Approved Painting

We called Approved Painting this August 2013 to get an estimate to paint our house. The owner Bill, came over to give us an estimate. He was very nice and even came over on Sunday to accommodate our schedule. He gave us an estimate which was pretty much average. We agreed on starting the job at the end of August. We knew the shade that we wanted but we weren’t sure exactly which color.
He came by the house one day while we were at work at put two samples on the wall at the rear of the house. We weren’t to crazy about either and asked him to show us two more shades. He told us that he wanted to start painting the next week which was two weeks before we had agreed on. The day he came to put the last two samples his crew started prepping the house for painting. We still had not chosen a shade and felt rushed to do so. We have children and both work. We have very busy schedules.
We wanted the trim of the house to be a little darker than the color of the house. He said he could do that by making the actual color used on the house a little darker. Once the house was finished, you couldn’t even tell that the trim was darker. It all looked the same color! And that wasn’t just our opinion it was also the opinion of several neighbors and friends. He was already paid in full! I called him and expressed my concern to him but he didn’t seem convinced and said that it would be an extra $ 400.00 or more to change the color of the trim.
He came over and we both looked at the house and he still disagreed with me when it was so obvious that the house looked as if it was all just one color. I also pointed out some areas of the house that they missed and the front and rear door where they used a brush on the edges after using a sprayer on the rest of it.. . very sloppy! He agreed with that and even looked around and said that they would come back, fix those areas and clean the cement walkway where they had spilled paint.
Again, we felt rushed to find a shade that we wanted for them to use on the trim/​pop-​out of the house because he was sending his crew at the end of that week! I took the time out to make several trips to H.D. trying to find the right color and buying multiple samples of paint! Finally found one that we liked and selected that one.
He sent his crew and changed the color of ONLY the pop-​out for a much smaller fee. They also fixed SOME of those ares that they missed while painting. They NEVER cleaned our cement and the owner never came back or called to see if we were happy with his work and never gave us a receipt even after I asked him for one.
So now we will have to find time out of our hectic schedules to paint the areas that they missed and clean the cement ourselves!
Next time I will use another company!

We are very satisfied with their service and product.
The quality of paint that they use is much better than some of their competitors.
We will continue to use them and highly recommend them.
