when I go with coworkers for lunch but lately not so much.

I called this restaurant for lunch delivery to my job which is 2.2 miles away. I gave them my work address and was told it would be delivered in 10 mins. Forty-five mins later, I get a call that the address is too far away. I indicated that I was only a short distance and had no means to pick up. I was told to hold and then I was hung up on. This place did not care that 45 mins of my 1 hr lunch was spent waiting and I was left without a lunch and starving!

Not a hole in the wall! I was expecting such based on the other reviews, but this place was amazing! Yeah, the building is old, but they keep it very clean inside. We were prepared to get our food to go, but it was so cozy in there and nice to get out of the bitter cold weather so we decided to stay. :) Pupusas? Hell yes. I didn’t know whether or not I’d be provided with saurkraut, but I was and was very happy about it! These pupusas had mozzerella cheese in them — yum! Tacos? Another hell yes. They are only a dollar and VERY tasty! I got a chorizo and an asada. No chips and salsa, but the waitress brought us some chips and a cheesy bean dip that we added guac and hot sauce to. Mmm! And the service was wonderful! And the food so cheap! Go now. :)

OMGoodness!!! The best, most authentic Mexican food I’ve had since I left California. Fresh, handmade tortillas, the lime/guac sauce is to die for and the friendliest people to serve you. To boot they will deliver!!! Definitely recommend this place!!!

El Taco naco is where its at. Order the caldo de hellina(hen soup) it is ridiculously good. I love mexican style chicken soup and this is the best ive ever had. The veggies are cooked to perfection and its served with cilantro, chopped onions, fresh jalepenos and home made corn tortillas(all for 7.50!!). I am addicted to this place, everything ive tried is fantastic.

The ambience was non existent, and the food wasn’t well seasoned, but it did what food was supposed to do– fill me up. I love Taqueria San Pancho, and this place didn’t match up in terms of taste of the meat. The chicken was bland and the salsa didn’t help either. I didn’t enjoy the food very much, but it wasn’t THEWORST. It was just OK. I don’t think that I want to ever go back here, unless I’m at the flower shop or hair shop next door.

Tried this place after a gyro @ Grecian-I was too close to miss a chance to try them! Really a 3.5 based on two tacos. I should go back and have a real meal to be fair. Pastor was nicely spicy and the homemade tortilla made it even better. Went down quickly! VEGALERT: Might want to stop reading here… I’ve only had chicharon deep fried, and when it is sauteed(or however they cooked it), pork skin and flab is slimy and gross for my tastes. I couldn’t eat it, and I am fairly adventurous. The people that work here are very nice, and the tv shows were racy. I’ll be back… Cheers~

Located across the street from Bikeways of Tucker. Really small dining area with a homey feeling… Typical Taqueria ambiance with loud Spanish TV and Spanish newspapers scattered about. Of the seven or so diners, I am the only non-Hispanic. All good signs. The daily specials include my favorite Oaxacan Mole con Pollo, but I decide to order some tacos instead after seeing Tripa on the menu. The pastor tacos are a tad salty, but the tripa is very good: tender and flavorful. The handmade tacos hold up fine and the meat is garnished with finely diced cilantro and onion. Three sauces are left on the table: salsa verde, red tomatillo(?) and green tomatillo. Looking at the menu again, I see they offer weekend soup specials(Menudo or seafood) and that looks like what everyone at the other table has ordered. Oaxacan mole is also on the weekend menu. I saw a tasty looking papusa they made for someone, but I did not see it on the menu. I have been back to try the Oaxacan Mole Negro enchilidas. They are presented with shredded lettuce/mayo on top and Oaxacan crumbled cheese. I found the mole sauce to be very spicy.
