I had initially planned on keeping our old pediatrician in Texas. I’d planned on getting the check-​ups done whenever we were out there visiting.
I finally changed my mind. We really needed a pediatrician in town. I started looking for one and was surprised at how little reviews of doctors there are. I mean, I find tons of reviews for food, music and movies, but for something as important as choosing a doctor, there was little information. I wanted somebody close by, someone that would take our insurance and someone that had good feedback. Dr. Hickie met all those requirements. He has several positive reviews and lots of word of mouth recommendations.
We made an appointment but had to wait over a month to be seen. If you live in the Rita Ranch area, you’ll know that there are lots of kids around here. Many of them are Dr. Hickie’s patients.
Our old pediatrician was, well, old. I loved his no nonsense attitude but I also love technology. Dr. Hickie’s office seems more advanced. I was really pleased with how patient and caring he is with the kids. He talks to them and explains things. I left there feeling very comfortable that we had made the right choice.
