Catalina Optical

I am almost afraid to write such a positive reviews, and result in a longer wait for the inexpensive, fine glasses Catalina optical provides. I have been a customer for several years and have half a dozen sun, reading, bifocal and designer glasses from them. There could not be a better place.

I was really surprised reading the negative review on this place. I have been using Catalina for years, have sent in my wife and kids in and have always had good experiences. These guys are masters at making new lenses and doing it right! They have not only built new sets of glasses but have also custom cut lens’s to fit in my own cool frames (well to me they are cool) my wife says I look like a dork in them. what does She know? Anyway Id give them a try, its nice to find a shop that has really experienced people who really know what they are doing when it comes to your taking care of your vision.

So, after all the help the owner of Catalina Optical gave me personally with my own glasses I was very disappointed in the treatment I received when I brought my wife in to get some lenses for glasses she purchased in another city. What a letdown. We walked in and immediately he says jokingly (not jokingly) «no outside frames!». I laughed it off and we took out the frames she wanted lenses put in. He proceeded to give his personal opinion of the frames (which is not a big deal honestly) and tried to get us to find a pair in his shop that we liked. I tried to be nice, but we just didn’t love anything they had at the time. After trying on a dozen pairs he kept on about how he didn’t like the pair we brought in. He wasn’t being nice anymore, just rude. We ended up leaving when it was obvious he wasn’t going to help us with our lenses unless we bought frames from him. I’m really bummed. I really liked that place. Why did he have to be such a jerk?
