Pizza review only! My son had been raving about this restaurant’s pizza, so we gave it a try the other night. The pizza was very delicious. The sauce was the difference between this and the other 6 or 7 pizzerias in the area. It was tasty, with a nice touch of garlic. The price was right at under $ 14 for a large. Now I see what my son was raving about!

First time here last night. Atmosphere was cool. There was a live performance so that was fun. I ordered the mountaineer sandwich which wasn’t that good. We waited about 45 minutes for our food. My sandwich was cold and the roast beef was overcooked. The horseradish was more like cream cheese. I’d go back but just for apps and drinks and maybe try the actual restaurant portion and not the bar.

Got seated right away on a Sat nite @ 6:00. If u sit upstairs be ready for a loud nite. Low ceiling holds all conversations. Apps were good. got the eggplant tower and gizmo(bread w/prosciutto n ricotta). Large portions. Main course wife ordered broiled scallops. had absolutely no taste. not seasoned at all. when waitress asked how meal was we told her and she responded ’ Oh im sorry”.didn’t even offer a replacement. I had crab cakes. very good.filling.desert was good. Service 7 on a 10 scale. Probably will return. sit downstairs and not order scallops.

The flounder parmagean is tasty. The fish is not dry and the sauce not salty. I also enjoyed its crispy. The prime rib is tender and not salty as well. The service is excellent. We didn’t wait long for the food to arrive.

Worst dining experience I have had in years!!! We had reservations at 6 and we were not seated till 6:30. When we were finally seated our waitress came over quickly and took our drink orders. My husband wanted to know what beers were available on tap. She was clueless and had to ask at the bar! Knew we were in trouble from the start but we let it go and continued to order our dinner. Didn’t order anything special– all off of the regular menu. After an hour my husband complained bc we did not receive our dinners yet and asked to speak to the manager… She wasn’t available to speak to him however an employee said she would relay his concerns to her… She never stopped by our table to see what the problem was. The waitress was aware and very apologetic for the delay. She also seemed very frustrated with the lack of attention the kitchen was giving to the diners. About 30 minutes later dinner finally arrived and again the waitress apologized for the delay. Again we asked to speak to the manager. About 10 minutes later she showed up to ask if our dinner was ok. We explained our disappointment and were offered a free dessert. Now mind you we ordered steaks, veal and seafood which was highly priced! I told her we had plans and had to rush through dinner because of be delay and didn’t have time for dessert. When I suggested that perhaps she could accommodate us by taking something off the bill she said she would take off 1 round of drinks which amounted to 2 beers and a sangria. When the bill came there was still a charge for 1 beer so my husband pointed it out to waitress and she had to ask the manager to remove it from the final bill… She did and never bothered to apologize. She basically removed about $ 10-$ 12 off of a $ 130 bill. So needless to say we will never return to this establishment again!

Great food and wonderful people. I’ve eaten here a couple of times over the years, but not recently. This place is fantastic. My Aunt and Uncle are regulars here and I was visiting, so we headed over for dinner. They were personally greeted at the door and a table was prepared quickly for us. The waiter(Justin) knew them, there needs and choices and treated us very well. The food was presented in a timely fashion and the was all very good. We had the Shrimp Fra Diablo, Penne Ala Vodka(with grilled chicken) and the lasagne. My daughter raved that the penne was the best she ever had. I loved the lasagne, which I never order out, and it was great. I finished the meal off with a coffee(which was ok) and the carrot cake(which was extraordinary). There’s a bar and a pizza parlor attached as well, so you don’t have to sit down for a formal dinner if you don’t want to.

There are few restaurants that we go to where the entire family loved their meals. The Grapevine last night was one. Homemade sangria was very good. Started with the eggplant with mozzarella and bruschetta appetizer which was excellent and something we’d never seen on a menu. My husband and I had the seafood broil and loved it. My father in law had the fried scallops. And my mother in law loved the crab cakes — they were huge and filled with chunks of crab. Our son ordered the beef tournadoes — wow! Perfectly cooked filet with crab in a sauce that was to die for! And the service was excellent. Chris was very attentive and very nice. We will definitely return to the Grapevine.

No, I don’t know who gives this place 4 – 5 stars, they must have a lot of friends and family. Started off with New England clam chowder had the consistency of Day old oatmeal, A gray, brown hue and enough Rosemary to choke a horse. Back it went. And so it went, not cheap either entrées $ 23-$ 28, The décor is a combination Ramada inn 1980s and VFW hall. It’s all very sad.

Every time my wife kicks me out, I go to the Grapevine. The bar is small and classy, the bartenders are professional, and the Bruschetta Pizza is insane. No Mystic Island trash and/or prostitutes there, although they do have their entertainment value at times. Slightly pricy, but if it were cheaper you’d be listening to patrons who tell you what to say to get charity care at the hospital and complain about how the local cops are assholes. Sometimes I do stupid things just so my wife kicks me out and I have a nice peaceful night at the Grapevine.

Aside from feeling like we were very out of our neck of the pineys from the other patrons, I loved this place! I loved the originality of it(the doors going back to the kitchen), the staff was great, and the food was AMAZING! My daughter had a colossal sized pizza that she felt so special that she didn’t have to share with her brother! The price for that pizza was unbelievably inexpensive. My meal was so amazing, I didn’t take a bite home! I am doing a restaurant tour and I would certainly travel back there again!

Visiting from out of town and went here tonight with my grandparents! It was fantastic. Clearly a local favorite. My grandparents knew 2 couples there and the friendly wait staff knew them and knew what booth they wanted the minute they walked in. Food: The starter salad had a delicious infused balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and house made croutons tossed with a blend of herbs and spices. I choose the flounder stuffed with crab, and veggies on the side. The veggies were a little limp… but the fish was delicious. Super fresh but the crab filling was super rich! We opted for spumoni for dessert. As this was a first I don’t have much to compare to, but the dark chocolate shell was delicious.

Food is good, but over priced. Waiter took forever and a day. And it was way TOOLOUD! I shouldn’t have to wear ear plugs to eat a meal. Not coming back here ever again.

Not my first visit to The Grapevine tonight. I prefer not to review a restaurant after one outing. Consistency is another great sign of culinary stewardship and the Grapevine has it. The hostess is not the warmest of souls to those not on the«Inner Grapevine», but once past this transient player in your dining experience it is clear sailing(coastal reference intended). The menu is very ambitious, including weekly specials. On the most recent outing, the waitstaff was very attentive, the dining room was about 60% seated, with a very tolerable background noise level. Warm delicious bread wrapped in bread towel arrives before you are through reading the first course offering on the menu. The house salad has tried and true mixed greens, small tomatoes, above average crotons topped off with a tasty dressing. With minimal timing delays, the main course(s) arrive, jumbo lump crab cakes, baked potatoes, and Fettuccine Alfredo sides. The c-cakes were delicious. The two sauce option red pepper reduction and traditional mayo based, adds an option for diners who are not crabmeat purists. The Alfredo was delicious to the point that the baked potato option dining mate showed obvious remorse in choosing the American standard(potato was a bit dry). This reviewer cannot omit how lovely the entrée presentation was. An interesting watermelon and salad greens coupled with the truly jumbo crab cakes transformed the platter into an edible masterpiece. Water glasses were well attended through the meal, the wine list also has some interesting options. Knowing room needed to be left to include dessert for a thorough review, entrée plates were not completely cleaned. The Grapevine has jumped on the no dessert menu, bring out 3D samples on a tray, which allows for end of dining sweetness fluidity. The choices were varied and plentiful, 3 chocolate cake offerings, a strawberry shortcake, key lime and cheese cake pies, hot apple cobbler, rice pudding and lava cake. Clearly something for anyone who had room left in their dining belly. With a great sense of dining timing the waitstaff appeared with check. Nothing shocking and worth every penny, well most pennies. Rating: 1 fork, 1 knife and .5 spoon, the equivalent of 4 stars or a B+, if using academic grading.
