Conrad Wilde Gallery shows contemporary art, at fair prices. They owner is always there, and so knowledgeable. The art work is unique and beautiful. I epically like the work they have by Jessica Drenk. Check out their programs at . I go to their openings too with fiends, and they always have food and wine.

How many places the size of Tucson can you find a gallery nearly exclusive to all that is encaustic? None, my Unilocaling cohorts! If you are a virgin to the encaustic art style, it is simply painting with hot colored(and sometimes not colored) wax. Miles Conrad is usually the person with a friendly greeting at the gallery door. He takes time to talk a little about the latest show of artwork, then politely steps away and allows you to peruse the images on your own. The styles vary widely. I have a personal preference for abstract art, and Conrad Wilde Gallery definitely represents… The Gallery also offers painting classes on occasion. Visit their website for upcoming ones. I took one and it was expensive but worth every penny if it meant expediting my skill set with this fascinating medium. Hot wax is kind of sexy too, heh heh. Try out Tucson’s little wax-y gem. Miles recently opened an encaustic supply shop down the hallway from the gallery if you are feeling creative afterwards. Good prices, competitive with anything you can get online and way better quality than what you can buy in a local art store. Miles is always helpful with guiding you towards what you need, not what you want. Hooray.
