I rented a house through this company a few years ago near the university.
Things started great, but the house was old so naturally things started happening.
The first instance, the one repair guy who works for them came over and fixed a leaky pipe no problem. The next time, the owner/​one of the staff came along for whatever reason. They were fixing a broken window mechanism and as the repair guy was fixing it, the blinds on that very window fell. The repair guy fixed it but we found out later the owner/​staff member felt that we should have been charged for those blinds. We ultimately weren’t, but it was a fight.
Second instance, our house was broken into and computers were stolen. The old windows that crank open were forced open (no broken glass), so we got a police report. We asked Burns to ask the owners to put bars on the windows, but they wouldn’t. I drove by the house 2 months after we moved out, and there were bars on the windows.
Overall, they are very nice when you’re looking to rent, but as soon as you sign that contract, don’t expect much from them. The owner is not a nice person and will fight you for ever penny, regardless of the true cost of the repair or the cause. I was thrilled to leave their rental property and will never be returning. It’s unfortunate because they have some pretty cool properties.

Dave Burns and team have been our property managers for almost 10 years. First we briefly tried another management company and we’re not happy. The communication, attention to detail, follow-​up, record keeping, responsiveness, etc has been wonderful with Burns Development. Thank you Dave and team.

Wonderful management of my property from Burns Development ! I have had Burns manage my rental property for over 8 years now without any problems. They find great tenants for me and handle all the paperwork. They always inform me of any repairs that need to be done and fix them to my satisfaction immediately. The are very proactive with my property. The staff always knows who I am when I call and can always give me the latest information. A pleasure to work with.

I had a terrible experience the 1 year I was leasing under Burn’s Development. I would not recommend this ragtag group of conniving and unorganized individuals to my worst enemy. Bring your business elsewhere, this is not a company you want to try to work with.
