One star, you say? Perhaps it was the unpleasant, obese and drunken barfly who greeted us with a glazed-over«and you walked in even though the open light was off?», when the light was on(it was just after 9:00). Perhaps it was the server who acted as though she was working there against her will. Perhaps it is the Chuck E. Cheese-ish quality of the pizza or the cold wings. Perhaps it was the bartender that overcharged us for our beer and then shortchanged us upon payment. So many reasons to give this establishment a single star. I’ll settle for this: Tucson simply deserves better. Any city does, really. But in a place as gastronomically diverse and pizza powered as the the Old Pueblo, I can’t imagine how a place like this keeps the doors open. It lacked any redeeming qualities whatsoever. As someone who spent the first 30+ years of my life in Tucson this place, in the end, just left me sad. Do yourself a favor and eat at any one of the hundred plus pizzerias in town that actually care about what they do.

We have always enjoyed our experience at BZ’s, but tonight things were not up to par. We were a party of six, and waited a very long time to even get all of our drinks, let alone be able to put in our order. There was only one waitress, and she was also trying to be the bartender, as well. It was a Monday night, and the place was very full. I understand they may not have been expecting a big crowd, but it was very disappointing. We waited over an hour to get our food, and no apology or discounts were offered. We eventually asked for compensation and received a 10% discount off the bill. Hardly made up for the inconvenience, especially considering we had family in from out of town and wanted to give them a taste of hometown pizza. It is my understanding that the original owners are no longer involved, so we may not be coming back. Pizza was good, but not worth the wait.

Great wings and pizza! It’s a small place from the outside but it’s awesome on the inside.

We’ve been going to BZ’s for a few years now, and is a great go to place for us! Pizza, wings, beer! What more can one ask for in life? Seriously, BZ’s does it all nicely! If pizza isn’t your thing, they have many other options! From pasta dishes to sandwiches to dessert. Everything we’ve tried was great! The atmosphere is casual, and good for families and kids. As far as the pizza, I find it one of the best in Tucson! They have a huge selection of craft brews on tap, and a bar area for other drinks. They also have a wine list. I have to say the service here has been great! One time we were there, it was so busy they were going table to table trying to get extra beer glasses to wash because they were running out so fast! As busy as they were, the bartender came out and took our drink and appetizer order so we didn’t have to wait! So if you are looking for a place on Tucson’s east side, give them a try!

The food is really good. We always get house salad and pizza. They have good ranch which is hard to find. Lol. But I was told by a sever, that their Dr. Pepper was really Root Beer and Diet Coke. Which I believe because it taste crappy. Other than the fake Dr. Pepper everything really good :)

Very good food. Exceptional service and amazing prices! The only thing that wasn’t very good was when we walked in it took them a little bit to seat us, other than that it was a fantastic experience. Will definitely go again to this pizza place.

Wish they would get rid of the few careless bartenders that they have. There is always a sweet little blonde girl running around doing everything while the others act very careless. Have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and beer selection. Just put up with the rest.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. BZ’s is full of Surprises. This is some serious grub for foodies ! From the Brie appetizer to the Risotto that accompanies their perfectly grilled Salmon. They have regular fare as well for those who just want wings and pizza.

We love this place. My family usually goes here about once a month. The staff is always very friendly and if they mess up an order they own it. For example one night there with a large group they brought out the wrong pizza. The told us to keep it at no charge and they made us another. Their rotating beer list is fantastic. Our favorite pizza is the Hammer.

I REALLY wanted to like this place my philosophy is you cannot fuck up a pizza. I ordered a bud light and the waiter didn’t even card me I had JUST turned 21 and I was very surprised. We ordered a starter of wings half buffalo and half garlic parm the buffalo ones were pretty good not too hot but just enough to burn a little. The garlic ones however were like someone dipped the wings in Alfredo sauce. It was gross. Our waiter was also the hostess she was running around like crazy. She was good about drinks but I ordered the Bz special I believe it called that comes with sausage, pepperoni, onion and peppers. I asked for«half with no peppers and onions.» When it came out one half had onion and the other peppers. I asked another waiter since ours had been absent for 5 – 10 min and told her the order wasn’t right. Then our waiter showed up and asked so you want half without peppers and onions? And I told her yes. When she came around and apologized later she smelled like vodka and cigarettes. I’m writing this review while waiting for my corrected pizza…

The pizza toppings are fresh and delicious, but the crust is tasteless and razor thin. The place should be renamed, «Chuck E. Cheese, Jr.» Only go there if you don’t mind children climbing the walls and running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The menu is difficult to read. The words are printed in a white, hazy font on a dark background.

Ok normally love this place, but tonight something really pissed me off! I was watching a pretty good UFC fight for over 20 minutes! Then Adam the BT comes and stated oh there is a fight on the TV and turns it off! I ask why, he stated that the manager does not allow fights on the TV! WTF? Umm I’m a paying customer, I’m buying beers and helping keep your business open, and you keep your job, and you get to decide what I can watch on the TV! BullShit! And then he stated if you can beat me in a fight, you can watch it, oh how I so wanted to take that challenge you arrogant bald headed fuck! But my Mom raised me better! My opinion of this place just dropped dramatically! Love Mike, and his family, love the beer and wings, but this truly pissed me off!

Thin crust pizza. A bit greasy for what we are used to but really delicious and unique toppings. We had The Hammer. Went at 8 on a Thursday night and they were fairly busy. Fun place for drinking but we don’t and felt comfortable. There was also a family vibe. Seemed popular with all ages. There was a live jazz and blues band that didn’t play for too long which was kind of nice bc it gave us a chance to talk. Nice local place. Will go again.

We’ve been passing it by… A LOT! It’s right down the street from us. Instead of the FAVORITENYPIZZA(across the street), we decided to give a new place a try! Nutshell: Wings(Hab/mango).look burned but are not. they have maybe a spice rub on them, I tasted Ginger, soy… they were good. Not what i was expecting from a Habanero Mango… I’d go back to try more of the wings again. Garlic knots: Meh. ok. not the best, not the worst… the marinara sauce tasted very bland to me. more salt, more garlic please. Calzone: not impressed at all! we ordered sausage(this meat was sliced) and mushroom… Their was just a tiny, tiny smear of ricotta on the bottom… it was filled with the meat/mushroom.some mozzarella cheese .it was more a «dry”/crisp calzone. Not what i am used too(NY).I prefer more bready and lots of ricotta. Just my taste preference. Pizza: Meh. we had ordered the Hammer(Onions, marinara and pesto sauce, sausage, pepperoni, capicolla, ham, and roasted bell)…thin crust, lots of toppings, it’ll give them that. But in my opinions, too much onion… it overpowered the meats. the red bell pepper tasted like out of jar. i had 1 piece… my husband did like it. i wasn’t impressed but i did like the sausage topping. it was crumbled and it was very flavorful. The waitress was nice. The beer selection has a nice variety. I’d go back for the beer and the wings. I’ll give it another shot and possibly order one of the sandwiches.

BZ’s Pizza is hidden back behind the McDonalds at Broadway and Camino Seco. There aren’t many independent pizza shops on the far east side, so I was already eager to try this one when I finally visited two weeks ago. The best thing about the experience was the pizza, which was perfectly cooked without being soggy. And it tasted pretty good. The rest of the experience was rather poor, for dinner time on a weekday. The restaurant was busy, but not fully packed. The first and most apparent issue was the volume of the music, which was blasting from large stereo speakers sitting on top of a partial wall near the table. It was impossible to carry on any conversation. Service was bad from the beginning, with the server saying«I’ll be back in a second to get your drink orders» and then disappearing for eight minutes. The server dropped off our appetizer and left so fast that we couldn’t remind her that we had no silverware, napkins, or plates. We sat there and stared at it for four minutes before we were able to flag someone down and get basic utensils. Service continued to be virtually non-existent for the rest of the meal, and at every stage we waited. Sometimes, our waiter would come out of the back but when I tried to flag her down, she would turn the other way and walk away. Two stars for the delicious food. Try them for take-out. The dining room isn’t worth your time or frustration.

We have been to BZs a few times, now. I like to give a place a few tries before I make a strong review. Each time has been a 5 star experience! The first time, we ordered individual dishes. A couple times after that, we got the pizza. We have even ordered pizza for carry-out a couple times. The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly, and it is a very clean, fun atmosphere. I definitely recommend the Hammer and the Good Fella Pizzas. I absolutely loved the Portobello Ravioli and Garlic Knots, and my husband enjoys the Calzones.

Food: This place is close to where we live and I’m so sad that we just now tried it! I would drive further than the 10 minutes to get this good of pizza! This thin crust pizza ranks in my top 3 pizzas in Tucson. Fresh ingredients, crispy crust, amazing meats & baked to perfection. Amazing beer selection! Service: Amazing! They are so friendly here. Greeted promptly and taken to our booth. Waitress was very attentive and continually checking back to make sure food was good and to see if we needed anything else. Atmosphere: Family friendly. Great for date night, family nights out or a group gathering. Wide open spaces with booths, tables, big bar area as well as a little game area for the kiddos. Very clean and well put together. If you have never been here and you love pizza, come here you won’t regret it.

Last night we had dinner at BZ’s Pizza. It was our first time for BZ’s; we found it on Unilocal. The BZ’s is located on the corner of a stripmall. The inside is devided into two areas. The bar area and the dinning room area. We wanted to see Thursday night football so we sat in the dinning area, the TVs are closer and easier to watch. Our first impression of the menus was that it seemed to be a bit overpriced. Since I wasn’t starving and the full size pizzas and entrees seemed expensive we ordered a personal size Hammer pizza($ 5.25) and habanero mango wings($ 9.50). I also ordered a Anchor Steam Christmas beer on draft($ 5.00). The Hammer pizza was good, not a large size but it sure had a lot of toppings. It was cut into small mini slices, which was cool. When the wings came to the table the first thing we said to the server was«these are burnt» she insisted they were not burnt and left the table. We gave the wings a try and they were burnt. They were ‘habanero mango’ but they didn’t taste like mango at all, just sugary and burnt. We flagged down the manager and asked to get another personal sized Hammer pizza instead of the wings. We would never have asked for an exchange if it was just a matter of flavor, but the wings weren’t good enough to eat. As a note, there were a lot of people smoking e-cigarettes in this restaurant. This doesn’t totally bother me, but I found it strange. There was a table of 5 – 6 teenagers, all with e-cigarettes, and a lady right across from us in a booth who was smoking an e-cigarette the entire time we were there. Overall this is a place I will probably not be going back to. It isn’t terrible just not that great.

After visiting several east side pizza places over the last couple of weeks in our quest for a.) decent pizza, b.) with bar service and c.) a decent atmosphere where we felt encouraged to stay and enjoy the pizza rather than take it home to eat, my wife and I decided to visit BZ’s last night. We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered what the restaurant calls«The Goodfella» … The pizza was among the best we’ve had in Tucson. A good, thin crust, generous toppings and excellent sauce. My wife, not a beer drinker, decided to have a beer with the pizza. Unsure what to chose, our server offered her a small sample of one of the beers on tap. Outstanding! And, though the lighting at our table was too dim to read the menu without some effort, the atmosphere was otherwise very comfortable. It’s difficult to rate the service. Any failing can probably be attributed to management rather than to our server … who ran her buns off(and I mean she was literally running!) to take care of everyone in her section. The only thing that might have improved our servers performance would be perhaps one more server on duty. Was the service a little slow? Yes. We witnessed a table of customers leave after drinks but before they placed their order because of their own impatience. Was the service as good as it was humanly possible under the circumstances? Under the circumstances, I thought the service was as good as it could have possibly been … and tipped accordingly(ie. more than I normally would). Will we go back? Definitely. The pizza was worth any small inconvenience that we might have experienced resulting from our server not being super-human, but doing everything humanly possible to accommodate her guests.

the new location is a winner! larger, cleaner, and a much better atmosphere! The Hammer pizza is my favorite. just enough drops of pesto on the pizza to add a little something special. We had their Parmesan wings which were hot(a must for wings) but I didn’t love the flavor of them — I little too much ranch/white sauce on them for my taste, but my brother loved them. I then had a ½ Gorgonzola salad which was really large(I’m glad I just got the half order). Fresh lettuce, roasted red peppers, pine nuts — yum! was surprised they had no beer specials or anything — that would have been nice — and a reason to come back more often. the service was solid. If they were busier it would have been a problem, but we got their early enough that the one waiter and the manager were able to stay on top of the tables. A definite step up from their last location — hope they can make it work here

Would be a 5 star review if we were able to order our food sooner! :) I had a spinach salad with chicken it was amazing. My friend had a personal pan pizza and it looked so delicious! We work a couple doors down and we will definitely be back! The place is so cute, and looks like it could be a lot of fun. I’m definitely going to take my husband here for dinner one night. :)

We had been to their former location and been happy with the pizza. Now they have moved and I don’t want to necessarily say they are reinvented, but the new space is way cooler than the last and there seems to be more focus on being a «destination». Not quite sure what I mean by that yet, but hang with me and, by the time I finish, it may make more sense to you… and to me. Let’s start with the bar. They have a very good selection of beer on tap(24 if I recall right) as well as wine and a full bar. The Odell Myrcenary and Dragoon IPA’s that I had were served VERYCOLD and were a perfect pairing with the mango habanero wings I ordered. Speaking of wings — I asked for the wings extra crispy and they came out cooked perfectly. When I see the combination of habanero and mango on a menu I tend to shy away because it’s hard to balance the two. They achieved the perfect balance of spicy habanero and sweet mango. I would definitely get those wings again. The other nice thing was that they let us split the sauces on the order or wings, so my wife could get her half with BBQ sauce, which she said was quite good… and she is not usually a huge wing fan. I did something I hardly ever do… I let my wife be completely in control(we are sometimes like mango and habanero — guess which one is which). I told her she could order whatever kind of pizza she wanted and I wouldn’t second guess her choice. She settled on ham and pineapple. What a great choice! The pineapple was more like tidbits than chunks, the ham was slightly caramelized from the heat of the oven, the sauce and cheese was perfect and it all sat atop a nice CRISPY crust. This was some righteous pizza. We were waited on by a gentleman who, I assume, is one of the owners. I don’t want to say he was aloof, because he was friendly but seemed disinterested in serving tables. Back to my «destination» comment. Because of the large menu, the quality of the food, the bar, the numerous TV’s throughout the place and general vibe, BZ’s seems like a place to go catch a game or go on a Friday or Saturday night when you just don’t want to worry about counting calories and just enjoy yourself.

Let me preface this by saying that my smartphone screen is getting nice and oily b/c I am writing this while finishing off my calzone… sans utensils. Bare handed like one giant glorious Hot Pocket. If only Hot Pockets actually tasted this good… Anyway, it was my first time to this restaurant, and it definitely won’t be my last! Apparently this facility is new. The restaurant moved to this location a week or so ago, but the restaurant itself has been around for about 5 years. I have mixed feelings about finding out this news. Happy that I found a pizza/calzone joint that I will be a regular at, but sad that I have been missing out on their delicious food for the past 5 years. They are still putting the finishing touches on this place. I can’t wait to go back when everything is 100% set! The bf and I were making it a Blockbuster, er… Netflix night. ;) We were in desperate need of take out. We each ordered a calzone. You select the fillings from a list. The bf got his with mushrooms, onions, and eggplant. I chose artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and pesto for mine. They came with a side of marinara sauce. I loved mine so much, I ate it without! Delicious oozy cheese with tangy artichoke hearts and pesto hit the spot! :) The bf loved his too. Can’t wait to go back! Now pardon me while I wipe off my cellphone… ;)
