Stay the hell away from this place.
I worked at Monarch a few years ago and some of the shady business practices they performed on a daily basis encouraged me to quickly find a new job. If a customer placed an order online, but soon after canceled the order the office would call for a credit alert and would contact the person’s credit card company.
I once saw them tell a customer a part they had sent back hadn’t arrived all the while it was sitting on the owner’s desk. He didn’t want to give them their due refund.
The managers also scream at employees. I don’t mean yell at them for screwing up, I mean they scream at employees all day every day. I had never had a boss call me a «$h1thead» before (or even after) I worked there.
Their products aren’t bad. They do have a nice selection, but I’ve also seen them put a refurbished motherboard into a new computer when it was supposed to be a new mobo.
I worked there many years ago, but as you can see it left a bad taste in my mouth. I was a customer of theirs until I worked for them. After all that I witnessed I decided shelling over money to a corporation like Best Buy would be better than this place.
They may close soon according to rumors, but still stay far away from them.
