Outdoor patio? Check. Cool spot to casually drink beers with the homies. Bartenders were super nice and funny too. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in Tucson.

Everyone commenting on how racist the bartenders/owners are at this location are 100% correct. I went in one Friday evening with my boyfriend and another girl friend only to be served by a fat, old, balding bartender. My boyfriend paid his drink in cash first, and I paid mine with a debit card afterwards. However, the bartender came back with my receipt and threw it at my face for no apparent reason. When he came back to collect his tip, we asked what was wrong with him and he yelled at us to «F*ck off», stating that he could not believe that my boyfriend didn’t pay mine and my girl friend’s drink. We were so shocked that I ended up not leaving a single tip. As we walked towards the outside patio, the bartender repeatedly told us to «Go f*ck ourselves», by making this big show and aggressively pointing a finger at us. We were in shock at how inappropriately this man treated us. Looking back, we figured it was more of a racist issue against Mexicans.(Which is rather odd, because probably over 50% of that bar’s population is made up of Mexican-Americans living in Tucson). Whatever the reason, I will never return in my life.

Artsy environment kinda bar. Small area for bands, gets crowded but that’s just half the fun. Vintage video game in the corner. No cover, great art on the walls and quick batten ding services. Music was retro on a Saturday night but it was nice to hear something different. Drinks were cheap, $ 5 Stella beer. Mixed crowd from late 20s to early 40s.

The owner is a complete asshole. I wouldn’t walk into this bar if it was the last place on earth that wasn’t infested with the plague.

My favorite bar in Tucson. It’s a great local hang out with great staff, strong and cheap drinks and great environment. It’s full of local art on their walls, it is small but there is also a patio out back. My favorite bartender is Billy. There is no bar quite like it

Kind of strange … I guess this is the Way of the 4th. People do not really stay on a Saturday night. They flow in and out to see and be seen. Quite the cast of characters. The live music was great, no space to dance. I recommend getting a seat and enjoying the people show. I need to go back when not crazy packed. I ended up standing on the sidewalk to listen to music. Quite the age range but mainly younger folks and hipsters. cool

Seems like a local hang out. Jukebox with CDs — a quarter a song so the wait for your song gets long as most people put in $ 5. Because it’s patron chosen you could hear anything from this eclectic crowd, so be prepared for that. Other than that, the bartenders are nice and seem to enjoy themselves.

Vibe is very laid back. From the outside it looks like its dark and dungeon, but we were surprised to find it bright and open. Drinks were great and good service.

I wish I could give these blatant racists negative stars!!! I was asked to leave the bar because I asked one of the bartenders for a pen. When he saw the lady I was talking to was not black he told me to leave the bar. When I asked for a manager I was told they’re all managers and since I was asked to leave by one then they all supported him without question. I explained I simply asked for a pen and was still told to leave. I was told drinks are more important than a pen and I should leave lol. Well luckily I was with a bunch of cool people who will now make sure your racist venue gets no more support. This review won’t reach all but knowing its out there gives me a little bit of satisfaction. Thank you Unilocal!!!

Eh. all the bartenders are dudes dressed in black, have short/shaved hair, and wear baseball caps. Pretty much ditto for customers. Poor visibility of whatever band you might want to see. Lived in Tucson for 6+ years, been here twice now, don’t think I’ve missed much.

I love their watermelon margarita and their new summer cucumber mint margarita! Awesome bands and bartenders. All around good time, my friend.

OK service, good prices usually. Sometimes has an awkward smell about it which I don’t understand, but hey I guess it’s a «dive.»

People on a budget think this place is great because the drinks are so cheap. If you actually have money this place is a dump. The workers are very rude and it smells like hobos and piss. I don’t understand why the bouncers think they are above everyone and snobby as hell. If being a doorman is their greatest accomplishment in life and they hate their jobs I don’t see why they have to take it out on everyone else.

If you like quality, strong, cheap drinks with awesome and fast bartenders, look no further. On weekends it can get a bit crowded, but the smoking patio is usually where we go because there are more tables. There are often bands playing, and if there aren’t they have a great jukebox as well as some pinball and other arcade games. The ambiance is slightly divey with hipsters as far as the eye can see which is preferable, at least for me. Overall I find it pretty down to earth, and non-threatening. I’ve personally never had problems with anyone here, people are usually pretty friendly and the usual bouncer does a great job of keeping the place under control. I’ve never been to this bar during the day but I imagine it’d be great for day drinking. Even on a crazy night they can cook up some great concoctions so I bet given more time, the bartenders could come up with some tasty experiments. I’ve never been disappointed with their«trust the bartender» shot or drink. Che’s is my go-to bar on 4th. We usually start there, and end the night there when we go out. If you’re looking for an affordable, no-bull drinking experience this place is for you. Bonus: Adult snowcones if you’re into that.

Really awesome spot for drinks… especially bloody mary’s…the ambience and décor is also awesome with a mix of local stickers that say, «keep Tucson shitty» and Che graphics as well as local artists’ paintings…

We have frequented Ches more and more this past year and I have to say it has become one of my favorites on the Ave. Plush(sorry Flycatcher) still has my heart but Che’s is right up there. I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are for, we go in, order time-consuming muddled drinks and still get good service! Thanks Che’s!

Watermelon Margaritas!!! They’ve got them some fresh watermelon and will serve it up any which way you can think of. Perfect for a hot day– take it out the patio. I wish I had more time. I would have ordered like 10 of these things. Think light Jolly Rancher flavors with a dash of Tajin fruit spice on the rim.
