Cost Cutters

I’ll give this place 2 stars because I never had a bad experience with the customer service aspect. I’ve been here maybe two or three times over the course of five years, but after this last haircut I’ll for sure never come back. Every time I go to Cost Cutters I figure I just need a simple trim to cut off dead ends, so I don’t need to go anywhere fancy. WRONG.
Even for a simple cut they always seem to butcher my hair. My stylists have never understood how to deal with curly hair. I make sure to let them know I don’t want layers because it makes my hair have a crazy triangular shape (similar to the comment below). The stylist suggested I do some simple face framing and cut one layer by my chin. This somehow led to her cutting half my hair at chin length and leaving the back long. It’s so awkward and I’ve been growing it out for months, all just for coming for a simple trim. Take my advice — even if you want something quick and simple, go spend a little more money somewhere else.

Was very rushed and the lady cutting my hair kept telling me not to move to the point where it got really annoying and I know I wasn’t moving i got a good haircut just didn’t have a good experience. 3 stars

Worst salon I’ve ever been to. I wanted a cute shoulder length cut and decided to hit up my nearest cost cutters. It was slightly impulsive, yes. But I had gotten the cut before so I knew what to expect. However as soon as I sat down, my stylist muttered «why me?» Red flag #1.
The guy who cut my hair was rude and showed a lack of confidence in his skills before we even started. Then after a minute of learning what I wanted he dry cut my hair above my shoulder and said «no going back now!» So naturally he freaked me out a little but I kept my cool. After he insulted me by blaming my dislike for his stupid haircut on my «impulsivity» I had enough. It wasn’t even the haircut that upset me but just the way I was treated. I told him I wasn’t paying and he forced me, telling me that it was stealing… so naturally out of rage I gave him the $ 15 for abusing me and giving me a crappy cut.
The cost cutters representative reached out to me and was very friendly and willing to listen to my complaint! I told her I wanted to get my money back and she said that was more than fine. I had to go back to the store and talk to the manager, (Sherry). However the stylist was there giving me an evil glare the entire time! The manager wasn’t interested in my side and told me I could keep my comments to myself after I mentioned how he was a huge jerk.
So got my money back! But seriously never go here. Also I got my hair fixed at Toni &Guy! (And I absolutely love it). Go see Lindsey if you’re in the same situation

I had the worst haircut of my life at this place today. I look like a dweeb. Avoid at all costs.

Came here on a desperate measure, because I needed to get my fried ends cut immediately! I was also hoping to get the ombré out of my hair, and have a solid color put in.
The girl who cut my hair (dark hair, tattoos, piercings) was friendly and nice, but not overly chatty, which is good. I wanted her to cut my hair just an inch, but she suggested 2 inches because my hair was pretty bad — happy I took her advice.
Only odd part was — she said I shouldn’t get my hair colored today because she didn’t want me in the salon for hours. She said it in a very friendly and courteous way, but I told her I wouldn’t mind being there for hours. Yet, she declined. Odd.
Cheap haircut — cut my ends, just what I needed. Fast service and friendly staff was a plus.

Will never go back. Staff wasn’t too friendly and the woman who cut my hair cut more off than I asked. She also stabbed me with her nails twice. On top of those, two other stylist was eating their top ramen in eye sight on me and the rest of the waiting patrons. Overall, I just wanted to get out of there.

I made a mistake a horrible mistake letting these people anywhere near my hair. The guy cutting my hair didnt want to look at the picture of how i wanted it cut. Then he cut it way to short and not at all the style I wanted. Im mad that I even payed for what that place did to my hair.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Worst haircut of my life!!! My hair was long, reached just past the middle of my back. I asked to take some length off, with layers but no shorter than shoulder length. The guy took a pair of scissors and cut my (dry) hair straight across at the shoulders. There are barely any layers to my cut. I have curly hair and a round face; I look ridiculous! I look like Gilda Radner as Roseanne Roseannadanna on SNL. Look it up! I have that haircut minus the bangs!
I was in an out of that chair in 10 minutes. I wasn’t expecting much because it’s Cost Cutters but I also wasn’t expecting them to butcher my hair.

I came to this Cost Cutters last night for a haircut. The staff was welcoming and friendly, even as the place was busy. There are some places where the hair stylist doesn’t say a word and the 15-​minute haircut seems like an hour because of the awkwardness. It’s great to be able to actually get to know the person cutting your hair and even the other staff and customers who hear the conversation and want to be a part of it. Call ahead if you plan on getting your haircut during their rush hours (at night). This Cost Cutters is located at the end of a very busy stretch of shops.

I’m furious! One star is way to good for these people! I know it is a budget hair place but that is no excuse for the extremely unprofessional behavior. The woman who cut my hair not only was on her phone but cut WAY to much off. The other hairstylists were doing there own hair (like washing, coloring, and styling) and made customers wait while they finished. I am NEVER coming back to that place!

Been here a few times and never had a bad experience. I was always a little hesitant because of the horror stories associated with these budget chains, but I have consistently received excellent cuts and kind service (I am speaking only for hair cuts, not coloring, as I have only gone for cuts). You honestly can’t go wrong for the price. I wouldn’t have been averse to paying twice what I paid here for the service/​cut I received.
I also have only been here as a walk-​in and have never had to wait more than 15 minutes (and they were always honest/​accurate about the wait time).
