Ocean East Buffett

Went on a weekend to get snow crab, and they were VERY limited, so had to eat other items. Other food was just OK, but the sushi offering was a joke. The wait staff was very attentive. The hostess could have cared less if I were there or not. Will I go back,…not for a $ 17 buffet.

I went once for the buffet years ago, and it wasn’t so great that it stood out in my mind as being anything special, and the food is good, but not so amazing that I would recommend going out of your way. However, as far as I know, it’s the only Chinese buffet in Tuckerton.
Recently, I went there just to get takeout to bring back to my shore house. There were two hostesses at the desk, and they were both really friendly and attentive. My mom and I sat waiting for our food, and we were asked two or three times by waitresses, hostesses, and even the manager if we wanted to have water, coffee, or tea while we waited for our takeout to be finished. I was blown away by that offer, because no other Chinese food place has ever been so nice as to offer a drink while you are waiting. That gesture alone made me want to continue to go back there in the future.

Extremely lacking in food options! Most of the items were dried out and looked extremely unappetizing. The dishes I did try were lackluster and lacking in a any discernible flavor. It was a high price too considering there was no quality to their food and the service was sub-​par. Dishes were never replaced and most of the dishes did not ever consist of Chinese food!!. All in all, I would not go back again and I would not recommend.

Three stars because the staff were very nice, friendly and attentive. The food was okay, but there weren’t very many options. We were told that the lunch rush had just ended, and that was why there weren’t very many items. Although, the staff told us that if there was anything is particular that we wanted, they would prepare it for us in the back. Would give this place another try!

We should have charged them 20% for the unreasonable lack of food (see my photo). We got the waitress to confess that they’re not supposed to give out napkins as well lol.

I come here with my family often and am never disappointed. The place is clean and the food is always fresh. The employees are also very nice. Not only that, the prices are great and reasonable. Out of all the Chinese restaurants I’ve been to, this is by far the best. I would definitely recommend this buffet, you won’t be disappointed!

I used to really like it in here, but recently it has been going downhill. The employees are miserable, you will probably only see your waiter once, and the food is often cold or has been sitting out so long that you don’t want to eat it. I don’t know what happened, I used to love Ocean East.

Very friendly owner but she swiped my card twice and told me to call her if I get charged twice… Even though I didn’t I thought that was just weird. Food is OK like just edible. They double the prices after 3. I know this because once I went at 245 and the guy (maybe her husband) told me to hurry up. I’m being generous with the two stars because of the servers who fill your drinks are always friendly

Again not at all a fan of the Chinese Buffet model. But with that said. This place is decent. Nothing great but definitely much cleaner than your average buffet. They do offer some decent prime rib and reasonably fresh seafood. And the Walnut Chicken is a major highlight .

Great Mongolian grill! Everything else was your average buffet but the service was good, friendly waiter and the atmosphere a step above most buffets. They are open late and the food was still fresh at 9:00 pm.

Ive been a few times on the way back to NYC from Atlantic City. The owners are very friendly and the service is good, considering it’s a self-​serve buffet.
Hot tea/​hot water provided. Quick clearing of plates for next meal.

I’d recommend dinner because of the Himalayan stir-​fry where you pick from an array of vegetables, meats, seafoods — top on some noodles and the chef cooks it fresh with the spice
Sushi variety is OK
And of course frozen soft serve for dessert at the end!
Considering the choices in the area, this is definitely a good bang for your buck and a good variety of Chinese ‘take-​out’ style food versus authentic food. You will definitely leave with a full belly
