Addis Karen MD

I had originally picked Dr. Addis because a) new health insurance listed her, and b) she seemed to have decent (if not great) reviews online. She can’t be that bad, I thought. Little did I know that the reviews about her and this place are 100% accurate.
After waiting nearly 50 minutes to be called back (even though my apt was the first apt of the day), Dr. Addis comes into the room, and I kid you not, 10 minutes later she was out the door. She was VERY impersonal. Barely said hello before telling me to lie down. THEN once she was done, tried to immediately leave. Since I had some concerns that I had been waiting for this apt to ask (which I communicated to the nurse AND was on my patient forms), I was very taken aback. But I still tried to ask, and her every response was «you’re young, you have time.» Seriously? Someone is asking you to discuss their concerns, and you wave them off by stating that I’m young? So I have to be in my 40s for you to take my concerns seriously and spend more than 2 minutes answering my questions? And it was very clear the entire time I was asking her questions, she was trying to leave. She literally was edging towards the door, with this look on her face that I was bothering her.
Now, considering this is usually one of the least comfortable experiences a woman ever has to deal with, and it leaves you feeling very vulnerable and exposed, I’m horrified that this woman couldn’t give me basic human decency, and literally tried to be in and out of the room in 5 minutes.
I have since canceled my follow-​up appointment and made it with another office. I have high hopes they will be MUCH better than Dr. Addis and her cold crew.
So in conclusion, stay away from here unless you prefer the drive through express version that Dr. Addis apparently promotes.

It’s weird but every year I walk out of my visit talking to myself about how great my experience is and how I love her as my GYN! She’s gentle, fast and friendly. I’ve done my annual exam with at least 6 others and she is the best! I want to give her more than 5 star review! I’ve never had a negative experience with Dr. Addis!

No one wants to talk about the lady doctor visits, but STAY AWAY FROM THIS WOMAN!!! I have never been so roughly treated by a doctor in my life. I would give her zero stars if I could. I went to her 8 or 9 years ago when I was in college and had to go to the lady doctor for the very first time. I was young and chose her because she was a female doctor recommended by my nurse practitioner. I had a legitimate condition common to young girls and she treated my pain like it was because I was just some pansy who couldn’t handle myself. She actually scoffed at me when I started tearing up in the appt. She upset me so badly that I went out to the car and cried for 20 minutes before I could pull myself together enough to drive home (and I remember this 8 years later!). I have a pretty high pain tolerance from a lot of past dental surgeries where doctors have told me that I’m «an amazing patient» and that they wish other patients were this easy going, so it’s not me. It’s her. I switched to Dr. Miller (not sure of his first name) afterwards, and he was phenomenal — calm and understanding, took time to explain things and answer my questions. I would recommend him, but he had to leave AZ because the malpractice insurance was too high. Now I live in LA and am going to an amazing practice by Cedars Sinai with a group of doctors who all get 5 stars from Unilocal-​ers. Tell everyone you know that there are better doctors in Tucson than this cruel woman who just wants to get you out of the office as soon as she can!
