I took the Unilocal Shops Local Pledge and put it into action at Bohemia! I know quirky people, and by quirky I mean people who have EVERYTHING. So when it comes time to do some holiday gift giving, Bohemia is always on my list. I can’t tell you what I picked out for fear that the receivers are reading all of my reviews, but suffice it to say the place is packed with a WILD collection of locally made items perfect for him and her. If you shop the local Tucson artisan circuit, you’ll recognize some of the pieces. And the girls are always willing to walk the store, searching high and low for the«right» thing. I saw these hand made pens that were pretty kickin’. Handmade? Yup. And there was some really cool platters and wall collages that I passed on due to size and this trip was all about things that can ship. I’ll come back and update this review once I know my peeps have gotten their goods, can’t spoil the surprise! Thanks Bohemia for eflin’ yourself and helping me pick some radtastic stuff!

There are many things to love about Bohemia. The customer service is good but not intrusive. If you have a question, simply ask and Tana and the ladies will do their best to help you find that perfect thing. They will never hard-sell or follow you around the store pestering you. For returning customers there is always a happy smile, friendly world, and some cheerful conversation. I always feel so welcomed and so well helped when I go to Bohemia. The real charm, though, is the beautiful stock of original artwork that they carry. It’s almost like going into a gallery except that you can touch and interact with just about everything in the shop. You can also take it all home with you! Their prices are reasonable and run the gambit from fun little, inexpensive gifts to well-priced large painting and original furniture. Also, the probably have some of the most unique, fun yard-art in Tucson. I cannot say enough good things about Bohemia. I have really never had a bad experience there and I always come home with some wonderful gift for a friend or family member. Occasionally, I even get to shop for myself. Last time I bought an adorable handmade, stuffed purple cat for my goddaughter and it was a huge hit when I presented it. Bohemia wins again!

So! I love Bohemia! The girls are usually very very friendly and chatty. I have only had one bad experience and that was quickly turned around with the great items they have. I am such a hippie and i love being able to see people’s creativity expressed in goods that are purchasable. I AMADDICTED to the Lotion and Oils from Kuumba Made. I will go no where else! Hard brown sugar? No thank you! I love it when you’re at home and you realize you need something, like the terracotta disk to keep your brown sugar moist. Then the next day you stop into a cool place like Bohemia and they have terracotta disks for a reasonable price. I love supporting local artist and Bohemia is a great one-stop shopping extravaganza. It is organized and the signage is helpful along with the knowledgeable staff.

I love wandering into and around this store. There is always something eye catching, interesting and inspiring. There are lots of good values and then some very pricey items. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that it always seems like the people at the counter are a little«too cool» I just wish they were a bit more welcoming!

I went to Bohemia Art Gallery to take a quick peek at the fun, hippy art on one Saturday evening. Coincidentally, on that night Bohemia was celebrating its 8th anniversary. The place was filled with artists and art connoisseurs. There was a live band, and complementary beer and wine — It all definitely made the visit a memorable one. I really loved the full of color art, funky jewelry and unique knick-knacks.

Being raised by two hippy happy artists… I’ve been dragged to more galleries and shops than I would ever like to admit. Or relive! with that being said… I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on judging art out there. First off, kudos to the owners for taking over the old Austin’s spot and not leaving it as an eyesore.(although i do miss those little scoops of icecream!) The true gems are closer to the back… the paintings. prints…hair accessories and jewelery. The less expensive items toward the front tend me to a bit on the«craftier» side — I like my art a bit on the disturbing, dark and gritty side — no glitter hearts for me!!! Great way to represent a variety of local artists. talked with the owner for a bit and it sounds as though there is a waiting list for the joint. So buy local people! Excellent selection of dia de los muertos crafts … lovey love!

While on another cosmic adventure I wandered into The Bohemia Art Gallery just as an off the cuff activity and was pleasantly surprised by the local art flavor. Clothing art, purses, and jewelry… all unique and very rich in quality… obviously made with love. A few special NYers will be ifted for the holidays from this shoppe. Hail to Liz!

I love this place! Bohemia is as good as it gets for local Tucson art. There are amazing works from every medium here. Everything is handmade by artists in the area. Favorites like DD Co and Rand Carlson grace the walls. The openings are always fabulous and fun and a great opportunity to meet the artist and shop late, too. They offer later hours in the holiday shopping season, too. Last time I was at Bohemia they had just received merchandise from a new artist. I was excited to be one of the first to purchase the little painted rocks because they spoke to me. They always have a perfect and unique gift, for myself… and friends, sometimes! Bohemia is such a great part of the Tucson art scene. I can’t think of anywhere, Tucson or otherwise, that provides high quality works from as many local artists at such reasonable prices. Keep up the good work!

i drive past this place all the time in tucson. i see it pretty much every day and today was finally the day i decided to give into my desires and stop in. the name, bohemia, to me implies that this will be cute, artsy and interesting. i know you don’t expect someone like me, with my jeans & dropkick murphys t-shirts, to enjoy such hippie-ish tastes, but, confession, i do. and so does my mom… this would be the perfect place to find her a cool new sacred heart or interesting piece of art, thinks ally. but as much as i enjoy hippie-esque shit, i also enjoy having money in my pocket. this place seemed far too eager to have me part with said cash. *sigh* i guess the other ideal i had about this place was that it would be cute, artsy, interesting and NOTSOGODDAMNEXPENSIVE! seriously, 20 bucks for some random picture of freida lacquered to a piece of wood with a lil mount in the back? honestly? this thing was MAYBE the size of my hand… i could print the pic of the internet, paste it to a chunk of dead tree & spray lacquer myself for less money… and prolly less effort than it would take to dig out my debit card & sign a slip. or i could have my artsy roomie do it… then it would be even cheaper/easier! and anyway, who wants a pic of freida hanging around… not this monkey! all in all, a big space, with some interesting things to see… somewhat one-note…and very pricey… i don’t think i will walk through their doors again.

Bohemia is the best possible place to find unique handcrafted gifts. I physically cannot restrain myself from purchasing something every time I go in there, but have not regretted a thing yet. The best jewelry is there, and much of it totally reasonably priced. And this is all stuff made by people right here in Tucson(or at least Southern Arizona). They have everything from amazing art for your walls, to garden sculpture to clothing(some amazing recycled clothing in particular, as well as some great t-shirts and baby clothes). There are great stained glass creations, and even incredible, unique furniture and glass art(you gotta love the hand blown glass potted cacti!). Did I mention the jewelry? You can get something at Bohemia in every price range, and if you end up going a little over budget, you can feel good justifying that it’s going to support our local community’s artists.
